Story
Sailor is such a sweet little girl and perfect in every way. She is still quite scared and still shivers sometimes, but she is also brave and curious. In the beginning she finally drank some water and started to eat a few bites of soft food. She's was still trying to process this huge change in her life and was kind of frozen. She would stay still in one spot until she was moved. She didn't get up to pee, drink water or do anything. Day, she is eating more food and she is exposing her new environment. She even barked for the first time! She has been going potty outside and even to explore outside, sniffing everything. She had a play date with two Maltese dogs. She did get up to check them out and was friendly. Every day she takes small steps eating more food, drinking water, relieving herself and exploring. He curiosity is showing more every day. She is putting lots of energy into trying new things and becoming less shy. -----

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.

Story
Salon is a 7 year old Maltese sweetie. She’s a quirky little thing. When she first sees her humans after a separation (be it kiddos going to school or someone hanging out in their room for an hour) she does a body wiggle and opens her mouth while shaking her head. It looks super goofy but you can tell she’s SMILING. Hugely. Her tail wraps up twirly like a piglet. She loves to be underfoot, has figured out the dog door, but is learning about potty traineing. She barks when she’s been hanging out with someone and they go behind a door or gate. If she can follow she’s happy to be Velcro. There are zero signs of aggression, and she is not territorial. She is more curious and gentle. She’s great with little kids and cats (no chasing or barking) and other dogs. Green light! She may have problems with her teeth. She sleeps in a little bed in the living room. She would prefer to be with a human, but she manages to stay quiet 11-8 at least. She will pee when watching other dogs pee and smelling it, and she is willing to walk on grass and in rain. She is working on the idea of pooping outside. She does pee inside but with need more help doing everything perfectly. She’s really quite silly and charming. She is ood with other dogs, children, cats, and cars. She’s a real cutie pie. -----

Story
Beaux a six year old Maltese dog. Beaux is the definition of a quiet glow-up ✨ In just a few short weeks in foster care, this sweet six-year-old has blossomed into an affectionate, gentle companion who truly just wants to be near her people. She’ll happily greet you at the door with a wagging tail and a soft, joyful energy, and when the day winds down, her favorite place is curled up on (or right next to) you—preferably on the coziest, softest spot she can find. Beaux has great house manners and has done wonderfully with pottying outside, both in the yard and on walks, settling into a reliable routine with ease. While new or loud noises can still make her a little unsure, Beaux shows quiet bravery and continues to build confidence every day. She walks politely on leash, passing other dogs without much interest, and has relatively low activity needs—she’s much more of a cuddle-on-the-couch kind of girl than a go-go-go adventurer. She does okay in the car, even when a bit nervous, and has been learning to feel more comfortable with handling. Beaux prefers a gentle, respectful approach—she does best when given a moment to brace herself before being picked up, and she’s learned to respond to a reassuring pat on the leg. At night, she’s perfectly content sleeping in her own bed but has also discovered the joy of snoozing at the foot of yours. Beaux is sweet, polite, and full of quiet love. She would make the perfect companion for someone looking for a calm, devoted little shadow to share their days (and their soft blankets) with. -----

Story
Big Hair is a little 6 year old Maltese girl and she is the definition of sweetness wrapped in a cloud of fluff. She absolutely adores snuggling up close, whether it’s on your lap, by your side, or tucked in with the kids for story time. Gentle, affectionate, and full of love, she gets along beautifully with children and other dogs, making her a perfect family companion. Her calm, cuddly nature is balanced by a playful sparkle that brings joy to everyone she meets, a tiny pup with a huge heart 💕. She sleeps on a blanket on the floor in the bedroom. She is very good about whining to go out when she needs to go! She’s still getting used to trusting humans. She can be hard to pick up because she’s hesitant to trust, but every day she is getting more comfortable with the idea as she is learning that it means snuggles for her. She also is starting to learn her name, which is helpful. She is comfortable riding in the car. -----

Story
Aquanaut 7 year old Maltese. She is sweet, curious, quiet, and very gentle. She loves attention, and is making progress with potty training. She is also learning to walk on a leash and doing well. She’s a lovely little companion with a soft personality. Her favorite snack is pig ears! She sleeps in her dog bed on the floor next to her people bed. She sleeps well overall and, if she wakes and stirs occasionally, she settles back down easily with gentle reassurance. She is working on potty training outside and is making great progress! She is good with other dogs and with children, and she rides well in a car. -----

Story
Tina Tuggle is precious in every way—smart, playful, adorable, and incredibly cuddly. Beneath all that sweetness, she’s a sensitive little soul who is still learning that the world is a safe place. Her first reaction to new people or situations is often fear, but with patience, gentle reassurance, and love, she blossoms beautifully. She absolutely loves going for walks (sometimes turning them into little runs!), and once she’s outside, her happy personality shines. New experiences—like going down stairs—are still a work in progress, but Tina tries her very best with encouragement. So much of life feels new to her, and it’s been amazing to watch her grow more confident each day. Tina does well in the car after a brief moment of uncertainty. Once she feels safe, she settles in—often curling up on the passenger seat. Soft voices and gentle pets go a long way in helping her relax and feel secure. At home, Tina is a devoted little companion. She sleeps through the night on her cushion in bed and loves to nap nearby during the day while you work or relax. She has cozy beds in every room, but truthfully, she just wants to be wherever you are. She’s working on her potty routine—using pee pads when left alone (with a little room for improvement on aim!)—but she primarily goes outside, whether it’s in the yard first thing in the morning or during her three daily walks. Tina is still building her confidence with new people and bigger dogs. She may want to retreat at first, but with gentle reassurance, she warms up and does just fine. She especially enjoys being around smaller dogs and often gravitates toward them on walks. It took about 10 days for Tina to fully relax in her foster home, and since then, her playful spirit has really come alive. When she feels safe, she gets the cutest zoomies and will happily invite you to chase her around—it’s her favorite game! Tina Tuggle is truly lovable to her core. She just needs a patient, understanding home that will help her continue learning to trust. In return, she will bring so much joy, sweetness, and companionship into your life -----
