Story
Meet Bbang He must travel in-cabin, so we are currently only accepting applications from adopters who can pick up in Toronto or Calgary. • Name: Bbang • Age: 5 years • Sex: Neutered Male • Breed: Maltese • Color: White • Weight: 2.4 kg • Height (shoulder): 23 cm   Rescue Story Bbang was left behind when his previous owner moved overseas. He was abandoned at a golf course where he had been a regular visitor. During his time there, he was unfortunately mistreated by some male guests and forced to stay in a storage area. A kind caretaker who looked after him reached out to us, hoping to find him a safe and loving forever home.   Personality & Socialization (People) Bbang is a very affectionate and friendly little dog who loves people. He approaches both familiar faces and strangers with ease, often leaning in for pets and attention.   In new environments, he may show a brief moment of shyness, but he quickly warms up—especially with treats—and does not show any guarding or defensive behavior. He is comfortable with men and has also done well around children he met at the park.   He can be picked up easily and, once bonded, will happily roll over to show his belly for rubs.   Socialization (Dogs) Bbang is polite and social with other dogs. He enjoys greeting both familiar and unfamiliar dogs but is not overly playful.   He tends to avoid larger dogs at first and may be a bit intimidated by them. However, he is friendly with dogs of similar or smaller size and prefers calmer companions. High-energy dogs can feel overwhelming for him.   Even when provoked, he chooses to avoid conflict rather than react.   With Cats Bbang is currently living with a cat and has been doing very well. They even share the bed and sleep together.   Energy Level He has a moderate energy level. He enjoys outdoor activities and walks, but settles down nicely and rests calmly afterward.   ‍ Walks Bbang has good leash manners and does not pull. He prefers walking over excessive sniffing and follows his handler well.   He is attentive outdoors and has shown good behavior, such as waiting calmly when cars pass.   Additional Notes • May show food guarding toward humans (growling if touched while eating), but does not guard from other dogs • No excessive barking • Mild initial whining in a kennel, but settles within a few minutes • Enjoys car rides • Currently practicing for in-cabin flight travel using a carrier • Fully trained for both pee pads and outdoor potty • May mark in new environments   Ideal Home Bbang would thrive in a loving home that understands small dog sensitivities and can provide a calm, stable environment. He would do especially well with gentle handling during mealtimes and with companions who respect his space when needed.   If you’re looking for a small, affectionate companion who will happily stay by your side, Bbang could be the perfect match Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram! ##2707777##

Story
Rita is an adorable, friendly, spunky little 7lb bundle of joy! She gets along with anyone and everyone. She loves to give kisses and be as close to her humans as possible at all times! She is pretty high energy and would do best with a young, active owner commited to getting this girl exercise and socialization. She would not do well at home alone all day while her owner is at work, for example. Rita is located in Houston TX and will not be transported until she is adopted. The adopter is responsible for paying for her transport in addition to the adoption fee. The adoption fee is $850. The first step is to fill out an application at www.recycleddogsrescue.org No inquiries will be responded to - only completed applications.

Story
Sailor is such a sweet little girl and perfect in every way. She is still quite scared and still shivers sometimes, but she is also brave and curious. In the beginning she finally drank some water and started to eat a few bites of soft food. She's was still trying to process this huge change in her life and was kind of frozen. She would stay still in one spot until she was moved. She didn't get up to pee, drink water or do anything. Day, she is eating more food and she is exposing her new environment. She even barked for the first time! She has been going potty outside and even to explore outside, sniffing everything. She had a play date with two Maltese dogs. She did get up to check them out and was friendly. Every day she takes small steps eating more food, drinking water, relieving herself and exploring. He curiosity is showing more every day. She is putting lots of energy into trying new things and becoming less shy. -----

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.

Story
Salon is a 7 year old Maltese sweetie. She’s a quirky little thing. When she first sees her humans after a separation (be it kiddos going to school or someone hanging out in their room for an hour) she does a body wiggle and opens her mouth while shaking her head. It looks super goofy but you can tell she’s SMILING. Hugely. Her tail wraps up twirly like a piglet. She loves to be underfoot, has figured out the dog door, but is learning about potty traineing. She barks when she’s been hanging out with someone and they go behind a door or gate. If she can follow she’s happy to be Velcro. There are zero signs of aggression, and she is not territorial. She is more curious and gentle. She’s great with little kids and cats (no chasing or barking) and other dogs. Green light! She may have problems with her teeth. She sleeps in a little bed in the living room. She would prefer to be with a human, but she manages to stay quiet 11-8 at least. She will pee when watching other dogs pee and smelling it, and she is willing to walk on grass and in rain. She is working on the idea of pooping outside. She does pee inside but with need more help doing everything perfectly. She’s really quite silly and charming. She is ood with other dogs, children, cats, and cars. She’s a real cutie pie. -----

Story
Big Hair is a little 6 year old Maltese girl and she is the definition of sweetness wrapped in a cloud of fluff. She absolutely adores snuggling up close, whether it’s on your lap, by your side, or tucked in with the kids for story time. Gentle, affectionate, and full of love, she gets along beautifully with children and other dogs, making her a perfect family companion. Her calm, cuddly nature is balanced by a playful sparkle that brings joy to everyone she meets, a tiny pup with a huge heart 💕. She sleeps on a blanket on the floor in the bedroom. She is very good about whining to go out when she needs to go! She’s still getting used to trusting humans. She can be hard to pick up because she’s hesitant to trust, but every day she is getting more comfortable with the idea as she is learning that it means snuggles for her. She also is starting to learn her name, which is helpful. She is comfortable riding in the car. -----
