Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please go to our website for all specific information about this dog.  Our info doesn't transfer over to the adoption sites.  Finch came to us with other dogs from a shelter cruelty case confiscation.  He is the sweetest, tiny little guy!  We've taken care of is medical needs (neuter, dental etc) and grooming but he has a pretty significant patella (knee) issue that we cannot address.  He gets around, including running around, just great.  He holds the leg up like a chicken wing and goes!  It causes no pain or discomfort.  He is only 3.8 pounds so no young kids in the home and someone needs to be around to get him outside more often as he won't hold it for long.  We continue to work on that daily.  He needs a professional groomer to keep his coat gorgeous too.  Maltese and very tiny dogs need lifelong dental care so be sure you're willing and able to provide that for him if you do apply for adoption.   Prior to adoption, our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and parasite treated/prevented.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 23, 2025, 3:13 pm

Story
Meet Doongi, a 5-year-old neutered male Maltese with a snowy white coat, weighing in at a petite 2.5kg! He will arrive in Calgary, AB on April 5th!!! Doongi is a sweet little fluffball who was found wandering around a nursing home and brought to the City Shelter. We believe he was once cherished by an elderly person, and it certainly shows in his affectionate personality. Doongi is a true cuddle enthusiast—he’s not just friendly with people he knows, but also happily approaches strangers, snuggles into laps, and soaks up all the attention he can get. He adores both men and women equally and even welcomes children under 13 with the same gentle affection. Pick him up by slipping your arm under his belly—he’s completely comfortable being handled and loves being held close. When it comes to other dogs, Doongi prefers the company of pups his own size. He’s not too interested in playing with larger dogs and may walk away if they get too excited around him. He’ll allow them to sniff, but he’s more of a people-pup at heart and doesn’t seek out doggy friends—though recently, he’s started playing with a roommate, showing that he can enjoy canine company once he’s comfortable. Cats? Not really on his radar. He’s spotted a few on walks and couldn’t care less, but we’re happy to do more testing if needed. With a low energy level, Doongi is the ultimate chill companion. He’s calm, enjoys relaxing, and is happiest when lounging with his human. He’s a pro on walks—no leash pulling here! He follows along beautifully and doesn’t guard his food or belongings from people or other dogs. While he initially whined a bit for attention, he settled quickly and now waits quietly when left alone. Doongi may give a little bark when he wants something, but he’s generally quiet and well-mannered. He rides calmly in a crate and is house-trained to use both indoor pads and go potty outdoors. Doongi is truly a gem—loving, loyal, and ready for a cozy forever home! View more photos and videos on Facebook: Link to Post Does NAME sound like the right companion for you? Send in your application today here or through our website:adoptmekoreanrescue.org/adoption-application/ AKR dogs can arrive at Vancouver or Toronto airport and may be able to arrive at some US airports (Seattle, LA, NY, Boston, etc) where we have flight volunteers. Story
Quick Facts Name: Logan Age: 8 years old (born in 2017) Gender: Male Neutered: Yes Breed: Maltese Color: White Weight: 4 kg (approx. 9 lbs) All About Me Hi there! My name is Logan, and if you’re looking for a devoted companion who will always be by your side, you’ve found me! I’m a small pup with a huge heart, and my favorite thing in the world is simply being close to my humans. Whether it’s following you around the house, curling up next to you on the couch, or giving you little tail wags of encouragement—I’m always ready to shower you with love. My Personality I’m a total people-lover! I warm up quickly to new friends, and if you give me a little attention, I’ll happily roll over to show you my belly. I’m gentle, affectionate, and always eager for cuddles. I might even follow you from room to room, just to make sure you know how much I love you. When it comes to other dogs, I prefer to keep to myself. I’m polite and will say a quick hello, but I’m not the type to engage in playtime. I’d much rather spend my time soaking up love from my humans. Oh, and did I mention treats? I love treats! They are the way to my heart, and I’ll do just about anything for a yummy snack. On My Walks I’m a wonderful walking buddy! I have lots of experience on a leash and walk right by your side without pulling. Whether it’s a short stroll or a leisurely afternoon walk, I’ll be happy just being outside with you. Life at Home I’m a well-mannered little guy who knows how to settle down indoors. I’m comfortable in a kennel if needed, and I’m great with both indoor pads and outdoor potty breaks. I don’t mind relaxing on my own, but I’ll always be happiest when I’m near my favorite person. I do get excited when I want something and might let out a little bark to let you know. It’s just my way of talking to you! My Ideal Home I dream of a home filled with love and gentle companionship. Here’s what I hope for in my forever family: Someone who loves affectionate, people-oriented dogs—I’ll be your little shadow! A cozy space where I can curl up and feel safe. A home where I can be the center of attention (I don’t mind other dogs, but I don’t need them). If you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion who will cherish every moment by your side, I’d love to meet you. Let’s start our forever together! ##2300885##

Story
Quick Facts Name: Henry Birthday: 8 years (Born Jan 1, 2017) Gender: Male Neutered: Yes Breed: Maltese Color: White Weight: 2.4kg All About Me Hello, future family! I’m Henry, a sweet and gentle soul with a lot of love to give. At 8 years old, I’m a little guy who may seem shy at first, but once I trust you, I’m all about cuddles and affection. I’m a Maltese, and I’ve got the softest white fur that you’ll love to pet. My Personality I might be small, but I’ve got a big heart! I may seem a little shy when we first meet, but a tasty treat is all it takes for me to warm up to you. Once I feel comfortable, I’m ready to be your best friend. I enjoy my personal space at first, but it doesn’t take me long to open up to new faces, especially if you’re kind and patient with me. I’m not the most outgoing with other dogs—I prefer to keep my distance. But don’t worry, I’m gentle and peaceful, and if things get a bit too rowdy, I’m quick to step away and find a quieter spot. I’m much more focused on my people and love spending time with them. On My Walks When it comes to walks, I’m not in a rush—I enjoy leisurely strolls where we can take our time and enjoy the scenery together. I may pull a little on the leash at first, but I do my best to follow along with you. Life at Home I’m a calm and affectionate little guy who loves the quiet moments with my family. I’m not too active, and I tend to keep to myself at first, but once I feel safe, I’ll snuggle up next to you for some quality time. I don’t guard my food and I rarely bark. I am potty trained indoor and outdoor also I feel comfortable in a kennel. My Ideal Home I’m looking for a home where I can feel safe and loved. A family that’s patient and willing to give me the time I need to feel comfortable would be perfect. Here’s what I dream of: - A Calm, Loving Environment – A peaceful home where I can relax and be myself.- Gentle Companionship – I’d love to live with people who are kind and gentle, and I’d prefer a home without other rowdy dogs or to be only fur baby.- Plenty of Love & Attention – I may be small, but my heart is huge, and I can’t wait to share it with the right family! Last Message If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion who will slowly but surely become your best friend, I might just be the perfect fit for you. Let’s take things slow and enjoy each other’s company—I can’t wait to meet you! ##2301029##

Story
Good with other dogs • Good with cats • Food motivated • Playful • Snuggly Sonic is a super sweet and snuggly little pup. He may be timid at first, but once he warms up, he’s a playful, happy little guy who loves to be close to his humans. He is always curious about where you are and prefers to be by your side. Sonic enjoys toys, chews, and has a great appetite, always ready for a meal. He loves the company of his foster family's dogs and his two little foster brothers. At night, Sonic sleeps in the bed with his fosters, ensuring he’s cozy and close. During the day, he takes naps in dog beds or on the couch. Sonic is making good progress with potty training. While he often goes near the pads, he occasionally misses. He hasn’t had much opportunity to go outside due to the cold, but we expect he’ll be ready for outdoor potty trips soon. Though he’s still a little awkward when being picked up, Sonic loves snuggling next to you on the bed or couch. He especially enjoys watching the humans cook, and he gets a special treat every day, usually rice, scrambled eggs, and cottage cheese. Sonic is a very special pup, and he would thrive with a family that appreciates his affectionate nature and enjoys having a loving companion who likes to stay close.

Story
Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.
