Meet Benny, an eight-year-old dog originally from Korea. Benny is a super sweet dog with a lot of love and heart. He just wants all the cuddles and pets and to feel safe. He gets along well with other dogs as hes spent his life growing up around them but he was abused when he was in Korea so he trusts females easier than males due to the abuse coming from a male. He has zero aggressive bones in his body and would most likely do good around cats if needed as well. He walks well on leash once he trust you, but will freeze if he gets scared. He has a half brother who lives with me as well, which I had adopted a few years prior to Benny. He has a collapsed trachea that he takes a small pill in his food twice daily but doesnt affect his lifespan. This has caused him to gain weight (though he had a weight problem in Korea due to not be giving food at times so now he loves his food). He is a little chunky monkey. He also has some flakey skin issues so extra baths and a cherry eye.

I'm a native New Yorker; I was adopted from the ASPCA when I was a puppy, and lived with my family until about a month ago when my parent got sick and couldn't care for me anymore. I miss them so much, and I’m still unsettled, but I still have a lot of love to give to my new family! I’ve been in two foster situations since early January. With the first one, I met her boyfriend and her sister. We lived in a studio, which I liked because I could see my foster mom at all times. With the second home, I lived with 3 people. I love meeting people, but I need a second to see if I can trust you. If you give me belly rubs or let me lie across you on the couch, you’re great in my book. I’m quite spooked by other dogs and am reactive. I’m open to training, but my foster parents must be diligent, and I’ll probably do best without dogs around, at least for the foreseeable future. While I’ve enjoyed playing outside in the snow and like to run on leash, ultimately, I am a total homebody, so being back in an apartment with my blankie and humans is amazing. I don't mind staying home alone either! I'll keep the couch warm for you. I want to trust and feel confident, but the only family I’ve known isn't in my life anymore and I’m a bit confused. Don't call me an old dog yet; I'm still strong and sassy and smart! I have a lot of life left in me, and if you're willing to be loyal to me, I'll be the most faithful family member you've ever had.

She is excited to see you at any time of day and after greeting you with kisses and playful nibbles on your fingers she is happy to either have a fun game of tug or curl up in your nap and cozy in. At only 11 weeks she has learned some basic commands, like "Sit" and "Down." She is quickly picking up "Paw" and "Stay," too. She is an indoor puppy and within one week with her foster family has become about 90% potty trained on the pee pad. Although she is considerably smaller than her brother, she is spirited and loves rassling with him. She'll bait him to chase her and compete for toys, and she definitely holds her own! This girl has it all -- fun, cuddly, sweet, and, of course, adorable!
