Hi, I’m Billie! And yes, I am as beautiful in person as I am on camera. I’m a sweet and curious gal with a whole lot of love to give. I’ve been living with my foster parents (male and female couple early 30’s) for almost 5 weeks now and they tell me that I’ve made huge strides since I moved here! I wasn’t so keen on living with a man at first because men can be a bit intimidating to me, but my foster Dad is so patient and kind and he allowed me to adjust at me own pace. Now, he’s my bestest friend, and I’m learning that strangers aren’t all that scary after all!
I am very eager to please, and I loveee treats of all shapes and sizes. I learn quickly with consistency and lots of patience and repetition, but I know that with more of this, the world will be my oyster.
I am happiest when in the company of my humans and snuggling is my love language. Personal couch space? Never heard of it. I’d much rather curl up as close to you as possible and hit the snooze button. After my naps I usually pick out a toy and ask my humans to play with me for a bit – I love bonding with through playtime! Tug toys are my favorite but I also love tennis balls, plushy toys, and anything with a squeaker (not to mention Kongs, Licky Mats, Pupsicles, marrow bones, and ice cubes!). If you need to do your own thing around the house, you can usually find me laying down somewhere nearby just watching what you’re up to.
During the work week I spend my days with at least one of my foster parents, and im slowly graduating to being able to be left home alone. I have some separation anxiety but my foster parents are helping me work through my fears and I’m getting more confident and independent each day. When left alone I usually settle within a few minutes and will lay on the couch where I can see the door.
I would thrive in a home or apartment in a quieter neighborhood (having a backyard would be a dream for me, but definitely not a requirement). I get too excited around cats and small animals, so I’d prefer not to share a home with them. When my needs are met, I’m as happy as a clam and the best companion. I’m looking for a family who’ll take a chance on me, help me build my confidence, and give me the love and structure I’ve been dreaming of for my forever home!
