Story
Deacon’s family had a second child and felt like they could not give him the attention he needs. They posted him on a rehoming site where he was spotted by one of our foster families. Deacon has already lived with two different families in his 8 years of life, and our foster wanted to make sure that the next one would be his forever home. Deacon is an 8 year old Pomeranian mix weighing 14lbs. He LOVES his ball and will chase it and bring it back as many times as it’s thrown. He knows how to “sit” and “wait” on command, and he is both housebroken and crate trained. Deacon would prefer a home with kids over the age of 10, if any. He also needs owners that are home most of the time and love to cuddle.

Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs.
