Meet Murphy – Your Loyal Low-Key Sidekick Murphy is a 5-year-old Rat Terrier/Jack Russell mix with the soul of a quiet observer. He’s not one for the spotlight—or your lap—but he’ll always be close by, ready for a quick head scratch and to quietly check in on his favorite human. Murphy is calm, even-tempered, and prefers a peaceful life. He’s crate trained, gets along great with other dogs, and while he doesn’t need a canine buddy, he’s perfectly happy to share his space. Strangers can make him a little unsure at first, but give him a moment and he warms up quickly. He’s quiet most of the time, but will let you know about noises outside or when people come to the door. This gentle boy is still learning the ropes of potty training and basic obedience, but he’s eager to please and takes direction well. He won’t beg for attention, but he will loyally trail behind you from room to room, just to be near. Murphy’s ideal home is one with a patient, understanding family who can offer him the calm, consistent environment he thrives in. He’s not looking for adventure—just someone to walk through life beside. If you’re seeking a quiet, loving sidekick who asks little but gives a lot, Murphy may just be your perfect match. Murphy is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 7/26 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am-Noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about this program. This pet is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm disease and is available through our Foster-to-Adopt (FTA) program. Activity must be restricted for several weeks during recovery.
