Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Beau is the sweetest little guy. He is a very mixed breed, and we are guessing on his breed mix. He is a very happy little fellow, quite puppyish at one-year-old. He loves to play with other dogs, but also loves getting all the attention form his people, so can be a solo dog.  Beau is a total goof actually. He is very entertaining and like a natural comedian. He will definitely keep you laughing. He is full of charm, is good with other dogs, and has lived with cats.  Beau is ironically somewhat shy when meeting new people, but once he knows you and knows you are "safe" he opens up and is his sweet, happy, puppy like self. He needs a gentle home, but one that can offer him the fun and activity he seeks. Adult home only or Adult with older children, teenagers, etc.  Interested in adopting? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Bailey is a sweet, 3 year old mixed breed, guesses on the breed mix, Rat Terrier or JRT/Beagle/Whippet? (guessing!) She is a very sweet girl, has lived with other dogs, but is better with dogs her size or bigger and maybe better to mix with males. She was a little dominant with a smaller, meeker female than her (Terrier!? ) So best with perhaps male or larger, males or can be a solo dog.   Interested in adopting? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Ruthie! Ruthie's journey began when she was found as a stray, battling with her weight and struggling with skin issues. She has received lots of TLC from her foster family and is ready for her trip north to find her forever family. Despite her rough start, Ruthie is as sweet as they come and gets along famously with other dogs. Her typical day starts bright and early, with some outdoor time before heading in for breakfast. Then it's off to the yard for some playtime with her furry friends. In the afternoon, Ruthie spends a bit of time in her crate, likely catching up on some well-deserved rest. Come evening, she's ready for another tasty meal. But perhaps Ruthie's most endearing quality is her trademark wiggle! With a wagging tail and a happy demeanor, she's sure to bring joy to any household. If you're looking for a loving companion who's always up for some fun, Ruthie might just be the perfect match for you! Ruthie currently lives with small dogs and adults. She has not met cats or children. Ruthie is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 3/9/2024 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 530PM and 830PM. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame.  Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Pinky is from Texas. She was found wandering the streets there and brought into rescue after her stray hold was up. Pinky was a skinny, scared little pup with some skin issues when she was found, but has been given proper nutrition and veterinary care while in rescue and has absolutely flourished! Now it is time to find her a home of her very own here in Minnesota! A little about sweet Pinky...she is completely potty-trained (pad trained- going outside is still a work in progress) and crate-trained. But if we're being completely honest, her crate is her absolute least favorite place in the world...haha! This little peanut is just a little ball of energy that wants to play, play, play! And, let's face it, that's not going to happen in her crate! She does need to be crated when left alone, however, more to save her from herself than anything else. Outside (or inside...she's not picky!) playtime is the absolute highlight of her day! She loves playing with toys and her little doggie foster siblings. Pinky has been adjusting to Minnesota weather, and figuring out this snow business! She immediately warmed up to her foster mom and dad. We are still working on some potty stuff (the snow isn't helping!) but overall doing good! She is working on her crate time and does well with it covered. She may do well in a home with a confident cat, who does not run when chased. She can be a bit bossy and pushy, in typical Chihuahua fashion, and loves to hide her "treasured" possessions in an adorable way! She enjoys snuggle time, and sleeps hard once she is all tucked in and comfortable! She is a very busy, happy gal. Pinky is looking for a family that is willing to take her on daily walks, so she can sniff and explore her new surroundings. She would also love a home that lets her up on the furniture because let's be honest...what's better than puppy snuggles while you watch TV? Absolutely nothing! Pinky is a young pup with lots of energy looking for a patient, playful, and loving family to live out all of her days with. She does like to sing the song of her people, so places with shared walls may not be the best fit. If you think you might be the one to give this sweet little girl the happily ever after she so justly deserves, please fill out an adoption application today! She can't wait to meet you! If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
Welcome Keeley to CCPAL Rescue. Keeley is a 12.5-year-old 15-pound Rat Terrier. She was found as a stray at one of the local convenience stores. Keeley had a microchip. The owners were called and they gave her away years ago. There was another person listed and they also gave her away. Now Keeley has no owners. She is an absolute sweet heart and very smart. People love the Rat Terrier breed for a good reason. These dogs are intelligent and very sweet. I have yet to meet a mean one. Her teeth haven’t been cleaned in a while but we have found that Probright Tooth powder works great for helping remove the buildup. She will need a dental in the near future. She is good with other dogs, loves to go outside, has good recall when you ask her to come, potty trained and loves car rides. She hasn’t been around a cat so we don’t know but her personality would make me think she would be good. She is around small fluffy dogs and big ones and gets along well causing no trouble. She would be great for the older couple or single person wanting a lower maintenance and happy companion. She is getting the slow kill method of heart worm treatment now. We will continue the treatment until adopted and give 6 months of the tablets so they can be continued. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Age: Approximately 5 years old Weight: 15 pounds Dog friendly: Yes, small dog required Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: No Potty trained: Working on it Crate trained: TBD ** Another small dog and a fenced yard required ** I’m Egypt, a very sweet loving girl once I get over being afraid of you.  I have had a difficult beginning but am a very brave girl and am working hard on learning new things.  I have learned to trust my foster mom so know that when I find the right fit I will be able to love and trust you also.  I’m good at using the potty pads and have learned to go outside and potty with my foster mom’s dogs but still a work in progress .  I just learned to go down the deck stairs which is really a big achievement for me as being outside is also new and scary to me.   I would do better with another dog to show me the ropes and teach me that you can be trusted.  I don’t think small children would be an option as scare easily with sudden moves and noises.  I would love a fenced yard so I can explore now that I’m learning it is nice outside.  My foster brother is trying to get me to run around the yard but not that brave yet.   A note from her foster mom: Jack Russells are very smart dogs so I know she will be a great addition to your family.  She also knows a circus trick and can jump at least two feet off the ground with all four feet straight into the air, may want to take her on the road! With  love and patience this beautiful little lady will bring great joy to your life.   Adoption Fee:$495  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.INTERESTED IN MEETING ME?
