Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Ranger is a sweet, affectionate pup who lives for attention and connection. Whether you're giving him belly rubs or simply sitting nearby, he’s happiest when he’s with his people. He gets along well with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine companion. This scruffy, wiry-haired boy has a unique charm – from his signature windmill run (you have to see those back legs in action!) to the occasional, adorable howl when someone walks away from his kennel. He tries to act tough when it's feeding time, barking alongside the other dogs, but really, he's just excited for company. Ranger was found wandering the main road. He would benefit from continued socialization – he still gets a little too excited and jumps on people – but with a patient, loving home, he’ll only grow more confident and well-mannered. He’s the kind of dog who’ll make you laugh every day, melt your heart often, and remind you of the joy of unconditional love. If you're looking for a loyal, cuddly companion who’s ready to be your shadow (and maybe your personal comedian), Ranger is your guy. Ranger is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 06/28/2025 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame.  Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.* If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 16, 2025, 1:23 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Sadie showed up at a house construction site in Houston on June 2nd and decided that’s where she was staying. For three days, she hung around politely, hoping someone would notice her. And someone did. Sadie is a young Rat Terrier mix with big feelings and a lot of charm. She’s affectionate, playful, and goofy—but also a little unsure at first. She’s wary of strangers and nervous about being left outside, but once she knows she’s safe, she’s all in. She’s protective of her people and her space, and she takes her job as “official greeter” pretty seriously (she’ll announce anyone approaching, but she’s not a chronic barker). Sadie does well with big dogs, little dogs, and even cats. She enjoys a good game, loves to chew on yak cheese or antlers, and is always down for a snuggle session—preferably under the covers. She’s been doing great with potty training and is learning that the kennel isn’t the worst place in the world, though she’d definitely rather be near you. She’ll jump up and get mouthy when she’s excited, but she responds quickly to redirection. She’s an ideal fit for an active home where she won’t be left alone in the yard and can keep her clever little mind engaged. Sadie is a sweetheart with a silly streak, and she’s ready for her next chapter. Sadie is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 06/28/2025 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am and noon. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Meet Eloise, an adorable female terrier mix with a heart full of potential! This sweet girl is looking for a loving home where she can thrive and build her confidence. While she can be shy around new people, Eloise truly shines in her familiar environment. At home, she's a cuddly companion who loves head scratches and will gently nudge you for a quick hug. Eloise is a social butterfly when it comes to her canine friends! She adores playing with dogs of all sizes, and their presence helps her blossom into a more confident pup. With her keen intelligence, she loves to explore and will often jump up to find the best lookout spots, keeping an eye on the world around her. This clever girl has a big appetite and has been known to sneak a few bites from her friends’ kennels—after all, sharing isn't her favorite thing! For this reason, she prefers to eat in her kennel, where she feels safe and secure. Eloise is kennel trained and is making great strides in her potty training journey. She enjoys quiet, leisurely walks on a leash and is learning to embrace the great outdoors. Eloise's journey of self-discovery is ongoing, and each day she becomes more confident and curious about the world. Eloise would thrive best in a home with another dog to keep her company, and while she's unsure about cats, she may be able to adapt. Given her gentle nature, a home without young children would be ideal. If you're looking for a loving companion to share your life with, consider opening your heart to Eloise. She dreams of becoming a cherished family member and is ready to fill your home with joy! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Welcome Jazz to CCPAL Rescue. Jazz is a scruffy wire-hair Terrier mix. We think she is a Border Terrier mix dog. She is 3-years old and weighs about 50 pounds. She is not a big shedding dog and now that she has been in the rescue, her coat looks gorgeous and is filled in. When she came in she was thin and her coat wasn’t as full and beautiful as it is now. She is good with many dogs but not all. She would love to be in a family that is outdoorsy and fun and we think she would love to be the only dog and get all the attention. She pulls on lead when we first get her out of her kennel but she does settle down nicely. She didn’t jump up on us and is a well rounded dog. She is confident and will be fine as an only dog. She is good in her kennel and in car rides. She came in with another dog named that was also a scruffy terrier. He has been adopted and she is now waiting for her opportunity for a new forever home. She is a great dog and will make some lucky family a great companion. She is spayed, vaccinated and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland(Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions.
