Story
Meet Raptor, the puppy who likes to pretend he’s the cool, calm, collected member of the group… until you get him one-on-one. Around the other puppies, Raptor acts like the laid-back observer. But the moment he has you to himself? Surprise! The chill guy disappears and the attention-loving goofball comes out. If you stop petting him, he will absolutely let you know about it. Raptor believes attention should be continuous and uninterrupted. His favorite hobby is shoe sabotage. Raptor specializes in sneaking up while you're standing there minding your business and carefully untying your shoelaces. It’s a very important job and he takes it seriously. Raptor gets along well with his siblings and lives with four adult dogs and four cats. The dogs are cool with him, and he would very much like to be friends with the cats… but the cats have not yet approved his application. If you're looking for a puppy who is equal parts chill, silly, affectionate, and mildly mischievous, Raptor is ready to keep you entertained. Local adoption fee is $250(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Hi, my name is Carlow and I am from Arkansas! From her foster: Carlow is a wonderful puppy; quite calm and a quick learner. She loves all people and would be great with kids. Carlow is easy going, loves to snuggle and chill in the sunshine. We’ve been crate training and she does great at night right when the crate is near her humans. She did have a bit of anxiety when she first arrived and wanted to be with a human at all times; she’s gotten braver every day! She’s quickly learning commands and while she hasn’t aced potty training, she only goes on pee pads inside on the rare occasion where we don’t make it outside. This one will quickly win over your heart!

Hi! My name is Shandy, and I'm from Arkansas! This sweet baby is very adventurous, and loves running outside. She is a very playful puppy who loves playing with humans, by herself, or with other dogs, and she is even friends with our cat. She is a gentle player who quickly learns, and respects other animals boundaries. She would do great on a home with or without other animals. She loves little kids, and big kids. She tolerates her crate, and sleeps through the whole night in it. Most of the time she goes potty outside, but if she goes inside she always finds a potty pad to go on. This sweet girl is looking for a great place where she can run around outside, play with toys, cuddle with her humans, and overall just love on everyone around her!

Hi, my name is Maeve and I am from Arkansas! Maeve has so much love to give. She loves to play with toys and is a very curious puppy. She crates very well and sleeps through the night. She uses potty pads easily and is working on learning to go outside. She’s not fond of a leash but a harness works well. She’s ready to give many kisses at any moment. She still needs lots of puppy naps and her favorite place to do so is snuggled in your lap.

Hi, my name is Devin and I am from Arkansas! Devin is a curious little guy and is a sweetheart. He warms up to people very quickly! He loves his naps, chewy toys (especially his rope) and loves snuggles and attention. He is energetic, loves being outside, and is always wanting to play. He also seems to enjoy/be comforted by music, I have been turning it on for him when I have to leave the house. :) Potty training is still a work in progress for the young guy, and he is comfortable sleeping in a kennel with a blanket over the top of the kennel.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Do you want to meet me? I will be at the Eden Prairie Eco Expo, Eden Prairie Center 8251 Flying Cloud Dr, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 for an Adoption Event on Saturday, April 18th from 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs.      Elias is a sweet puppy with a joyful, curious spirit and a wonderfully even‑tempered personality. He loves to play — chasing balls, squeaky toys, ropes, and anything he can tug or carry around. He’s especially fond of stuffed toys and Kongs filled with yogurt, pumpkin, or peanut butter. After a good play session, he’s happy to curl up for cuddles or relax in his dog bed with a toy. He enjoys wrestling and playing with other dogs, but when he gets tired or overwhelmed, he’ll tuck himself under a chair or lean against a person for comfort. He’s affectionate, goofy, and eager to please, with just the right mix of playfulness and sweetness. Elias is doing great with potty training — he consistently goes outside and will often head to the door when he needs to go. He’s crate trained, settles well with a treat or his Kong, and sleeps in his kennel at night. Sometimes he needs one potty break, but he’s already had nights where he sleeps straight through. He’s still learning leash skills and has picked up on leash walking like a champion - with a little more practice he will be a star. He is also working on basic commands and likes to show off that he knows how to "sit". He’s food‑motivated, smart, and ready to learn! He can be a little shy or skittish in new situations, but he warms up quickly with gentle reassurance. It is important he go to dog school to help him gain confidence and learn important skills like leash walking and being brave. Elias is a friendly, playful, affectionate puppy who will make a wonderful companion for a family ready for puppy life — toys, training, cuddles, and all. He’s sweet, adaptable, and full of potential, ready to grow into a loving lifelong friend. **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  T his puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours, or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is to place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs. Hi! My name is Erika, and I’m a happy little puppy with a wagging tail (with the cutest little white tip—it’s like a flag!) and one adorable floppy ear that seems to have a mind of its own. I may be a little shy when we first meet, but I’ve really come out of my shell! I warm up much more quickly now and once I know everything is safe, my sweet, playful personality shines. My tail is almost always wagging because I truly want to be your friend. My favorite things in the world are toys, treats, and playing with my dog friends. I especially love toys that squeak or crinkle, and I could spend a long time happily chewing or tossing them around. Running around the yard with other dogs is one of my absolute favorite activities—I love to chase, explore, and just be a happy puppy. I also have a softer side. I love cuddling just as much as I love playing! Now that I’ve mastered getting up on the couch, it’s one of my favorite spots (besides the bed!) to snuggle up with my people or my dog friends. I have a pretty chill, easygoing personality and really enjoy just being close to those I trust. Because I’m still learning about the world, I feel most confident when I have another dog around. I naturally follow their lead when I’m unsure, and having a dog buddy helps me feel safe and brave. I would truly thrive in a home with another friendly dog to play with and snuggle. I’ve been working hard on my training and have made great progress! When kept on a consistent schedule, I’m doing very well with potty training and have been able to keep my crate clean during the day. I settle nicely in my crate and continue to improve every day. Leash walking is still a work in progress, but I’m getting better! Cars can make me a little nervous, so I’ll pause and let them pass, then keep going. With continued patience and encouragement, I’ll keep gaining confidence. I also love spending time outside—especially laying in the warm sun or finding the perfect stick to chew on. It’s the simple things that make me happiest! I’m a gentle, loving, playful girl with a soft heart, a wagging tail, and so much love to give. With a patient family and a dog friend by my side, I’ll continue to blossom into the most loyal and snuggly best friend. The only thing missing from her happy, tail-wagging life….is someone to share it with .  I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home.
