I am smart, I am happy and very loving! I love other dogs and will play all the time! Story
SOOOOOO how many people remember Starsky and Hutch?? Probably not too many! But if you DO, please don't prejudice us with the "wildness" of our namesakes'! OK, we are a LITTLE wild and cute cute cute! Found in a neighborhood together at about 2-3 months old, we could have had a very different life.... however, we were found by a couple of high school boys who immediately drove us to the rescue to see if they would help at 5pm on a Friday evening. AND IT WORKED!!! We are a couple of cute boys, we are barkers and that is part of the breed- Rat Terriers are busy and smart and active and they bark! We are cute when we bark though :) We do not have to be adopted together, although we love each other and have been together our WHOLE lives.... but we can be adopted apart. We may be nervous at first if adopted separately but if you follow the 3/3/3 rule, it will take us time to adjust in our new home anyway!! (you will find a copy of the 3/3/3 rules in our medical record if you adopt one or both of us) We are waiting for the right family/families to come along and we hope that we find you or you find us soooonnnnn!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Bailey is a sweet, 3 year old mixed breed, guesses on the breed mix, Rat Terrier or JRT/Beagle/Whippet? (guessing!) She is a very sweet girl, has lived with other dogs, but is better with dogs her size or bigger and maybe better to mix with males. She was a little dominant with a smaller, meeker female than her (Terrier!? ) So best with perhaps male or larger, males or can be a solo dog. Interested in adopting? Story
Snapshot of Bolt: Size? Shmedium (I'm bigger than a small dog but leaner than a medium dog!) Activity Level? I LOVE to play and run around. But also have a cuddly side! Noise Level? I'm pretty quiet unless I need something or the other dogs are barking. Good with Dogs? Yes! Good with Cats? Yes! Good with Kids? Yes! But I might knock them down if I get really excited. Good with Strangers? I love everyone! Potty Trained? I need a little time to adjust. But then I'm a pro! Crate Trained? I don't really like my crate. Shedding? Minimal About Bolt: Hi there! My name is Bolt and yes, the name fits my personality! Much like the dog from the 2008 movie of my namesake, I believe that I'm a superhero. I may be small, but I wrestle my 60 pound friends with a gusto far exceeding my size. I came to TCPR after I found myself at local animal control and no humans came to get me. I'm a really great guy so I'm not sure why nobody came to get me. But I have been loving my time at TCPR! I'm still technically an older puppy so I have the energy of an energizer bunny but I'm potty trained! I currently live with other dogs, cats, and kids. I love EVERYONE! Chasing the dogs around the yard and then eventually wrestling with them when we've grown bored of running is my FAVORITE thing! I also love nyla bones, stuffies (without the stuffing because my foster mom prefers that I don't throw stuffing everywhere), Kong toys with peanut butter. They help keep me busy when the other dogs want a nap but I still want to play. I mostly ignore the cats in my foster home unless I'm overflowing with energy. I'll try to plan with them and then they hiss and I back off. The kids are great and I want them to throw a ball or pet me anytime they get the chance. But I can sometimes knock them over if I run by them really fast. My adult foster parents keep a close eye on me when we're all running around! I also try to run out the front door sometimes so its important that my humans keep a close eye on me when they're entering and exiting too! Eventually I get my energy out and will snuggle up with my humans while they lounge on the couch. I'm a total cuddle bug when I'm not trying to run or play! I do well in the car and sleep contentedly in my crate at night. While I don't like to be crated when my people leave, I've learned that I get delicious treats when they go! I whine a little, but it doesn't last long, especially when I see that the other dogs are still with me. I'm making strides and getting used to it. I really enjoy my daily walk and am still practicing my etiquette on a leash. I know my perfect person or family is out there, and I'm so excited for a second chance. My ideal family would be active, have another playful dog, and will be patient with me while I settle into my new home and routine. I would love someone who could teach me to walk better on a leash (I pull a little, but its nothing crazy!) so we could go on long walks or hikes! I would make the perfect companion for someone who is looking to add a second (or third!) dog to their active lifestyle. Bolt is fixed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations for his age. Adoption Fee: $550 + applicable tax MEET ME/ADOPT ME: If you'd like to arrange a meeting or begin the adoption process, please fill out an adoption application by visiting https://www.twincitiespetrescue.org/adopt/ or clicking "adopt me! Story
We are a retired couple. We have been traveling extensively and just bought a home in Gulfport. All the traveling is hard on Chachi, he needs a place to be without moving around so much. Chachi is a loving little dog who loves to snuggle with you. He can be on his own at home. He likes his "home" kennel. He is good with people once he gets to know them, same with kids. At first he can be very nervous and barking at strangers. He is good on walks and is overjoyed to ride in the car. He is mostly good with other dogs, sometimes barks at larger black dogs. He came from Texas where he was raised by a family that could no longer keep him. We have had him three years and we do love him, but think he needs a more stable home life. Not so much traveling around.

Story
Chachi is a great little guy, but he needs a stable loving home. We are traveling too much. He has become nervous and barky at strangers. He is good on walks, walking by anyone and outside. He is good at home alone. He likes his kennel. He is a very good dog. Healthy. Is good with our grandkids, but he needs to warm up to strangers and his barking might scare a younger child. He needs a stable loving environment. He has done well with traveling but is getting nervous around strangers . He barks at them.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Alejandro was found in a very bad situation.  Abuse and neglect were suspected.  He has learned to trust humans again.  He is good with other calmer dogs and dog savvy cats.   Noises and fast movements used to cause him to pee... so patience and love is what he needs as he may digress for a short time with a transition but he has been perfect in is current home.  Training would be great to help give him some added confidence.  All dogs and puppies require supervision and training. Alejandro “Alle”  is white and golden brown with a heart shaped mark on his left side. He is house trained, crate trained but sleeps on his dog bed without any problems. Alle has a lot of energy and is always up for a walk (long or short). He is friendly with other dogs and children. He loves to snuggle on your lap and play with his toys.  He loves toys; plush ones are his favorite. He likes tummy rubs as well. . He is truly a wonderful little dog. He has overcome being wary of people. Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 19, 2024, 8:57 pm

Story
I truly love Buddy. As a veteran with PTSD, he's helped immeasurably with my ability to cope during times of regression. He loves with all of his heart. It honestly breaks my heart having to write this but we have a 7-month old in the house and he's scared and tends to show aggression when startled. We have to give him up due to a newborn in our home. He has nipped at younger children when they approach and probably has a history of being treated poorly. He was found abandoned in a Costco parking lot over 6 years ago. He has a lot of anxiety and is best in a home with one or two people. He will attach himself to one person and be very protective of that person. He is not getting the attention he wants right now as we focus on our baby. He loves to go for walks and play with his ball. We will truly miss him. I recommend someone who has experience with high anxiety dogs and someone who either lives alone or with a partner. He loves to cuddle and sleep underneath the sheets.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $275 plus taxBertrand is very mild mannered and plays well with other dogs although can get a little over excited when playing outside. He has shown interest in chasing cats. He is houstrained and well behaved when left non crated.  Bertrand recently had a tumor removed from his back leg. The tumor is called a mast cell tumor and is luckily considered 'low grade' meaning that it is unlikely to recur or spread to other parts of the body. Even tho recurrence is unlikely it is still possible so Bertrand will need to be closely monitored for new bumps and have them removed as an extra precaution. He has fully recovered from his surgery and is a happy go lucky boy who says to heck with cancer!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //
