Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Bailey is a sweet, 3 year old mixed breed, guesses on the breed mix, Rat Terrier or JRT/Beagle/Whippet? (guessing!) She is a very sweet girl, has lived with other dogs, but is better with dogs her size or bigger and maybe better to mix with males. She was a little dominant with a smaller, meeker female than her (Terrier!? ) So best with perhaps male or larger, males or can be a solo dog. Interested in adopting? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   3 year old brother and sister pair Bonnie and Clyde are NOT, I repeat NOT anything like their namesakes - zero criminal history.  Maybe a “stolen” treat or “kidnapped” stuffie.   Similar to the story of Bonnie and Clyde, they are a story of love.  Bonnie is the sibling that makes sure to keep an eye on things. She’s the one that will start the puppy, play bow to get the wrestling rolling. Clyde will be the doggo that wants to gently stretch his legs up on your body, waiting for a head scratch. They are never far from each other, and are still learning to be brave and open up, since coming into rescue. They are both non-reactive to dogs on walks, but they are definitely new to walking on leashes in a busy suburban neighborhood, since they’ve been living for the last year at a vet's office in Kentucky. Since they are very curious and still getting used to living in a home, they will require a secure yard.   Bonnie and Clyde are currently being fostered in a home with other dogs and everybody is getting along great. Currently they are sleeping in a crate together at night, but they could easily transition to no crate and your bed.  I mean - what dog can’t love their human’s bed? They spend a good deal of time watching the “nature show” that’s tuned into the back patio door.  If you have an interest in dabbling in agility or fly ball, these siblings would be a fun pair to train. What could be better than to wake up to one of these sweet pups; waking up to two, of course!!  Interested in adopting? Our Foster mom's a little crazy... Or sweet as pie yet she named us after jellies and jams. We're a playful bunch that loves to pounce, play a game of chase, or wrestle with each other. We LOVE LOVE LOVE water!!!! Splashing and rolling around in the kiddie pool or playing with the water hose. After all that playing, we're ready for some snuggles and take a nap in your lap. Everyone we meet kids, dogs or new people becomes an instant friend! Our mama is about 14 lb and she looks just like Chocolate Jam. Our dad was a yellow scruffy about 30 lb and he looks more like Marmalade. We'll be small to medium. Chocolate Jam and Fig will probably be under 20 lb.. Grape Jelly and Ginger Peach will probably be under 30. Apply today for a jelly or jam. Story
We are a retired couple. We have been traveling extensively and just bought a home in Gulfport. All the traveling is hard on Chachi, he needs a place to be without moving around so much. Chachi is a loving little dog who loves to snuggle with you. He can be on his own at home. He likes his "home" kennel. He is good with people once he gets to know them, same with kids. At first he can be very nervous and barking at strangers. He is good on walks and is overjoyed to ride in the car. He is mostly good with other dogs, sometimes barks at larger black dogs. He came from Texas where he was raised by a family that could no longer keep him. We have had him three years and we do love him, but think he needs a more stable home life. Not so much traveling around.

Story
Chachi is a great little guy, but he needs a stable loving home. We are traveling too much. He has become nervous and barky at strangers. He is good on walks, walking by anyone and outside. He is good at home alone. He likes his kennel. He is a very good dog. Healthy. Is good with our grandkids, but he needs to warm up to strangers and his barking might scare a younger child. He needs a stable loving environment. He has done well with traveling but is getting nervous around strangers . He barks at them.

Story
Snapshot of Bolt: Size? Shmedium (I'm bigger than a small dog but leaner than a medium dog!) Activity Level? I LOVE to play and run around. But also have a cuddly side! Noise Level? I'm pretty quiet unless I need something or the other dogs are barking. Good with Dogs? Yes! Good with Cats? Yes! Good with Kids? Yes! But I might knock them down if I get really excited. Good with Strangers? I love everyone! Potty Trained? I need a little time to adjust. But then I'm a pro! Crate Trained? I don't really like my crate. Shedding? Minimal About Bolt: Hi there! My name is Bolt and yes, the name fits my personality! Much like the dog from the 2008 movie of my namesake, I believe that I'm a superhero. I may be small, but I wrestle my 60 pound friends with a gusto far exceeding my size. I came to TCPR after I found myself at local animal control and no humans came to get me. I'm a really great guy so I'm not sure why nobody came to get me. But I have been loving my time at TCPR! I'm still technically an older puppy so I have the energy of an energizer bunny but I'm potty trained! I currently live with other dogs, cats, and kids. I love EVERYONE! Chasing the dogs around the yard and then eventually wrestling with them when we've grown bored of running is my FAVORITE thing! I also love nyla bones, stuffies (without the stuffing because my foster mom prefers that I don't throw stuffing everywhere), Kong toys with peanut butter. They help keep me busy when the other dogs want a nap but I still want to play. I mostly ignore the cats in my foster home unless I'm overflowing with energy. I'll try to plan with them and then they hiss and I back off. The kids are great and I want them to throw a ball or pet me anytime they get the chance. But I can sometimes knock them over if I run by them really fast. My adult foster parents keep a close eye on me when we're all running around! I also try to run out the front door sometimes so its important that my humans keep a close eye on me when they're entering and exiting too! Eventually I get my energy out and will snuggle up with my humans while they lounge on the couch. I'm a total cuddle bug when I'm not trying to run or play! I do well in the car and sleep contentedly in my crate at night. While I don't like to be crated when my people leave, I've learned that I get delicious treats when they go! I whine a little, but it doesn't last long, especially when I see that the other dogs are still with me. I'm making strides and getting used to it. I really enjoy my daily walk and am still practicing my etiquette on a leash. I know my perfect person or family is out there, and I'm so excited for a second chance. My ideal family would be active, have another playful dog, and will be patient with me while I settle into my new home and routine. I would love someone who could teach me to walk better on a leash (I pull a little, but its nothing crazy!) so we could go on long walks or hikes! I would make the perfect companion for someone who is looking to add a second (or third!) dog to their active lifestyle. Bolt is fixed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations for his age. Adoption Fee: $550 + applicable tax MEET ME/ADOPT ME: If you'd like to arrange a meeting or begin the adoption process, please fill out an adoption application by visiting https://www.twincitiespetrescue.org/adopt/ or clicking "adopt me! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Benita! This sweet and cuddly pup dreams of having her very own special spot on the couch, right next to you. Benita is kennel trained and enjoys taking her meals and high-value treats in her cozy space. She’s also leash trained and absolutely loves car rides, making her the perfect travel companion! Bonus points, she is potty trained as well.  While Benita might be a little cautious when meeting new people, she warms up quickly and reveals her loving, sweet, and playful nature. We adore her immensely and know you will too! She would thrive in a home with kids or other dogs due to her playful spirit. If you think you have the perfect spot in your heart and home for this little sweetheart, please fill out an adoption application today. Benita is ready to bring joy to your life! One big thing you should know is they are heartworm positive - but please don’t let that scare you away from adopting them! After they undergo treatment for their condition they will be completely healthy again, and heartworm is not a contagious disease. Because they need treatment, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) program. Click here to learn more about this program. They will get heartworm treatment at one of Ruff Start’s partner veterinary clinics in St. Cloud, so their foster will need to be comfortable getting them to and from the appointments. Treatment will consist of three injections: the first will be roughly 30 days after they enter rescue. Then, the second and third injections will happen 30 days after the first. When they are undergoing treatment, they should be on activity ‘restrictions’ which just means they should relax in their crate or cuddle with you.   Click here to learn more about heartworm disease, which is transmitted by mosquitoes. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can   donate   to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 19, 2024, 9:48 am

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $250 plus tax Meet Melo with the wagging tail that never seems to stop.  Melo is a playful dog who loves to run, play and explore. He is incredibly friendly and affectionate with people. He loves to look out the window and watch TV. Although he can get pretty excited when he spots a squirrel or his favorite team scores. He is reliably housetrained and enjoy’s sleeping in bed with you or in his kennel. Melo would do well in a home with a yard where he can run and play. Melo would do best in a home with no other animals.Kids are great but he will want to play with them and may jump up on or knock them over in excitement. We do not know how Melo is with cats.  **Melo has a condition called hypoadrenocorticism (Addison's disease) which is when the adrenal glands do not function properly. The adrenal glands produce numerous important hormones that help to regulate the body. With Addison's disease the adrenal glands do not make enough hormone to properly regulate the body so supplementation is necessary. There is no cure for Addison's disease but it can be well managed with twice daily oral medication and a monthly injection. Recheck bloodwork every 6-12 months will also be required to make sure he remains on the correct medication dose. Cost for the medication is about $50-60 per month. When well-managed with medication Melo can still live a happy and healthy life with a normal expected lifespan. *Melo has had only one crisis and that was when he was first diagnosed. He has had no signs of sickness since being on his meds.***       Please feel free to fill out an ADOPTION APPLICATION by clicking on the button below.
