When she first arrived, she was scared and unsure with her tail tucked. With strangers, she does still have an initial wariness, but once you are part of her trusted circle, she quickly comes out of her shell. She is a goofy and playful girl who LOVES to cuddle up in your lap, chew on bones and chase balls. Pumpkin is full of affection and gets along great with other dogs. She's also very smart and well-behaved, she's never chewed on anything she's not supposed to, and she's never had a potty accident indoors. She's a pretty quiet girl, but will make noise at appropriate times - which isn't often. She sleeps with the resident dogs at night and happily spends portions of her day quietly in a crate. Meet Ruthie, a Rottweiler both roughly 10/20/2020.    I love all dogs both big and small.  I am kind and mellow and love to play with the resident dog, Spur. I am house trained and quiet as my mom works from home.  She said I am the perfect dog because I am a good eater, not a barker or runner and sleep all night.  I stay close to mom both inside and outside of the home.  I love the crate and often sit in the open crate during the day.  Mom says I need a family who will be patient with me so I can get acquainted and trust.  I am happy to let my mom love me, kiss me, grind my nails, massage my feet and rub my ears.  I love attention and belly rubs once I know and trust you.  A typical Rottweiler who is loyal to his family.  I will be a great family friend but I will need you to allow me to decompress,  possibly taking weeks or months before I am my true self.  The fun and playful Rottie.          Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Forever in Foster Care Meet Reina! This girl is 8 years old and is handicapable!  Reina will be a forever foster in DRM's Program and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION.  Her foster family and DRM have devoted themselves to keeping Reina in their home, where she will be cared for and loved for the rest of her life. Reina was originally rescued from a high kill shelter by an all breed rescue. It was apparent she suffered from neurological issues, but nothing could be found on x-rays of her spine. DRM then stepped in and welcomed Reina into our program to get the help needed so she can thrive!   Reina was born with a condition that caused the nerves from her back legs to brain to not map completely. Sometimes she can be a bit wobbly and sometimes she suffers from incontinence. She is on a special diet that has helped a lot with her potty issues though!  Reina’s favorite activities include snuggling her humans, chewing on bones, going for walks, playdates with her friends and exploring the yard. She also LOVES to chase rabbits and squirrels! When she’s tuckered out, she’ll sunbathe looking out the window or hang out with her foster family.  Reina has lived with other dogs and cats – she’s awesome with dogs but can be very curious about her feline friends. Reina is super smart and knows all the basic commands. Her recall is great (as long as she’s not scouting for bunnies or squirrels) and she is very food motivated to learn anything else you’d like to teach her.
