Due to a difficult past, she can be quite nervous and needs a patient, loving person who can help her feel safe and show her that the world isn’t such a scary place. With time, trust, and kindness, Lexi begins to blossom—revealing a loyal and affectionate companion who adores being petted and staying close to her person. Once she settles in, Lexi's warm personality truly shines. She also does well with other dogs and would benefit from a calm and reassuring canine friend. If you have a quiet home, a big heart, and the patience to help a deserving girl rediscover joy, Lexi could be the perfect addition to your family. The shelter is open Tuesday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Hi there! My name is Buster and I am a very good boy who is eager to find my forever home. No one quite knows my backstory, but I am a friendly and happy pup who is always ready to give you a big smile. My hoomans know that I came into San Antonio, TX ACS and was severely injured. I had a large open wound on my mouth and a big gash on my head. I have healed up nicely now, and you would never physically be able to tell the trauma that I have been through just by looking at me. I am very sweet and I love to give kisses to my human friends. I am a smart pup who is already housetrained and I have a lot of energy, so I would love an active home that can keep up with me! Even though I love to make new four-legged friends, I wouldn't mind being an only dog either. I am around 4 years old, but you would never know it! I am always up for an adventure and I am very curious. I cannot wait to find a family that I can love and take care of!

Hi there! I'm Mack, a loving adult male dog with lots of love to give to the right owner. I am very loyal and will stick by your side through thick and thin. I'm a very affectionate fella, and you'll often find me nudging your hand for some love and pets. It might take me a few moments to warm up to them - but I'm sure you'll love me once we get to know each other. I love going on walks, and my favorite place to explore is everywhere outside - maybe it's the smell of the grass and trees, or all of the new places I have to roll around in. I'm not sure how I feel about other dogs just yet, so I would do best in an only-dog household where I can be the center of attention - but I'm willing to put my trust in you, and maybe with the right owner and some patience, I can learn to be friends with other dogs too, just no littles for sure! If you're looking for a sweet and protective companion, come and meet me today - I promise to give you lots of love and be your very best friend! I do need a board and train prior to adoption to work on my resource guarding issue, but I am told my hoomans at the rescue are covering that for me. They would love to find a family that is interested in me, so after I complete my board and train I can continue to work on all of my new training with them.
