Story
Gabana is a 4.5 year old, 11 pound, Shih Tzu and as you can see, she is so cute! She's also the happiest little lady whose tail is always wagging. She's been a very good mom to her litter of puppies that were born in her foster home, and now it's her turn to find a forever family of her own! Gabana loves other dogs big and small and wants to play with all of them! We think she'd be fine with cats and kids, too! She loves to play with toys and shakes them around, entertaining herself. She's making progress with potty training and has started to tell her foster mom when it's time to go out. Gabana will do well in just about any home. She'd love to have a dog friend but, more than anything, she hopes to find a patient family who will let her settle in! If you have an abundance of toys to share with her, all the better :) Apply to meet Gabana today! Gabana's adoption fee is $625.

Story
Lucci is a little over 7 years old but still has all of the energy of a puppy. Loves snuggles with people and other dogs. He is a bit skittish at first but after getting to know other dogs, he loves them. He’s a big people person. I’m sad to have to rehome him, but I’ll be traveling and I also have a pitbull. I want to make sure that he’s given a loving and proper home. He is up to date on shots, but you’re gonna have to take care of bordatella if you plan on kenneling him. He has a lovely spunky aura and needs alot of attention. He loved toys and playtime! I have a ton of photos, The site wouldn’t let me update them. I can email you some over if you need☺️

Story
Lucci is nearly 8 years old born on 06/19/2020. He is a purebred Shih Tzu, he gets along with other dogs very well after getting acquainted with them. He is very skittish, and can be very jumpy and easily spooked. He is unfortunately not house trained to perfection. Previous owners left him in a crate for long periods and it caused some confusion on where “potty” should happen, I’ve had him nearly 3 years and unfortunately we have not been able to fully kick that habit. With that being said, I did want to be honest about it because I have personally encountered an awful amount of stress from trying to rectify it but he is an older dog and tougher to train out of older habits. Outside of that, he is an extremely adorable dog. He weighs only about 17 pounds, loves to cuddle with people or other dogs, He’s got a lot of stamina and still runs around like a puppy! It saddens me to have to give him away, but I also have a pitbull and now take care of both of them on my own.

Story
Alec – Available Shih Tzu/Miniature Poodle Mix 3 years old, 20 pound neutered male • Active, friendly, playful with other willing dogs • Fetches toy or ball (when in the mood) • Loves his raw vegetable snacks, especially broccoli • Sleeps with his human • Uses his human as just another couch pillow Alec, the little cutie, is looking for his forever home & looking forward to his long hair growing back. He came to us with his hair painfully matted all over & had to be shaved. A playful, affectionate 3 year old, 20 lb. Shih Tzu/Miniature Poodle mix boy, Alec likes going for walks & exploring the yard. Alec is generally a fan of people and likes to sleep with his human. He can be shy at first, but with time, treats & maybe a soft or squeaky toy, Alec shows his friendly side. Alec gets along with the dogs in his foster home. He runs & plays a little with the big & medium size guys. There are no large dogs or cats in his foster home. Alec might need some time before being comfortable with a big dog; with a laid back big dog that time could be short. He would likely not present a danger to cats, but a resident cat might be annoyed by Alec’s interest. Alec likes to play chase with another dog or 2 inside or outside. Alec is often in the mood to fetch a toy inside or out. In all weather, Alec does often prefer you to be outside with him. Alec would like a family regularly to take him for walks for exercise & nose work (he is not a marker). With his above average energy & hunter’s instinct, a small dog secure fenced yard is a plus. Loud & proud, Alec might not be a good fit in an apartment or condo. Alec is house trained, neutered, microchipped & up to date on his vaccinations. He will use a pee pad when the polar vortex sticks around. Alec will require regular professional grooming to keep him looking handsome & comfortably mat-free. So please keep this in mind when considering adopting him. Alec’s adoption fee is $500. Interested? Then go to our website, heathersfosterdogs.org.
