He is a very sweet and mellow dog that is great with other dogs. Henri is very affectionate and quiet (not a barker). He is house-trained and great in a car. Henri is scared of the leash, so his adopter should plan to continue to work with him on this. Henri has dry eye and will need eye meds the rest of his life. He is up to date on shots, neutered, de-wormed, micro-chipped and fecal tested negative. Danny is sweet and adorable and needs sponsors for his medical care. Danny was found as a stray and taken to a shelter. Both of his eyes were damaged so they were removed, he was neutered he got a dental, is up to date on shots, micro-chipped, heart-worm and fecal tested negative. He gets along fine being blind and is good with other dogs. He is about 15 years old, 13 lbs, a shih tzu, He is very comfortable in his foster home so we consider him a forever foster. Emily is looking for a great fur-ever home! She is a 10 pound, female shih-tzu born on 12/05/21. Emily was released by a breeder who decided they did not need her anymore and has never been bred. She has lived in a cage her entire life, so she is not house or leash trained. Because Emily is very skittish and fearful, she will do best in a quiet home with a patient, experienced adopter (with no young children) willing to work with her and let her get comfortable at her own pace. She would do best in a male-only household. She will need a fenced yard with another calm, socialized dog to teach her the ropes. She is starting to show her adventurous side by exploring her foster home, enjoying looking out the window, and being outside. Introducing BOGIE, a Bichon Frise & Shih Tzu cross breed who is just over a year old, weighing approximately 12 pounds. Bogie is a very sweet boy that was rescued from a puppy-mill breeder when he was “too old” to sell. While in foster care these past few months, Bogie has learned what love and kindness is and now seeks it out from his foster mom. Bogie does not have a mean bone in his body and really craves a gentle touch/pet because he finally feels safe. Bogie now follows his foster mom around, especially when outside in the yard, and feels safe enough to come when called. He has even started playing and having fun, doing the “zoomies” in the yard, and truly looking so happy. This past month Bogie has decided it's pretty comfy to lay on his foster mom’s stomach while she watches T.V.. His recovery from his horrible first year of life has been remarkable and we are so happy for him. Because Bogie can be skittish, he requires a calm household, securely fenced yard and another friendly dog in the home who will continue to mentor Bogie’s rehabilitation. He is approved for adult households. Bogie enjoys the companionship of other dogs but more importantly he gets his confidence from them, learning more typical dog behavior. Bogie has good home manners and is housebroken. He is such a great little dog whose future is so bright! This dog has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, provided vaccines, been dewormed, tested for diseases, neutered, and microchipped. Coco is a sweet little 8 year-old, 13lb Shih Tzu who’s always ready for a walk or a snuggle.    Coco has come a long way since she arrived in rescue. She has most of her sight but does have dry eyes.  She’s really drawn to women. not so great with kids and slow to warm up to men but she does if allowed to have time. She’d do great in a quiet home where she could be spoiled, and she does well with the resident small breed dogs.   Coco will be perfect for an adult only home where she can spend lots of time getting love, walks, and attention from owners who cherish her. Chucky was given to ARF when his family’s life changed. Chucky has been such a sweet dog in his foster home. He loves kids! They have dressed him up and held him all day. He would love to sleep with his new kid. Chucky gets nervous around the dogs in foster. He would do best as an only dog.  He doesn't care about cats. He has the softest hair. He had to be shaved when he came to ARF. It will grow out and be beautiful. He loves to be brushed.
