Story
Meet Jinny – Your Happy, Wiggly Shadow!
Jinny is an 8-month-old, 11-pound Shih Tzu mix. She was found as a stray on the streets of Detroit and never reclaimed, this sweet girl hasn’t let her past dim her sunshine. She’s social, affectionate, and ready to find the forever family she deserves.
Jinny is a very submissive, loving little lady who will happily roll over to show her belly when meeting new friends. She truly enjoys people and greets new faces with a wiggly body and bright eyes. She’s energetic and playful, still very much a puppy and is looking for an active family who will embrace her joyful spirit.
She does well with other dogs that are tolerant of her youthful energy and playful nature, though she would not be the best match for senior dogs who prefer peace and quiet. Jinny could do well with dog-savvy children who understand how to respectfully interact with a small dog. She doesn’t seem to mind cats either.
Jinny has demonstrated a good understanding of house manners and is crate trained. As a young pup, she’ll benefit from continued consistency and positive reinforcement—especially when it comes to leash walking, as she’s still learning her outdoor etiquette. At this time, she would do best in a home with a physical fenced yard where she can safely burn off some of her puppy energy. She is not a good fit for tethering.
Like many Shih Tzu mixes, Jinny will require regular grooming to keep her coat healthy and comfortable.
This sweet girl is ready to trade her stray days for couch cuddles, backyard zoomies, and a lifetime of love. If you’re an active family looking for a loyal, happy companion to grow with you, Jinny may just be your perfect match.

Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal’s temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different.
While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program.
