Meet Alba! Her foster affectionately calls her Malani.She is such a sweet, quiet girl who just loves to be near you all the time. Malani has a very calm demeanor. She loves kids and other dogs. She is not yet fully house-trained, but will go outside or on a pee-pad. She doesn’t do too much exploring outdoors. She runs right back in the house after doing her business. Meet Little Peanut! Peanut is an adorable shitzu baby boy.  He is approximately 3 months old.  He is a tiny little boy, but has a big personality.  He is spunky and fun, and did we meantion adorable? He needs a home with another small dog.  He is kid friendly, but because of his size no small kids.  He would love a home where someone is home most of the day. Since he is still a puppy he is not yet house trained or leash trained.   We will only adopt locally to the New Jersey/Philadelphia area and a neuter deposit is required.   To apply for Peanut, please fill out an application: https://peytonsplaceanimalrescue.org/adoption-application/   Peanut is a Benefactor dog: Benefactor dogs have higher adoption fees due to a combination of reasons: they may be a purebred dog, small sized dogs that are in high demand, younger age, etc. They are quickly adopted, even with their higher fees. Their adoption fees allow them to act as “benefactors” to other dogs in our care like Oakley, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is having a life-saving tumor removal surgery , or senior dogs and heartworm positive dogs, dogs with heart problems or broken bones; many that require special medical care or procedures. This allows us to get these other dogs the medical care they need, and gives them a better chance at adoption and a loving home. ##1823459##

Meet Charley! Charley is a sweet 8 year old shih tzu.  He was pulled from a busy city shelter.  He is dog friendly and would do well with another dog in the home.  He would do best with no children in the home, or only older children.  A calm home would be ideal for him.  His vision is not great and he has some eye issues.  He has controlled dry eye and is on some medications that he will be on for life.  He sees well out of one of his eyes, but not the other.  He also has some allergies.  His eye issues don't stop him though - he loves walks and does well on a leash.  Hes working on potty training. Bodie came to our shelter in pretty bad shape as an owner surrender. Little is known about his house manners or previous background before the shelter. He arrived dirty and extremely matted, so unfortunately we did have to have his beautiful fur shaved to give him some comfort. Here, he has tested well with other dogs and doesn’t seem to mind cats. He’s a very sweet boy. Bodie is a 8 yrs old Male Shih Tzu who is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
