He is young and full of energy. He finds himself in rescue after his owner was unable to keep all of her pets.  He an is affectionate social and playful guy.  He likes to sleep under a blanket, play with toys, play tag with his feline roommates and watch the world happen outside the window.  He is cuddly and needs human attention and affection, and he loves food!!  Gru enjoys the company of other cats, and would likely thrive in any home where he gets lots of attention and play. If he is going to be alone for long hours a feline friend is going to be important for him.  Gru does not currenlty live with dogs, but has been exposed to them in the past and with slow and careful intoduction should be fine living with a respectful dog.Gru arrived with some skin issues, and it appears that he has a food allergy.  He will need to be on food free from his allergies for the rest of his life.Gru's adoption fee includes his nueter, annual rabies and distemper vaccines, dewormer, microchip and FIV/FELV test.  All of his vetting has been compeleted.  If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
Mortimer may be a little shy at first, but give him a moment and you’ll see his true colors shine through. Once he knows you’re safe, he blossoms into a loving, affectionate companion who craves attention and cuddles. This handsome guy has had a rough start—he spent time outside where he was often picked on by other cats. Because of that, he’s understandably cautious in new situations. But don’t let that scare you off—Mortimer is all heart. He just wants to feel safe and loved. Mortimer has tested positive for FIV but keep reading: FIV is only transmitted through deep blood-drawing bite wounds. FIV+ cats can happy lives in socialized multi-cat households. FIV+ cats do not have a higher incidence of illness, and live the same lifespan as non FIV+ cats. Adoption fee is $100

Story
Murietta came from a hoarder’s house. The house was so crowded with junk and other cats that Murietta was forced to find a place to call her own - the rafters. It’s been years since Murietta was rescued from that hoarder’s house but the horrors she lived through are fresh in her head as if it all happened yesterday. Years later, she still prefers the rafters. She likes to be up high. Her tower is her security. Murietta doesn’t live completely in her castle in the clouds. When she does venture down to earth, she loves to curl up with her friend Scrappy. Scrappy is very similar in purrsonality to Murietta. He hasn’t been convinced that he needs to interact with humans. He’s fine being left alone. In fact, he insists upon it. Both Murietta and Scrappy are sweet cats. There’s not a bad bone in their bodies. They just prefer cats to humans. Their adopter needs to appreciate their preferences. They’re good cats who’ve been waiting for years to find someone to love them for who they are - sweet but a little broken. Murietta is very bonded to her friend Scrappy. She must be adopted with him. Scrappy and Murietta are currently in foster care. Please contact our adoption specialists at adoption@kittyrevolution.org or submit an application to meet them.

Story
*** I`m in a foster home. Meet and greet can be arranged with an approved adoption application. ***Hey, I`m Coco, let me tell you a little bit about myself: I am a beautiful 6-year-old ragdoll mix, and I thrive on human companionship. I was adopted from Animal Ark a couple of years ago and recently returned to the shelter. When I came back to the shelter, I was described as friendly, playful and affectionate. I might seem a tad reserved at first, but my loving nature will shine once I trust you. Maybe I`m a bit of a diva, but I need to be the only pet in my new home. My former owners said that I was tolerant but not playful toward children. A quiet adult home is probably the best fit for me. Come and introduce yourself to see if we might be a match!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Anders! This fluffy, social sweetheart is ready to be your best furry friend. Anders adores pets and cuddle time and is as gentle and affectionate as they come. He loves being around people and makes an excellent welcoming committee—always ready to greet new faces with his soft meows and sweet personality. Anders is full of charm and silliness. When the zoomies strike, he’ll race around the house and pounce on toys or chase a feather stick with delight—before collapsing into a deep, cozy nap. He may not have pedigree papers, but Anders has the looks and loving nature of a dilute Balinese. He also has a quirky, bunny-like side: he likes to hop around and can be easily startled, so gentle handling is key. He’s happy to be picked up and snuggled as long as you're calm and slow. With his long, soft coat, brushing isn’t just something he enjoys—it’s a must. A few brushing sessions each week help keep him looking and feeling his best. Because Anders startles easily, he doesn’t do well with other cats. He’s met many—some aggressive, some kind—and unfortunately, he’s struggled to find harmony with any of them. He may be okay with a very chill cat who completely ignores him, but in most cases, he’ll do best as the only feline in the home. Anders also lives with a medical condition called  megacolon, which affects his ability to pass stool normally. It’s a physical issue, not behavioral. With a high-fiber diet and a small daily dose of flavorless powder medicine (mixed into a treat like a Churu or Delectable), Anders poops outside his litter box roughly every other day. His foster says it’s easy to clean—just pick it up, flush it, and wipe the spot in under two minutes. In fact, it often makes litter box maintenance easier overall. Anders’ previous family loved him deeply, but they had to surrender him because of ongoing conflicts with their other cats. He was living in a room by himself and only allowed out for a few hours a day. Now, he’s ready for a fresh start—a peaceful home of his own, where he can zoom, explore, and soak up all the cuddles he wants. If you’re looking for a gentle, goofy, and endlessly lovable companion, Anders just might be your perfect match.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. Anders is from a local impound.
