We pulled Colby along with his brother and sister from a high kill shelter in GA when they were 10 weeks old. Their mom is a pure bred Black standard Poodle that was allowed to run and she came home pregnant. All three pup look a bit different, so we are sure there were different dads. Colby looks like he has Brittany spaniel in him but that is only a guess He has long wavy hair a scruffy face and seems to be very low shedding. Colby's brother and sister have now gone to their new homes, and he is anxiously waiting for his family! We think that Colby will be close to 60 lbs when grown. He loves people although a bit shy at first and he loves other dogs. He is one happy boy all the time. We're all just crazy about his cuteness! He is now 8 months old and UTD on shots and has been neutered and microchipped Colby is happy, playful and affectionate. He would be a great addition to any family. If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/   This dog is a 4-5 year old female Standard Poodle who weighs in at 48.8 pounds.  This dog's adoption fee is $600.  If you are still interested, please read more below. This girl’s name is actually Nella. She came to us as a male, 1 year old, golden doodle named Lenny, but surprise she is a girl! The vet also believes she is actually a standard poodle and about 4-5 years old. She is a very gentle, sweet girl, but still very scared of life. She likes to stay in her spot all day unless she goes for a walk. She does great walking on leash, and she loves to walk her same path everyday, multiple times a day! She also loves any sort of edible chew toy that you give her. Nella girl loves to be brushed; it puts her right to sleep!! Because we don’t know her exact story, we have been learning some of her triggers as we go. She is still very nervous with just about everything! It will take her time to settle in. We think there must have been some trauma for her with cars, because she is still nervous around them. She prefers women and has adjusted better to women in the house versus men. Nella has very specific routines that she likes to follow, but she is a very sweet girl!! She would do best in a home without kids, because she likes to be in a quiet, peaceful environment. She doesn’t mind other dogs as long as they happily ignore her, but she isn’t one for really engaging with them. If you have the time, patience, and love to let her settle in on her own time, she would be a great dog for you! She is fully crate-trained, house-trained, and leash-trained! Meet Connor, named after Connor Bedard from the Chicago Blackhawks, and this little guy is already skating toward superstardom. Connor brings heart, hustle, and a whole lot of personality to every shift. Though he’s the smallest of his litter, he plays big with a mighty, affectionate spirit that’s impossible not to cheer for.Right about 2 months old, Connor is a sweet, athletic pup who looks to his humans for direction and loves to “talk” when he’s excited—especially at mealtime or when he wants to be close. He’s submissive, gentle, and loves everyone equally. He enjoys being held, cuddling on laps, and curling up for naps (often with his brother, Tyler), but he’d happily trade the bench for snuggles with his people any day.This rookie is already showing strong fundamentals: he loves to run and play outside, fetches balls and toys, and was fearless tackling stairs—no hesitation, full send. House training is in progress, and because he eats slower than his brother, he’s fed separately so he can take his time and thrive. He’s also getting used to everyday noises like the vacuum with calm curiosity (a little backup, then straight to his crate—smart play).With his adorable curly whiskers, loving nature, and eager-to-please attitude, Connor is the full package: funny, loyal, athletic, and endlessly affectionate.
