Story
Odin is a loving, loyal companion who will be your devoted shadow. He's a true velcro dog who loves very hard. Odin is a large poodle Rottie X that came out this way from California years ago. His owner was not able to give him the proper care and enrichment he needed because of her work schedule and so she left him in our care. We came to know him as a bouncy, sweet, at times protective and even complex boy. He cherishes outdoor adventures, going on long walks, and he's well-trained with great leash manners. We have him crate-trained, potty-trained, good in the car, enjoys playing with his dog pals, and does well in boarding. Odin is a pretty neat and easy dog in the home aside from his tendency to resource guard some things such as couches/beds and high value items. We have spent many hours working with him and believe he is in a great behavioral place to find a home. Odin is very selective with strangers and is a bite risk towards unsuspecting people that push him past his comfort zone. He has undergone training to make him safer around others and has no problem wearing a basket muzzle when socializing or out in public. He has very good leash manners and won't go out of his way to bother any passersby. Odin will be an amazing best friend for a single man or woman, even a couple that can keep up with his rules and boundaries. He CANNOT live with little children and CANNOT live with cats. Odin would do fine with a playful female dog and can have one as a housemate. He may even enjoy a passive playful male. Odin will be protective of his territory and his people. Due to that drive in his nature he is part of our behavioral dog post adoption support program. We will always be available to support the owner that takes this special dog home. Meet Zeppelin! This handsome butterscotch buddy is about 2.5 years old as of 12/25. He was originally purchased for a specific type of training, but as he matured, it was evident that he didn't have the confidence required for such a job. He is better suited as a house dog and companion. His best friend is our cattle dog mix, Toast, and we would love for them to go to a home together. Hi, I`m Abe Lincoln. I`ve been told I`m a pretty special guy—calm, well-mannered, and easy to live with.I`m very much a creature of routine. It took me a few days to settle into eating in my foster home, but once my bowl was moved closer to the dining table, everything clicked. Now I happily eat whenever my people sit down for meals or snacks. I like being part of the action.Every morning starts the same way: I go out to the enclosed backyard to take care of business, then I come back inside and wait patiently by the refrigerator for my treat. That said, if you sit on the couch and call me over, I`ll choose snuggles over snacks every time.I love my dog bed so much that I have two of them. During the day, I like to relax downstairs, keeping an eye on things. At night, I head upstairs and sleep peacefully in whichever bedroom my bed is in. I`m flexible, as long as I`m comfortable and close by.I spend time with my foster`s three-and-a-half-year-old grandson, who visits often. He`s loud and still learning how to be gentle, but I`m endlessly patient with him.I do have a strong interest in squirrels—they`re very exciting, and I`ll bark and try to chase them. I don`t have any other canine companions in my foster home. While I may bark at other dogs, I did live with a small senior dog in my prior home, and I have met bigger dogs before and have done well with a proper introduction. I have also lived with a Cockatiel bird and tolerated it very well out of the cage and even sitting next to me on the couch!I’m well-trained, polite, and eager to please, and I’m not destructive. I respond best to calm guidance and consistency. I’ve made great progress with leash walking and continue to improve every day. I’m comfortable being handled and truly enjoy grooming, baths, and brushing—regular grooming helps me look and feel my best and is a required part of owning a true poodle like myself. Once I’m freshly brushed, I can’t help but strut around proudly!I do have some protective instincts that my future family should understand. I can resource guard my person on walks, am very wary of strangers in the yard, and can react by dashing toward the door when delivery drivers arrive. Because of this, I need a confident, experienced owner who can provide structure and clear guidance.My ideal home is a quieter environment without a lot of constant in-and-out activity. While I’ve done well in my foster home, I truly thrive in a more predictable setting
