Story
Odin is a loving, loyal companion who will be your devoted shadow. He's a true velcro dog who loves very hard. Odin is a large poodle Rottie X that came out this way from California years ago. His owner was not able to give him the proper care and enrichment he needed because of her work schedule and so she left him in our care. We came to know him as a bouncy, sweet, at times protective and even complex boy. He cherishes outdoor adventures, going on long walks, and he's well-trained with great leash manners. We have him crate-trained, potty-trained, good in the car, enjoys playing with his dog pals, and does well in boarding. Odin is a pretty neat and easy dog in the home aside from his tendency to resource guard some things such as couches/beds and high value items. We have spent many hours working with him and believe he is in a great behavioral place to find a home. Odin is very selective with strangers and is a bite risk towards unsuspecting people that push him past his comfort zone. He has undergone training to make him safer around others and has no problem wearing a basket muzzle when socializing or out in public. He has very good leash manners and won't go out of his way to bother any passersby. Odin will be an amazing best friend for a single man or woman, even a couple that can keep up with his rules and boundaries. He CANNOT live with little children and CANNOT live with cats. Odin would do fine with a playful female dog and can have one as a housemate. He may even enjoy a passive playful male. Odin will be protective of his territory and his people. Due to that drive in his nature he is part of our behavioral dog post adoption support program. We will always be available to support the owner that takes this special dog home. Meet Zeppelin! This handsome butterscotch buddy is about 2.5 years old as of 12/25. He was originally purchased for a specific type of training, but as he matured, it was evident that he didn't have the confidence required for such a job. He is better suited as a house dog and companion. His best friend is our cattle dog mix, Toast, and we would love for them to go to a home together. Meet Spice.Spice came to us with her sibling Cinnamon. We think their names should be Sugar and Cinnabon because these two could NOT get sweeter. Guessed to be 8-10 years old these sweet older ladies have are easy as can be! A package deal that will fill your heart and home with so much snuggles and love you will so FULL! Both are potty trained. Friendly with all dogs and all people. Favorite pastimes are laying on Their person ( so lap available is a bonus) and when a lap is not free the find each other and keep each other warm But if you are up and doing chores they are happy to follow you around keeping you company, waiting for a little bit of pets or a potty break in the fresh air. Both girls are spayed and just had their teeth cleaned. Both weigh exactly 10 pounds. They have a clean bill of health and a safe foster to hang with until their forever family shows up. This little dude is full of character, confidence, and just enough sass to keep life interesting. Fallon is one of those dogs that will absolutely make you laugh once you understand him, but he does need the right person who can see past his “tough guy” act. Fallon is affectionate, playful, and bonds closely with his people. He enjoys being near you, loves soft places (especially fresh laundry), and has a funny, expressive way of communicating. Personality & Temperament Confident, vocal, expressive, and full of personality. Fallon likes to “talk” and will absolutely let you know how he feels with little growls and grumbles. This is NOT aggression. This is his personality. He acts like a tough guy, but it’s all bluff. Fallon does not have a mean bone in his body, he just has a big opinion and isn’t shy about sharing it. He thrives with someone calm and confident who doesn’t take his sass too seriously. Compatibility Dogs: Yes, gets along well, may act a little bossy or vocal Cats: Good, however he is likely to pester (typical terrier curiosity) lol Kids: Older children recommended (due to personality and need for understanding his behavior) Training & Skills Fallon is smart and observant. He learns quickly, but like many small, expressive dogs, he needs guidance that is calm and consistent. His biggest “challenge” is not behavior, it’s being misunderstood. If pushed too quickly or handled without allowing him to settle, he will become more vocal and defensive. Very Important – Decompression Fallon requires proper decompression when entering a new home. This means: No rushing interaction No immediate leash work No overwhelming him with people Give him time, space, and calm structure When given that time, his true personality comes out quickly and he settles beautifully. Failure to follow decompression will result in increased vocal behavior and stress, which is exactly what led to his previous return. Special Skills Certified “Tough Guy” Fallon will absolutely let you know he’s ready to “throw paws”… …but it’s all talk. Approach him calmly, give him a moment, and you’ll quickly see he’s all fluff than fighter. (Don't tell him we told you this..) Adoption Requirements • Patient, calm, and confident owner • Willingness to follow decompression guidelines • Someone who understands small dog “attitude” behavior • Home that will not be intimidated by vocally expressive little dog.
