Story
Meet Tippy a lil Yorkie boy! Tippy is the canine equivalent of a shy barista who's slowly starting to make eye contact and tell you his favorite brew! He's very sweet, a little timid, but each day he peels back another layer of his fuzzy heart! Tippy is 9 lb bundle of fluff and feelings, recently rescued from life in a cage at a puppy mill. Tippy has already seen the vet, has been brought up to date on vaccinations and parasite prevention and received a full health exam which he passed with flying colors! He has even received his neuter and dental and is ready to go to his forever home! Tippy loves being outside exploring the backyard, like it's uncharted territory on National Geographic: Yorkie Edition! He's great with other dogs, tho he might let them do most of the talking at first. Don't be offended if he sticks his tongue out at you - it's not personal! It's just alway "out" like a soft little flag that says "Love me, Please!" Tippy's biggest mission now is to learn to fully trust humans again and to know what it actually means to be loved - he's just never had that before. But, he adores being cuddled and will fall fast asleep in your arms like it's the safest place on earth - because to him it is! Are your arms Tippy's forever safe place? If so, apply soon!

Puddin' a.k.a. Sir Wigglebottom a darling and sweet delight, part snuggly sleepy guy part well wigglebottom! Puddin' is a 7 year old Yorkie with the heart of a teddy bear and the energy of a popcorn kernel in a hot situation! He may be a bit more mature on paper, but this tiny guy wouldn't ever show it! Puddin' was rescued as part of a breeder release from a Midwest puppy mill where he lived his entire life prior in a small cage. A whole 6.9 lbs on intake, Puddin' has seen the vet already, received his updated vaccines and parasite prevention as well as a health exam. As with his maturity and the horrible conditions from where he was rescued, Puddin' needed a little help from our Veterinary team - he has been neutered and had to have most of his teeth removed due to decay. No worries tho - this little man will heal quickly and be the best buddy ever! This boys future is as bright as his personality! Are you the right family to share in his glow? Apply now!

Chewbacca is the sweetest little nugget you'll ever meet who is always at your side snuggled up. He's a terrier though, so he can be feisty walking by other dogs on a leash but he's all bark and no bite. He adores his people and would do best in a home with children, another playful small dog and a family who is home often. He does mark inside on occasion but is housetrained most of the time. He His fee is $850. FILL OUT AN APPLICATION IF INTERESTED AT: www.recycleddogsrescue.org/adoption-application

Story
Orleans is an adorable, gentle Yorkie who is still learning to come out of her shell. She has made incredible progress—from staying in her kennel to curling up on the sofa with her foster family. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and even the cat, finding comfort in their presence. Orleans is working on potty training, both outside and on puppy pads. She’s treat-motivated and happily goes outside when she knows a reward is waiting for her. Because she’s naturally timid, Orleans would do best in a calm home with patient adults or older children. She would also benefit from a confident dog companion who can help her adjust to a daily routine. With love, patience, and positive reinforcement, Orleans will continue to blossom and become a devoted and loving companion. ----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.

Story
Good with other dogs • Food motivated • Tolerates toddlers but is nervous with fast movements Meet Tripoli, a sweet and affectionate little dog who loves to be pampered! She enjoys being brushed and bathed—she might even think of it as a spa day. Above all, she wants to be near her people and would thrive in a quiet home where she can spend her days by your side. Tripoli is spunky, courageous, and a little bit silly. She sleeps in bed with her foster at night and naps happily on the floor or couch during the day. She currently uses potty pads indoors and hasn’t been too eager to venture outside in the snow. While she’s very loving, Tripoli can be nervous around loud noises and fast movements. She paces when she’s anxious and has some separation anxiety—she becomes very distressed when she’s not near her preferred person. A calm, low-key home would be ideal for her, and she may be a great match for a retired couple or someone who is home most of the time. She has tolerated her foster’s toddler but gets nervous if there’s too much sudden movement. When visiting a friend’s house with energetic kids, she became very anxious, so she’ll be happiest in a peaceful environment. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who wants nothing more than to be close to you, Tripoli could be the perfect fit! ----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue.
