Story

Dude is 3 years old. My family and I adopted him from Tacoma, WA. I spent the most time with him, so when I moved out of the house I noticed my family wasn’t approaching his emotional and social needs correctly. He’s an energetic dog who likes to run around outside (needs to be on leash or in fenced area). When I lived at home he would poop outside, but when I left my family trained him to poop inside on a mat. He can be retrained to do either. He has not been neutered, so he marks his territory often. Outside potty time is not enough for him, so we have doggy diapers for him so he does not ruin furniture or packages, and also pads he uses. I am looking for a household that currently has no pets, with a fenced yard or someone with a consistent walking plan for him, and patient humans that will be kind to him as he adjusts to a new home. Dude can get very anxious around new people, so he’ll need time to warm up. He is trained to sit, and to go to his crate when we say goodnight.

He's a terrier though, so he can be feisty walking by other dogs on a leash but he's all bark and no bite. He adores his people and would do best in a home with children, another playful small dog and a family who is home often. He does mark inside on occasion but is housetrained most of the time. Meet Bindi! Tiny Bindi is a purebred Parti Yorkie. The name sounds fun but really just refers to her unique Yorkie coloring. Bindi is around 4 years old and weighs just 7 lbs. She is good with other dogs and friendly with people. She does need a moment to warm up to strangers but once she trusts you she will be your best friend. She has not lived with young children and we suspect she will be a bit too overwhelmed by them. We recommend her for a home without children or with children over 12 only. She does not have any cat experience. Bindi loves exploring the yard, chasing squirrels and zooming around. Inside she is calm and will happily take naps with you. She is not a couch potato though. Bindi is a flight risk and will take the opportunity to run out of the front door if you are not careful. She needs a secure yard. She is working on potty training so quick access to the outside is helpful. Bindi is a lovely little girl who would love a family of her own. She is vaccinated, spayed and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $450. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Meet handsome Monty! Monty came into the rescue just in time! Due to his skin allergies and infection, his family thought the only solution was to put him down. Enter our caring team and fabulous Veterinary team, Monty now has an excellent prognosis with proper care. Monty needs about 2 more weeks of the medicated baths and medications to cure the skin infection - the result of a flea allergy! Completely manageable for long term care with quality flea meds. Monty, a 6 years young, neutered Yorkie, is fantastic on a leash, has great house manners, and will make someone the best buddy. He is vocal and sings, makes little joyful noises when happy and lets you know when he'd prefer a different option in his day ;-) ! Monty is the best boy now and will be even better once his skin heals. Monty can go home now with someone who will appreciate and manage his skin regimen, or should be cleared by our vet by New Years and ready for his forever home.

Currently in a Vancouver foster home Hello… my name is Hari. I’m a 5-year-old Maltese mix girl, about 6kg, and for the first time in my life… I’m learning what it means to live for myself. For many years, my whole world was a tiny metal cage. No sunlight. No soft voice calling my name with love. Only the sound of humans demanding one thing from me over and over—to be a mother, again and again, even though I never got to hold or keep any of my babies. Whenever my puppies were taken from me, I tried to chew through the bars to reach them. My teeth became worn down from trying so hard… trying to find them, trying not to give up. I love people more than anything. I feel most at peace when I’m beside a human. If the house is empty for too long, I might become anxious… not because I’m difficult, but because I spent so many years wondering if anyone would ever stay. I’m learning that family means “forever,” and I hope you can show me what that feels like. I don’t want to be a tool anymore. I want to be a family member. I want to spend the rest of my life giving and receiving love—real love, the kind that stays. I’m searching for someone who will become my very first true family.
