Story
Meet Lilianna! She is a 4-year-old, 22 lb, Yorkie Terrier mix who was found as a stray in CA and is currently in a foster home. She is shy and skittish, and it will take some time to win her heart. She can be nervous and does not enjoy long car rides or new places. She is potty trained/house trained. She is a happy dog with lots of energy. She is very smart and playful with other dogs. She would love to have another dog in the home. She could possibly be an only dog but she would need a home where someone is home most of the time. She is extremely smart but has a sense of independence. She's stubborn and will listen when she's ready. She is a high flight risk since she won't come on command. She is quick and will dart out an open door and can be an escape artist. Due to her tendency to run, we are looking for a home for her within a 10-mile radius of the Edmonds area. We are looking for an adult only home for her with no children or grandchildren. She is spayed and microchipped. She's up to date on vaccination, and her fee is $550.

Story
Meet Your New Shadow, Sock Thief, and Bed Buddy 🐾 This tiny 8-lb Yorkie mix may be small, but his loyalty is huge! He’s a gentle little guy who starts off a bit nervous, then quickly decides you’re his person once trust is built - and from that moment on, congratulations, you have a devoted sidekick for life. He loves other dogs, gets along with cats, and is happiest when he has a furry friend to bond with. Toys are a favorite pastime, and treats? Let’s just say he would absolutely sell his soul for one. Training is a breeze when snacks are involved and he’s already mastered ‘sit’ and ‘paw’. He’s fully potty trained and pee-pad trained (overachiever alert 🚨). He’s polite in the house—no chewing shoes or furniture—but fair warning: if a sock is left unattended, it may mysteriously disappear and reappear later in his bed like a treasured prize. This little gentleman prefers companionship over crates and would do best in a home where he’s not left alone often (pet companionship is fine). He’s mastered doggie stairs and believes beds are for sleeping with people or dog friends. His energy level is low to medium, making him a perfect snuggle-then-play-then-nap kind of pup. He’s looking for a calm, patient family (ideally with another friendly dog) who will give him the time and love he needs to feel safe. In return, he’ll give you unwavering loyalty, endless affection, and possibly return your missing socks. If you’re ready for a tiny best friend with a big heart and excellent cuddle skills, this little Yorkie mix is ready to meet you! 🩷 NOTE: Because he’s pint-sized and a bit sensitive, Chewy would be happiest in a home without young children, or with calm, dog-savvy kids ages 12 and up who understand how to respect a little guy’s boundaries. 🐾

Story
Duty Free is a one year old Yorkshire Terrier. He is a gentle and extremely sweet Yorkie who has already become a loving member of his foster family. Duty has adapted well to his post-rescue life, and in only a few short weeks has opened up and showed his true personality. He now fully trusts his two fosters, wagging his tail every time he sees them and enthusiastically following them and trying to engage them in play. He thoroughly enjoys running around and playing with his cat friend and could be introduced into a multi-pet household. His favorite part of the day is couch time, where he cuddles on your lap while you brush him (which instantly calms him). He is still learning how to walk outside on a leash (if he gets nervous, he’ll just lie down on the ground) but is getting better every day, and is definitely becoming more comfortable and active outdoors. Duty is currently living in downtown Seattle, but a family that likes long walks or has a fenced yard to run around in would probably make him very happy. Duty Free naps throughout the day and will sleep through the night. He sleeps in his dog bed, which is kept in the living room during the day and in the bedroom at night. He has grown a healthy appetite and loves his food. He’s also an easy dog to groom, patiently taking baths. Duty is very calm and well-behaved in the car. He is very smart and will be very trainable once he feels comfortable. He is still learning how consistently to go to the bathroom outside, but this is increasing in frequency in both a pet area and on walks in the park. He still need some puppy pads inside, but hits them 9 out of 10 times now, which is a massive improvement in such a short amount of time. Duty Free doesn’t exhibit any aggressive or otherwise concerning behavior; the main areas he’s working through are general shyness, especially on walks, and potty training. He is becoming somewhat motivated by treats, but praise seems to be having an even better effect. Despite what he’s been through, he’s soaking up love and interaction like a sponge and is trying so hard to be a good dog. Once he finds his forever home, he’ll be such a happy and loving part of his new family.

Story
Meet August! He is a 1.5-year-old, 11 lb Maltese/Mini Poodle mix with a sweet, sensitive nature and playful young-dog energy. He is fully house trained and sleeps through the night, happily snuggled on the bed or burrowed into cozy spaces. August loves car rides (he sleeps the whole way), chewing bones, de-stuffing toys, and playtime. He would do well with a playful canine companion who can handle puppy-style, bitey play. August does best when allowed to free roam and does not tolerate crates or pens due to fear of confinement when left alone. When confined, he panics and may harm himself; when free, he is significantly calmer. Crate training may be possible in the future with slow, careful work but is not required in the right home. He struggles with separation anxiety, leash reactivity (lunging, pulling, whining), and is initially defensive with strangers, requiring slow introductions. Positive-reinforcement training is in progress and ongoing support will be important. He would do best in a quiet neighborhood, rather than busy city life or apartment/condo living. August is looking for a dog-savvy, patient adopter in a low-traffic home who understands fear-based behaviors. In the right environment, he is an affectionate, loyal companion who bonds deeply with his people. August is fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $500.
