Story
Dude is 3 years old. My family and I adopted him from Tacoma, WA. I spent the most time with him, so when I moved out of the house I noticed my family wasn’t approaching his emotional and social needs correctly. He’s an energetic dog who likes to run around outside (needs to be on leash or in fenced area). When I lived at home he would poop outside, but when I left my family trained him to poop inside on a mat. He can be retrained to do either. He has not been neutered, so he marks his territory often. Outside potty time is not enough for him, so we have doggy diapers for him so he does not ruin furniture or packages, and also pads he uses. I am looking for a household that currently has no pets, with a fenced yard or someone with a consistent walking plan for him, and patient humans that will be kind to him as he adjusts to a new home. Dude can get very anxious around new people, so he’ll need time to warm up. He is trained to sit, and to go to his crate when we say goodnight.

Story
Meet Teddy! Your Pocket-Sized Best Friend Teddy is a 1-year-old Yorkshire Terrier with a big personality packed into a 10 lb body. Affectionate, playful, and endlessly charming, this little guy has one mission in life: to make friends with everyone he meets. He bonds quickly and loves being close to his people, whether that’s snuggling on the couch or following you around to see what you’re doing. Teddy has tons of puppy energy and enthusiasm, and he’ll thrive with someone ready to give him daily enrichment, playtime, and lots of attention. He loves fetch, soft toys, and zooming around with happy wiggles. When he’s done, he’s all cuddles and belly rubs… hence his nickname, Teddy Bean. He’s still young and learning, so his ideal home will be patient and ready to guide him with gentle training. He’s mostly potty trained, very food motivated, and eager to please. Crate training and leash walking are both works in progress, but Teddy is smart and capable, he just needs consistency and encouragement. If you’re looking for a cheerful, affectionate, easy-to-love companion who will greet every new person like a long-lost friend, Teddy might be your perfect match. Teddy is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and currently on monthly parasite prevention.

Chewbacca is the sweetest little nugget you'll ever meet who is always at your side snuggled up. He's a terrier though, so he can be feisty walking by other dogs on a leash but he's all bark and no bite. He adores his people and would do best in a home with children, another playful small dog and a family who is home often. He does mark inside on occasion but is housetrained most of the time. He His fee is $850. FILL OUT AN APPLICATION IF INTERESTED AT: www.recycleddogsrescue.org/adoption-application

Story
Meet Bindi! Tiny Bindi is a purebred Parti Yorkie. The name sounds fun but really just refers to her unique Yorkie coloring.  Bindi is around 4 years old and weighs just 7 lbs. She is good with other dogs and friendly with people. She does need a moment to warm up to strangers but once she trusts you she will be your best friend. She has not lived with young children and we suspect she will be a bit too overwhelmed by them. We recommend her for a home without children or with children over 12 only. She does not have any cat experience.  Bindi loves exploring the yard, chasing squirrels and zooming around. Inside she is calm and will happily take naps with you. She is not a couch potato though. Bindi is a flight risk and will take the opportunity to run out of the front door if you are not careful. She needs a secure yard. She is working on potty training so quick access to the outside is helpful. Bindi is a lovely little girl who would love a family of her own.  She is vaccinated, spayed and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $450.   We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon! Anyone who has had one knows how special a Yorkie is, they are smart, intuitive, sometimes a bit stubborn but of so loving and affectionate, once they have bonded with you there isn't much else like it! Story
Shy Asha - a 6 year old yorkie experiencing the big world for the first time. Asha currently relies on Ellie, they came into the rescue together. We consider them semi-bonded, and hope they could be adopted together, if not, Asha will likely need a home with another dog to pair with to give her direction and confidence. Asha will need a family who understands that life hasn't been fair, and can provide the patience and care needed to bring Asha to her full self and find joy. Asha was named by the small humans in her foster home as she reminded them of the adorable Ewoks in Start Wars. We agree! Anyone who has had one knows how special a Yorkie is, they are smart, intuitive, sometimes a bit stubborn but of so loving and affectionate, once they have bonded with you there isn't much else like it! Asha has seen our vet, had a grooming and is learning about life and love in a family. She is reserved but is affectionate with the children in her foster home. Asha will have her spay and dental soon and be brought current on her vaccinations included in her adoption donation.

Story
Hello… my name is Hari. I’m a 5-year-old Maltese mix girl, about 6kg, and for the first time in my life… I’m learning what it means to live for myself. For many years, my whole world was a tiny metal cage. No sunlight. No soft voice calling my name with love. Only the sound of humans demanding one thing from me over and over—to be a mother, again and again, even though I never got to hold or keep any of my babies. Whenever my puppies were taken from me, I tried to chew through the bars to reach them. My teeth became worn down from trying so hard… trying to find them, trying not to give up. I cried quietly and waited, hoping someone would finally come for me. One day, someone did. I was rescued—saved from that place—and for the very first time, I was given a chance to live a life that belongs to me. A life where I never have to breed again. A life where nothing precious is taken away from me anymore. I’m a very calm, very gentle girl. I hardly ever bark. And when I see people, fear isn’t the first thing I feel—joy is. I walk toward you slowly, shyly, but with a little wagging tail… hoping you’ll notice me. Hoping you’ll love me. But everything outside that cage is new to me. Home life, walks, daily routines, learning where to go potty… I’m five years old, but in many ways, I’m just beginning. I will need someone patient, someone kind, who can teach me what every dog should’ve known from the start—that I’m safe, that I’m wanted, and that love doesn’t disappear. I love people more than anything. I feel most at peace when I’m beside a human. If the house is empty for too long, I might become anxious… not because I’m difficult, but because I spent so many years wondering if anyone would ever stay. I’m learning that family means “forever,” and I hope you can show me what that feels like. I don’t want to be a tool anymore. I want to be a family member. I want to spend the rest of my life giving and receiving love—real love, the kind that stays. I’m searching for someone who will become my very first true family. Someone who will fill the years I have left with warmth, safety, and memories I’ve never been allowed to have. If you choose me… I promise I will give you every bit of my heart. With hope, Hari 🤍🐾
