Story
Tonga lived in an overcrowded shelter in Guadalajara, Mexico with over 350 dogs in very poor conditions. She was surrendered to our rescue group with 2 puppies of a litter she had. Unfortunately only one of her pups survived. Tonga is a healthy adult dog, extremely affectionate who gets along well with most dogs and loves to be around people. She would do great in a home where she is not alone for long periods and where she can truly be a companion dog for someone. She is in perfect health and ready for her furever family!

Story
Zuni is an 11 year old male purebred Yorkie that weighs about 5.5 pounds. I have to be honest, he is a cranky old dog; latches on to 1-2 people at the most. He also has irritable bowel disease and epilepsy. He takes medicine for both - hasn't had a seizure since he started the medicine (8 years ago). The IBD is a newly diagnosed malady; however, he has also done well on the medicine he takes for this condition. He is not a big fan of long walks - he very much enjoys being inside with his person (people); although, if you have a properly fenced yard (as in no way to go under the fence), he enjoys running around. He is easily scared/startled, so a quiet home is probably best. There should not be any children or other pets in the home. This is hard for me to do...he has been with me since he was 6 weeks old; moving out-of-state has forced the issue. I know it will take a special person to deal with him, but I think he's worth it

Story
Meet Ms. Sunny a.k.a. sunshine! She is an adorable six month old pup that originally came from the Yakima animal shelter. She had been part of a hoarding situation with her siblings and parent. She is learning the ropes of life and how to be a confident dog. She is often scared of new people or new places, but we are working diligently to get her more socialized and used to going in public. She loves her little six-year-old boy and bonds very quickly to her human mom. She becomes a social butterfly that just wants to play play play and get into mischief given the chance. She is learning potty training in her new foster home and beginning the basics on training. To help her adjust she is crated when strangers and new kids come into the home and slowly left out once she knows everyone is ok. The more consistent someone is with giving her a safe space the more she will acclimate. She is smart and will blossom with a dedicated individual or family. She is good with other dogs - cats are scary to her and she will bark as if they’re going to harm her when she sees one. She is a goofy puppy that loves to be held when she knows you and bonds fiercely to her people. She could make a good emotional support dog if someone invested in training her for social settings. She is not a dog new kids can come hug and pet - yet - but she loves to snuggle and kiss kids when she knows them! She’s just under 20lb Spayed microchipped and vaccinated

Story
NAME: JON VOIGHT   AGE/GENDER: 8 YEARS OLD/MALE NEUTERED   BREED: TERRIER MIX (POSSIBLY YORKIE MIX?)   TEMPERAMENT: Sweet, a little shy with strangers, affectionate   WEIGHT: 12ish lbs   HOUSE TRAINING: Good on a consistent schedule.   CRATE TRAINING: Sleeps in his crate at night but loves to be with his people.   OTHER DOGS: Good with other dogs his size and larger dogs who aren't pushy. It's more the vibe than the size for him. He is not going to appreciate high energy puppy vibes. He's more chill. But he doesn't really care for the dogs and merely tolerates them. While he will upon occasion engage with another dog, he's more focused on his people.   CATS: He doesn't really care about the cats in the foster home.   CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 8 and older   ADOPTION DONATION: $450   HEALTH: Jon is neutered, had a recent dental, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, and is current on vaccines.   Your adoption donation goes toward offsetting the cost of this vet care as well as other incidental costs of care.    HISTORY: Sadly, Jon's previous owner passed away and no one in the family wanted to take the little guy. Rather than having him go to a shelter, a CA rescue got involved and transported him here to WA to find a new family. Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked to find JON a great forever family and that is exactly what we plan to do!   NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: Ah, Jon. What a little sweetheart. He did have an elderly owner so is quite used to having someone all to himself so can  be a little bit needy in the sense that he wants to be with his people more often than not . While he tolerates the other dogs in the home, he merely shares their space and only has eyes for his people. He is initially a shy boy. He hid in his crate when he first got into his foster home but after observing and seeing everyone was cool, even the smelly teenager, he decided the crate life wasn't for him. That day he found his voice and let everyone know he wanted to be part of the family.   While initially nervous of people, he will jump into sitting laps and give kisses. People standing he will avoid until he really gets to know you. He is also leery of men initially which is odd as his former owner was male. However, he does do well with the man of the household currently, gives kisses and loves to hang on the bed. He's found his new BFF.   However, as he's only been used to one owner and is a little terrier mix, he does have some resource guarding of his people. This means that when he's with his person, he will guard them. Even if he knows the other person in the home! This shouldn't be tolerated and Jon is easily corrected; however, he has to be corrected. Otherwise he will growl and even nip others when protecting his person. So in his foster home, Jon will protect his foster dad from his foster mum who he loves when foster dad is at work. Jon will also protect his foster mum from his foster teenager who he sleeps with when she's doing homework. This is easily corrected but unfortunately is something to be aware of and to not tolerate. Jon is not allowed to resource guard anyone in his foster home but he is still learning, so this is a tendency that may manifest in a new home. Otherwise he's a pretty easy guy as long as he's not allowed to get too big for his britches.   Jon came from a quieter household and so a busy home with many visitors may be overwhelming for him. This is easily rectified by putting him in a crate when throwing a party. He'll appreciate that, being the party police kinda guy that he is. People need to give him a little time and space to acclimate. I get it, he's a really cute guy... but not on the first date!    All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and Martingale collar (or a harness, if necessary), depending on each dog's particular needs. Each dog also receives a "Tour Gear Bag" full of brochures, coupons, and supplies for your new pup!   ABOUT MOTLEY ZOO: Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue! We are a rock and roll themed, volunteer-run, foster based, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization based in Redmond, WA. Motley Zoo is a FOSTER BASED organization, which means our rescue animals are cared for in private foster homes (or partnering pet stores) where the animals receive one-on-one care and attention in a home environment until permanent placement is found. We do not have animals available for casual viewing and same day adoption. Due to the volunteer run structure and decentralized/ virtual  nature of a foster based group, an approved application is required to make an adoption appointment for any of our animals. If you are interested in one of our Adoptable Roadies, please email adopt@motleyzoo.org and request an adoption application (the auto-responder also has a link to our application). We will work toward getting you approved as an adopter so that we can set a time for you to meet your new best friend! Motley Zoo also runs "Rock Star Treatment Dog Daycare" in Redmond, WA where proceeds from this service, help support our rescue's vet budget- however, this is NOT a shelter. For more information about daycare or training, check out www.rockstartreatment.org. Please visit our website www.motleyzoo.org for more information! Thanks for considering adoption- we look forward to helping you find your best match in a furry friend. Rock on- The Motley Zoo Crew June 1, 2023, 8:35 pm

Story
Lilianna is a 4-year-old Yorkie Terrier mix and weighs about 22 lbs. She was found as a stray in CA and is currently in a foster home. She is potty-trained. No kids for now. She is extremely smart but has a sense of independence. She's stubborn and will listen when she's ready. She can be a flight risk since she won't come on command. Good with other dogs. She'll take some work not to be so shy and skittish, but she's sweet and can do the work if you win her heart. She is spayed and microchipped. She's up to date on vaccination, and her fee is $550.
