Story
Meet Lilianna! She is a 4-year-old, 22 lb, Yorkie Terrier mix who was found as a stray in CA and is currently in a foster home. She is shy and skittish, and it will take some time to win her heart. She can be nervous and does not enjoy long car rides or new places. She is potty trained/house trained. She is a happy dog with lots of energy. She is very smart and playful with other dogs. She would love to have another dog in the home. She could possibly be an only dog but she would need a home where someone is home most of the time. She is extremely smart but has a sense of independence. She's stubborn and will listen when she's ready. She is a high flight risk since she won't come on command. She is quick and will dart out an open door and can be an escape artist. Due to her tendency to run, we are looking for a home for her within a 10-mile radius of the Edmonds area. We are looking for an adult only home for her with no children or grandchildren. She is spayed and microchipped. She's up to date on vaccination, and her fee is $550.

Story
🐾 Meet Gene! 🐾 Gene is a sweet and gentle soul who’s a bit shy and timid in new situations. It usually takes him a few days to warm up to his primary caregiver, but once he does, he becomes a loyal and loving companion who enjoys belly rubs and will happily follow his person around the house. Gene can be a little nervous around men, especially when they approach or are at a distance, and he may react with guarded barking, even after he’s settled into a home. For instance, despite being with his current foster family for two weeks, he still barks at the male partner. (The same happened with previous foster) However, Gene tends to relax when men are sitting or lying down, and he’s much calmer in those situations. His cautious nature just means he needs a bit of patience and understanding. When it comes to food, Gene can be a bit picky. He prefers his kibble with a bit of wet food mixed in, and he absolutely loves cheese as a treat! He’s okay around other dogs but he’s more of an observer and doesn’t really engage in play. ----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.

Story
Tarot is an affectionate, playful girl who adores both dogs and cats. She thrives in the company of other animals and would love a home with furry companions. She’s full of energy and always ready for playtime, especially with her favorite toys! While she hasn’t had much leash training yet due to weather and space to roam, she’s eager to learn. Tarot was making great progress with potty training but had a minor setback after the arrival of her new foster siblings —she just needs a little patience to get back on track. Above all, she’s a sweetheart who loves attention and cuddles. If you're looking for a loving, playful companion, Tarot is ready to meet you! ----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Story
Meet Tippy-a lil Yorkie boy! Tippy is the canine equivalent of a shy barista who's slowly starting to make eye contact and tell you his favorite brew! He's very sweet, a little timid, but each day he peels back another layer of his fuzzy heart! Tippy is 9 lb bundle of fluff and feelings, recently rescued from life in a cage at a puppy mill. Tippy has already seen the vet, has been brought up to date on vaccinations and parasite prevention and received a full health exam which he passed with flying colors! He has even received his neuter and dental and is ready to go to his forever home! Tippy loves being outside exploring the backyard, like it's uncharted territory on National Geographic: Yorkie Edition! He's great with other dogs, tho he might let them do most of the talking at first. Don't be offended if he sticks his tongue out at you - it's not personal! It's just always "out" like a soft little flag that says "Love me, Please!" Tippy's biggest mission now is to learn to fully trust humans again and to know what it actually means to be loved - he's just never had that before. But, he adores being cuddled and will fall fast asleep in your arms like it's the safest place on earth - because to him it is! Are your arms Tippy's forever safe place? If so, apply soon!
