Story
Monte is a delightful, energetic, and loving neutered pit bull mix, weighing about 89 pounds. At around 3 years old, he’s full of life and ready to find his forever home. After undergoing TPLO surgery on his right hind leg, Monte has been cleared for adoption and is feeling back to 100%. Although he has a partially torn cruciate on his left hind leg, his vet advises against surgery unless he shows signs of pain. Monte enjoys running zoomies in the yard and relaxing with a good chew bone. He gets along well with other dogs his size but plays rough, so future housemates should be at least 40 pounds. He knows basic commands like sit, stay, lay down, go to your crate, and waits for his food until released. His favorite treat is French fries! Monte is crate-trained and will let out a yip when he needs to go outside. He’s excited on a leash but calms down after a while, though he still pulls. His foster parents taught him not to jump and his new family will need to continue to reinforce the behavior, so a home without children under 10 is recommended. While Monte has been fine with cats from a distance, he seems too interested, and my cats are scared of him. Therefore, a cat-free home is best. Monte loves cuddles and thinks he’s a small lap dog, despite his size. Monte is fantastic with new people outside the house and is always a hit at the vet. At home, he’s cautious initially but relaxes once introduced by me or my husband. I believe he’ll do the same with his new owners and home. Monte is eager to find a loving family to share his life with! If you are interested in Monte, please complete our application on 1luckydogrescue.org or email olveiry@yahoo.com along with some information about the yourself.

Story
Meet Monty a calm, gentle, and incredibly loving dog. He enjoys meeting new people and dogs, though he can be a bit protective of his owner around larger/unfixed dogs. He is a very quiet dog, barking only very rarely if he is interested in something. He likes long walks, and enjoys stopping to sniff and smell wherever possible. His favorite place is the beach! He loves the sand and running around on an open beach. He is house trained. He enjoys cuddling on the couch, particularly napping on top of you and loves to follow his foster dad. He loves all of his toys and can even play fetch, though he is still learning ‘drop it’. He knows 'sit', 'stay', 'come', and he's happy to learn more tricks with the right treats as he is very food driven. He’s got a strong prey drive and may not be good in a home with cats, as he enjoys chasing birds and other small animals. He may be a couch potato but he also gets the zoomies and loves running and jumping around where there is space. Monte is a 60lb pitbull mix with a nice brindle coat. Overall, Monte is a wonderful dog and would make a great companion for someone who is looking for a quiet dog. Please contact Patricia at olveiry@yahoo.com for additional information or complete application on our website, 1luckydogrescue.org. If emailing, please share some information about the type of home you will provide for Monty.

Story
Meet Mia - The one, the only, the miracle mutt! This 38 pound cutie was past due for euthanasia and was saved in the nick of time #euthlistsurvivor. At just 2 years old she has a heck of a lot more life to live! Mia loves to start her day off by giving her people lots of love and wiggles. As soon as you start walking towards her food for breakfast you can expect her dancing to begin. It’s guaranteed to make you smile! While Mia is protective of the home, she is a very chill princess inside! She loves watching tv (yes full on invested in plots and all) and laying on the couch with her ball. Anything Food Network is sure to grab her attention. She is a very silly girl who loves to play and chew on her toys (certified super chewer). If you need some comedic relief, she’s the girl for you. No furry roommates please - Mia is her best self when she’s the only pet around. Kids? Mia loves meeting them but is best suited for a house with kids ages 10+ only due to her playful, jumpy personality. Mia is still working on her leash training. While she does deal with heightened anxiety outdoors, the right person can help her feel at ease. Mia has a super stylish pink muzzle that protects her #gooddogswearmuzzles or her favorite ball will do the job to keep her mouth occupied when she gets spooked. Her trainer verified that it’s more than just a ball, it’s her anxiety relief. A calm neighborhood or open park is the ideal place to walk Mia - busy streets and complexes can be overwhelming for this shelter survivor. Mia needs a slow introduction to all men - but once you prove your good intentions you’ll win her heart over. Bonus Features: - Potty and grass pad pro - Crate trained! She will snooze if you have to leave the house for a few hours - Part time doorbell + full time cuddle bug If you’re looking for a loyal companion, a genuine sweetheart, and someone to make you laugh you need to give Mia a call! She is currently being fostered in sunny Orange County, California and is taking applications for her forever human!

Story
Meet Pantera – Your New Ride-or-Die Sidekick! Pantera is a fabulous 4-5 year-old, 60lb american pitbull terrier mix with the looks of a supermodel and the heart of a survivor. This gal was stuck at the Stockton Shelter for three whole months and get this, she even had eight adorable puppies there. Her little ones were snatched up faster than you can say “treat,” but poor Pantera was left behind, just waiting for someone to see the magic in her. Time was running out, and she was heartbreakingly close to being euthanized. But don’t worry this story has a plot twist! Pantera's unshakable zest for life was impossible to miss. She wiggled her way into everyone’s hearts and straight into a second chance. Since leaving the shelter, she’s become a fan favorite basically the Beyoncé of the dog world. She’s a total people person (well, dog), a canine social butterfly who also plays really well with other pups her size or larger. She’s down for a game of fetch or a good squeaky toy showdown, but also perfectly happy to Netflix and snooze on the couch next to you. Pantera’s got that golden combo: mature enough to be past the zoomies-all-day phase, but still fun, playful, and full of love. After being used as a baby-making machine (ugh, don’t get us started), she’s ready for the softest couch and the happiest forever home. Pantera would thrive best in a large breed experienced home free of small critters or small kiddos. Could that be with you? Fostered in Bay Point!

These pups are in Livermore, California too!

Story
We need to rehome our 6 year old bull terrier. He is in need of a more experienced owner. He is house trained but does need to be monitored around some things (like children’s toys and stuffed animals). He is good with younger kids but he does tend to bump into them unintentionally like most dogs of his breed do. He needs a home with a little bit of room to roam around and does require decent walks as he does have a lot of energy
