Story
Prince is 2.5 years old he was born May 21,2023. He is crate and potty trained, walks on leash fine, my 9 yr old daughter can walk him. He is high energy and needs someone active, who can take him out and exercise/work him. He is super smart and loves attention and getting his belly rubbed. He was raised around several small children and is child proof. He know sit, down, and waits to eat on command. I'm a single mom and have gotten sick so I can't get him outside as much and don't have time to continue his training. He is friendly with other friendly dogs but can be reactive to other dogs that don't give him space. All he needs is more socializing and training.

Story
Hey there, I'm Cassia! I'm a 5-month-old, spayed female, tan brindle, short-haired, Pitbull mix puppy looking for my furever home! I'm a super-affectionate lovebug who just can't wait to spend time with my people. My favorite things are to sniff, sniff, sniff all the exciting smells outdoors while running around with my people. I'm working really hard on practicing 'sit', even when I just can't contain my excitement! I would do best in a home with some dog experience, since I have lots of energy and will need to keep working on my puppy manners. I'm a great learner and can be quite treat motivated! While I currently weigh about 25 lbs, I'll soon grow to a full size of 60-75 lbs. I love to play rough, so I would do best with dogs my size or larger, and sometimes prefer male dogs. Are you ready for a loving, playful, beautiful gal to be part of your family? Bring everyone in to meet me (including any resident dogs) and ask for Cassia ID# A982940Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Story
Hello! My name is Tammy and I'm a spayed, 1-year-old, pit bull that currently weighs about 47lbs. I'm a fun loving girl with a rambunctious playstyle that's ready to go, go, GO! I love to do zoomies around the yard when I'm not busy wrestling with my friends. I'm hoping for a family that has experience with bully breeds like me and has an active lifestyle. I would love to go running, hiking, and exploring with you! Since I'm such a feisty girl that's still working on impulse control and manners, I would like to be the only dog in the household so I can perfect my skills! I am also a total lovebug that's affectionate once I've had a chance to get my wiggles out. For more information about me, just ask Customer Service about Tammy! ID# A965273 I recently went to the PHS pop-up in the Hillsdale mall! Here's how I did: I had a chance to take Miss Tammy Wigglebutt to the Hillsdale Holiday pup-up. She was incredibly patient, observant and just the best girl. She did well in the car, she now knows how to get in / off by herself. She needs a little boost to get onto the back seat. At the mall, honestly , I was nervous seeing how crowded and crazy it was. Tammy did great! She was observant of the overwhelming environment, and did not react to any loud noises/ music/ kids as we walked across the mall. She was next to me all the time. A lot of folks wanted to pet her even before I reached the venue. Tammy gently received all their pets in a sit position. At the venue, she sat on her blanket as she received overwhelming amount of attention from the folks who wanted to say hello. She did not jump and never showed sings of being overwhelmed. She wagged her tail to everyone’s pets. She observed everyone pass by. She almost slept off in the last 20 mins. People were impressed by how calm she is in a crowded place like a holiday mall. Some asked about her info, and hopefully they visit her soon. We got back to Lantos, she was sleeping on her ride back. Tammy was happy at her dorm wiggling her butt as I said goodnight.Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Story
Waiting for fur-ever home for 1 year Hello Friends! My name is Junior, I'm a neutered, 2 year old, pit bull/boxer mix who currently weighs around 62 lbs. I'm an energetic boy that loves running full speed whenever I can! I will bound right into your heart with my adorable antics and rambunctious personality. Since I am a big boy that tends to be on the exuberant side, I would do best in a home with dog-savvy kids aged 10+. I'm a smart boy that already has solid 'sit' skills, but I am still working on my leash skills (I'm just so excited). Zoomies and rope toys are my absolute faves! If you are looking for a playful, goofy new friend that can't wait to get outside and have all the fun, please stop by and say hi. Just ask Customer Service about Junior! ID# A953695 I recently went on a hike with a PHS volunteer! Here's how I did: Junior had an off-site adventure today at Robert E. Woolley State Park. When I first entered his roof dorm, he greeted me with lots of energy and jumping. Junior was willing to get into the back seat of my car, though he needed some assistance coordinating his back legs to climb all the way in. On the drive, he was calm, quietly observing and sniffing out the window. At the park, Junior handled passing bikes, joggers, and walkers very well—he showed no reaction to people approaching from behind or ahead. He seemed indifferent to all the birds we encountered, including Canadian geese grazing on the grass, crows on the ground and flying around, seagulls overhead, a heron in the lagoon, and other birds out on the bay. While he did pull toward other dogs, there were no signs of aggressive body language or vocalizations. We made one lap around the lagoon, with no hesitation crossing the inlet bridge or stepping onto the fishing pier. We spent some time on the pier watching people and the planes landing at nearby SFO. When Junior appeared restless, we left the park and went window shopping on Broadway. He pulled toward a few dogs there as well, but continued to display friendly, social body language, and I was able to maintain a safe distance. When we returned to his dorm, we ended the trip with a training session. Junior was calm, focused, and responsive during this time.  Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Story
Hello there, I'm Dahlia! I'm a spayed, 1-year-old, Pitbull/ German Shepherd mix that currently weighs about 52lbs. I'm a sweet, curious lady that would love to go home with a family with kids 10 years or older that has experience with shy gals like me. My new family should also be prepared to continue my training since I'm still working on my doggy social skills and learning to share. If you have a mellow resident dog, please bring him or her in so we can say hello before I officially join the family! I would love to meet the whole household before going to a home, so come on by and say hi! For more information, just ask Customer Service about me. Dahlia ID#A959886 I recently went on a field trip with a PHS volunteer! Here's how I did: Dahlia started our journey to Golden Gate park with a drive through the city in my Jeep. Dahlia was very well-behaved on the ride. Staying in the back as we drove; listening to tunes and enjoying the sun and the breeze. I had the roof panels off and she enjoyed the wind on her face as we made our way to the park. She was apprehensive at the start of our hike. It was a warm, sunny day and the park was bustling. As we made our way past pickup basketball and volleyball games, playgrounds and picnics her caution turned to curiosity. She is a a great hiker, never pulling at the end of the lead and coming back to my side when I called her. She enjoyed cooling off in the ponds that we passed and admired the statues and sculptures. She wouldn’t drink water out of the travel bowl that I packed, but was fine drinking out of the lid to my Nalgene. I recommend either a larger travel bowl or a hard sided style in the future. We were in the park for a few hours and she had a blast. She napped on the ride back to the shelter and she seemed to know the way back to her dorm. She did give me that “where are you going?” look as I gave a wave through the window as I left. She is a sweet gal and was very well behaved. She is an able hiker and knows her name and recalls easily when asked.  Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by.
