Story
Kay is a lovely girl who has been coming out of her shell and is turning into a social pup. She bonds quickly to humans and likes to stay very close. She doesn’t seem to have any issues with other dogs, and passes them calmly, as long as they don't get too close to her preferred human friend. She is friendly and loving, and will make a great addition to just about any home. Kay is currently in a foster home. If you're interested in her, please email KSwanson@cityofberkeley.info First, we'll set up a virtual meeting with their current foster family via phone, Zoom, or Facetime, to provide you with more detailed information. Then, if you feel that Kay might be a good adoption fit, shelter staff will gladly coordinate an up-close and personal meet and greet with your potential family member. Thank you for your support! • I’ve been at the shelter for 30 days or more and weigh over 35 pounds, so the Friends of Berkeley Animal Care Services (FoBACS) have SPONSORED MY ADOPTION FEE! I’m a great dog who just needs a chance, and I’m ready to prove that big dogs make the best dogs!

Story
Cupcake is a sweet, seasoned pittie who’s mastered the art of relaxation and snuggles! This gentle lady adores the softer side of life: cozy plush beds, warm blankets, and, of course, you by her side to provide endless pets and love. A true couch potato and devoted foodie, Cupcake enjoys leisurely strolls that let her take in the sights without any rush. She can be a little stubborn at times, but with a touch of patience (and maybe a treat or two), she blossoms into the ultimate cuddle buddy. Cupcake’s heart is as big as her love for comfort — she’s happiest when she’s soaking up attention, quietly observing life from her favorite spot, or gently nudging you for more pets. She may not be the fastest runner or the most adventurous explorer, but her calm, loving presence makes her the perfect companion for anyone looking to share quiet, cozy moments. With Cupcake by your side, every day feels a little warmer, softer, and filled with love. Cupcake is currently in a foster home. If you're interested in her, please email KSwanson@cityofberkeley.info First, we'll set up a virtual meeting with their current foster family via phone, Zoom, or Facetime, to provide you with more detailed information. Good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Beau is a 6-year-old male Pit Bull with a huge heart and an even bigger personality. We rescued him from the Humane Society, and from the moment he came home, he showed us just how much love he has to give. At first, Beau got along well with our other two dogs, but over time, tensions grew and he began to struggle sharing space with them. After working with him and exploring all our options, we've come to the heartbreaking decision that Beau would be happiest - and safest - in a home where he can be the only pet. Beau is full of life and love and is looking for a home where he can be someone's one-and-only. He thrives on companionship and will bond deeply with his person. If you're looking for a loving, goofy, affectionate best friend who will always be by your side, Beau may be your perfect match. ⚠️ Behavioral Considerations Beau needs to be the only pet in the home. He has a history of conflict with other dogs, including our own, after an initial period of getting along.
