Kay is a lovely girl who has been coming out of her shell and is turning into a social pup. She bonds quickly to humans and likes to stay very close. She doesn’t seem to have any issues with other dogs, and passes them calmly, as long as they don't get too close to her preferred human friend. She is friendly and loving, and will make a great addition to just about any home. Kay is currently in a foster home. Cupcake will steal your heart when you are not looking. She is extremely shy at first, and takes time to trust new people. But if you take the extra time to get to know her, she will reward you ten times over. She’s still easily spooked by new things – we don’t think she had much exposure to much of anything in the past. So the sights and sounds (in particular) of the shelter are still a little intimidating. But once Cupcake gets a little comfortable, we can start to see glimpses of who she really is. She comes out of her shell a lot when playing with other dogs – she is very dog-friendly. Cupcake would love to go to a home with another dog to show her the ropes. And she hugs tight to people she trusts. Are you her person? She hopes so!

If Jambalaya is your comfort food, you need to meet this dog. He's a shy boy at first, very unsure about everything. But he loves treats, and after sharing a few with him, you'll see his wiggly self emerge. Jambalaya doesn’t seem to have too much experience with leash walking, or much of anything else really. He’s also a little shy around other dogs and can be a bit nervous when passing them on leash. He’s a young guy still learning the ropes. But Jambalaya could not be sweeter. He will lean into you for pets, and his favorite thing (once he's comfortable with you) is to sit between your legs with his back to you for long, soothing pets. This boy is a real love bug, and appears to be housetrained.

Kai is a big strong guy who is a little uncertain about strangers at first. He will need a special home willing to handle his strength and also his quirky personality. Treats help warm him up initially. Once he knows you, he’s your best friend and very loyal. He’s also playful and tons of fun; he’d rather play with his people than any toys. Kai also loves to walk and just being outside. He loves to check out what’s going on and to sniff around. Kai is also not the biggest fan of other dogs passing too close, but it’s manageable if you are also strong enough to handle him – he does look to his person for direction a lot. But he will still need to work on his skills with other dogs. He also seems extremely housetrained in the shelter environment.

We adopted Bubbles from SF Animal Care & Control about 5 months ago. The assured us that he had been thoroughly aggression tested. He spent some time at the shelter hanging out with our existing dog and they did fine. We brought him home. He is extremely loving and affectionate. He wants to be by your side all the time and wants to lay on top of you. He is a giant goofball. He and our other dog are besties. They constantly snuggle and play. Despite all of his best qualities he has exhibited some qualities that are above our pay grade. He has shown significant treat/food aggression and has issues with chewing. He needs an owner with the capacity to help him with these behavior issues
