Story
Meet Mia – the one, the only, the miracle mutt! This fabulous floof was rescued from the brink just in time and is now living her best foster life—but she’s ready for her forever home! At just over 1 year old, Mia is still bursting with that puppy sparkle. She’s a professional toy enthusiast (seriously, squeaky, bouncy, chewy—you name it, she loves it) and will happily sprawl out on the carpet to chew to her heart’s content. Mia’s daily routine includes calm, sniff-filled walks and a little leash training—which she's crushing, by the way. She’s an A+ listener and has that “main character energy” when she struts down the sidewalk. Important note from Mia’s team: This queen prefers to rule her castle solo—no other pets, please. But don’t worry, she’s polite and unbothered by dogs she passes on walks. She just prefers her own company and that of her humans. And while she loves people, she can get bouncy when excited, so a kid-free kingdom is ideal. Looking for a loyal shadow, part-time doorbell, and full-time best friend? Mia’s your girl. She’ll alert you when someone’s at the door and be your snuggle buddy the moment she senses couch time. House-trained? Almost there! She's a grass pad pro (with outdoor access) and doing great. She’s also crate-trained and snoozes like a champ while you're out or overnight. Currently accepting applications for: Best Friend for Life. Mia’s overflowing with love, tail wags, and the kind of joy that fills a room. She’s being fostered in sunny Orange County, CA—and she can’t wait to meet you.

Freyda is the ultimate silly girl! Freyda has medium energy and is always ready to curl up next to someone for cuddle time! Freyda is crate trained and potty trained with great at home manners. This Dolly Parton lovin’ cowgirl likes to spend most of her time lounging on the couch, sunbathing in the yard, or occasionally getting a small rush of energy for the cutest zoomies you’ve ever seen. Freyda is food motivated and loves her kibble. She loves to wear clothes and is usually rocking her favorite grey hoodie on her neighborhood walks. Freyda is great with other dogs with proper introductions. In the home she’s very passive, submissive, and calmly playful. She always loves being around the other dogs in her foster home and looks to them for reassurance at times. Freyda loves having little and big dog friends with proper introductions and she would thrive with another mellow dog in the home! She currently loves hanging out with the resident pitbull in her current foster home and is also very patient and sweet to the crazy jack russell chihuahua puppy in her foster home as well. Freyda is very eager to go on walks and would love someone patient and strong just like her. And bonus: Freyda is also cat friendly! Freyda is friendly to all people she meets and is very trusting. Freyda is the perfect cuddle sized pittie who will do anything for a good belly rub. Freyda would enjoy a house with medium exercise, a comfy couch, a sweet dog sibling, and lots of love.  Freyda is currently being fostered in Los Angeles, CA. If you would like to meet her, please fill out our adoption application on our website www.californiabullyrescue.org/adopt

Story
The best way to describe Dahlia is it will be hard to say goodbye when she finds her fur-ever home! Dahlia came to us after almost being euthanized at a shelter. We can’t believe that such a good girl was facing such a grim future. Dahlia has shown that she has house manners, family manners and dog manners. Dahlia’s energy level varies. If she’s playing with her dog friends she is very active, and she would love a couple mile walk. But on the other hand, in a calm environment, Dahlia will play with her toys and relax. Dahlia is potty trained. She has had no accidents since being with us inside of the house. Dahlia is also crate trained but would benefit from continuing to crate train while her family is out of the house and at night. Dahlia is smart, loyal and wanting to learn more everyday. Dahlia would be a good dog for a variety of circumstances. She really is the ‘perfect’ dog! Dahlia is being fostered in Monrovia, CA

Meet Junebug — the little lovebug who dodged the doom and is ready to zoom into your heart! Just 40 pounds of pure joy, Junebug is a petite pitbull terrier mix with a big personality and an even bigger smile. Rescued just in time from the Visalia Shelter’s euthanasia list (phew!), this happy-go-lucky gal is about a year old and still rocking her goofy puppy energy. She’s a smarty-paws who gets along great with other dogs and was cool as a cucumber around cats at the shelter. Basically, she’s the social butterfly of the canine world — minus the wings, but with a wagging tail. Currently living her best foster life in San Jose, Junebug is ready to charm her way into her forever home. Want to meet this wiggly sweetheart? Story
Meet Pantera – Your New Ride-or-Die Sidekick! Pantera is a fabulous 3-to-4-year-old pitbull terrier mix with the looks of a supermodel and the heart of a survivor. This gal was stuck at the Stockton Shelter for three whole months—and get this, she even had eight adorable puppies there. Her little ones were snatched up faster than you can say “treat,” but poor Pantera was left behind, just waiting for someone to see the magic in her. Time was running out, and she was heartbreakingly close to being euthanized. But don’t worry—this story has a plot twist! Pantera's unshakable zest for life was impossible to miss. She wiggled her way into everyone’s hearts and straight into a second chance. Since leaving the shelter, she’s become a fan favorite—basically the Beyoncé of the dog world. She’s a total people person (well, dog), a canine social butterfly who also plays really well with other pups. She’s down for a game of fetch or a good squeaky toy showdown, but also perfectly happy to Netflix and snooze on the couch next to you. Pantera’s got that golden combo: mature enough to be past the zoomies-all-day phase, but still fun, playful, and full of love. After being used as a baby-making machine (ugh, don’t get us started), she’s ready for the softest couch and the happiest forever home. Could that be with you?

Story
Meet Benjamin – the Big Hunk of Love You Didn't Know You Needed Don’t let the muscles fool you—Benjamin is 70 pounds of pure, cuddly gentleman. This 1.5 to 2-year-old Pit Bull mix is basically the canine version of a yoga instructor: calm, collected, and cool as a cucumber. The second he strolls into the room, his chill vibes are impossible to miss. Benjamin is not just a pretty face—he’s got brains too. Fully potty trained? Check. Knows his basic commands like sit, stay, down, and comes when called? You bet. Leash walking is a work in progress, but he's food motivated and a fast learner. (Hint: bribe him with a snack and he’s all yours.) He’s a total toy enthusiast—fetch, chew toys, squeakers—you name it, he loves it. He’s also a social butterfly with other dogs his size and incredibly gentle with kids. Basically, he’s everyone’s favorite dude at the dog park. Got squirrels? Birds? Cats? Benjamin’s got his eye on 'em. So, maybe skip the small animals in the house—he’s a little too into them. Crate time? He’s all about it. Ben will happily retreat to his crate for naps or me-time, even when the humans are home. And if you let him, he’ll try to squeeze onto your lap like he’s a chihuahua in disguise. (He’s not. But it’s adorable.) All in all, Benjamin is the ultimate family dog: sweet, smart, gentle, and goofy in the best way. He’s currently living his best foster life in Novato, CA, just waiting for his forever people to come find him.

Story
Hello world, I’m Cheesecake—yes, like the dessert, and just as sweet (with a little bit of sass)! I’m a squishy-faced, wiggly-bummed English Bulldog, around 5 or 6 years young, and I’m currently accepting applications for my forever snuggle squad. My vibe? Think: spa day every day. I’m all about the chill life—sunbathing like a pro, gnawing on my favorite tough toys, and drifting into the kind of naps dreams are made of (bonus points if I get to snore like a tiny freight train). Now, I do come with a shy side, especially when meeting new folks—men in particular can take me a little longer to warm up to. But give me time, patience, and a consistent routine, and BAM! I’ll be your ride-or-die couch buddy. I’m looking for a low-key, introvert-friendly household where people get my need for space and slow introductions. I’m cool with mellow doggie roommates as long as we meet politely and don’t rush into anything serious (boundaries, people!). Crate life? Oh, I LOVE it. My crate is my personal zen den—safe, structured, and 100% Cheesecake-approved. I’ve also got 12 weeks of professional training under my (adorable) belt thanks to Lee Johnson of BeSpokeK9, and I come with a lifetime membership to the Cheesecake Glow-Up Club: Ongoing group classes 1:1 training sessions Boarding options Priority swimming pool access (yes, I have pool perks!) And support from my trainer for life—shoutout to @boooshank on Instagram! So, what do you say? Ready to add a little bulldog magic to your life? I’m currently being fostered in Novato, CA, and would love to meet you. If you’re into soulful eyes, a snuggly squish, and a pup who’s working hard to be her best self, I’m your girl. Apply to adopt me at www.californiabullyrescue.org/adopt. I’ll be waiting (probably napping, but still waiting).

Story
Bruce was found sadly abandoned in an orchard in Modesto, left to fend for himself. When the vet reached out to his previous owner through his microchip, they hung up on them 💔 But despite that heartbreak, Bruce is ready to start over with a family who will truly love him. Bruce is a big, bulldozy, goofy guy who’s still adjusting to rescue life, but he’s already showing his true colors: mellow, silly, and with a strong bulldog personality. Honestly? He’s kind of a mix of high maintenance and low maintenance. He’ll happily nap the day away, especially if you let him crash on the couch (he’s all about being cozy), but when he wants something—whether it’s dinner, water, or the back door open—he’ll definitely let you know. His favorite things include: ✔ Playing fetch (he loves his ball) ✔ Exploring the neighborhood on walks ✔ Butt scratches and head rubs ✔ Naps on soft surfaces Like many bulldogs, Bruce isn’t perfect—he’s got some quirks we’re working on. He can be possessive with his toys (balls especially) and thinks your food should be his food. But he’s fully house trained, and with structure and the right guidance, he’ll thrive in a bulldog-savvy home. He did well with other dogs, and is good around older kiddos! Bruce is strong and doesn’t always know his size at 66lbs, so older kids or adults would be best for him. Breed experience preferred. If you’re looking for a hilarious, loyal couch potato with a little bit of sass and a lot of heart, Bruce might just be your guy. 🖤 Apply to meet Bruce today and give this good boy the second chance he deserves! He is being fostered in Los Gatos.
