Story
MEET SHIBA! This big, sweet girl is named Shiba! Shiba is around 12 years old and was surrendered to Philly's animal control shelter when her former owners moved and couldn't bring her along. She was timestamped for euthanasia due to the shelter being so full but thankfully, she caught the eye of a City of Elderly Love foster family and is now ready to find the perfect home! Shiba is the definition of a gentle giant! She's about 85 lbs. of pure sweetness; she's basically a toasted marshmallow. Her favorite thing to do in the world is spend time with her human friends. She loves to lay next to you on the floor and would be an amazing work-from-home assistant. She also enjoys a short walk in the neighborhood, tossing around her rope toys, playing tug, and doing zoomies in the yard! She already knows basic commands such as 'sit' and 'stay'. Shiba is completely housebroken and will let you know when she needs to go out. She's also crate trained and even likes to nap in her crate! Shiba never even barks while at home in her foster home! So despite being a senior, she has great energy and a perfect laid back, gentle personality. Shiba is not currently living with other pets in her foster home but did well in several meets with dogs at the shelter. She does sometimes bark at other dogs on walks, but mainly because she's interested in meeting them. Shiba is strong on the leash, especially when she sees a squirrel or rabbit but her foster family is working on her leash skills and she's much better with a no-pull harness. Despite being 12, Shiba is in great physical shape and shows no signs of arthritis! She did require surgery to remove tumors along her mammary chain which were biopsied and shown to be malignant carcinomas. The surgeon was able to get as clean of margins as possible and there are no other signs of metastasis at this time but she should receive routine checkups as she continues to age. Shiba is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love! She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Interested in adopting her? Story
We rescued Dale from a kill shelter in Georgia with intentions to rehome. He is heartworm positive and we have already begun treatment. Treatment should last no longer than 3 months. Unfortunately, our dog at home does not like Dale and is causing tension in the home which is not an okay space for Dale to heal in. Dale is extremely lovable. He loves cuddling, being pet, scratched and hugged. He wiggles and wags his tail in excitement at everyone. He is scared of steps and loud noises. He does not bark AT ALL. He is extremely quiet and potty trained. I am looking for a home that can take Dale in that can help him through recovery and give him all the love that he deserves. I think a home with low activity and without other animals is probably best for Dale at this time. Happy to provide more information and answer any questions.

Story
Unfortunately looking to rehome our dog Grover after our ability to provide adequate time and care for him has changed. Grover is a 2 year old pitty who loves people. He is medium size about 60lbs. Grover loves cuddles, playing, running around, chewing bones, fetching a tennis ball and sleeping. Working on some reactivity to other dogs, but he hasn’t had a negative interaction with another dog while under our care. Grover initually suffered from separation anxiety. We crate trained him, but now he is comfortable being out around the house by himself. He doesn’t show signs of destructive behavior (doesn’t chew things up when left alone). He needs some help to not pull on a leash. Although, he is getting much better. He is up to date in shots, meds, and is fixed. Looking for a loving home for our sweet boy.
