This super handsome set of ears with a little dog attached is Will! Sweet Willie is a ~three year old pup who absolutely loves getting affection from his people, loves his walks and treats, and loves to chomp on your leftover veggie scraps from dinner. Will was found running loose with no collar or chip, and was taken in by his current foster dad in Drexel Hill, PA (near Philly). Will is perfectly healthy and up-to-date on all of his shots and preventatives, and is of course also neutered. I'm looking for a new home for my sweet boy because Will isn't good with cats--and I have three of them! Will is really just the happiest, sweetest boy, and deserves the best possible home. Will currently lives with and gets along great with my resident dog, and can likely get along with other dogs given proper introductions (but no dog parks!). Riley joined our family when she was found being abandoned on the side of the road. She has been a loved member of our family for years. It is with a heavy heart that we are looking to re-home her as we have recently welcomed a baby into our family and we can no longer provide Riley with the care and time that she needs. Riley is a sweet dog who would do best in a single-pet household with older children who are familiar with dogs as she has high energy and loves to play. Riley loves her people and shows her affection by cuddling and laying belly up for belly rubs as often as possible. Riley would be a great companion for a family who has a fenced in yard where she can run and enjoy time playing with her humans. We love Riley and would love to see her go to a loving home!

MEET NELLIE! Nellie is an 8-10 year old pittie who was seized for cruelty and neglect by Philly's Humane Law Enforcement team, completely emaciate. She spent some time in the shelter before she hitched a ride to City of Elderly Love and never looked back! She's now ready to lay down some roots in a low-key home with a family who can help Nellie's world remain small due to her difficult past. Nellie has the most unique face with wrinkles galore, soulful golden eyes, and pouty lips. She also has some muscle loss in her head but now that she is at a healthy weight, it's less noticeable. Despite looking larger in photos, Nellie is a peanut! She has short little legs, a peanut head, and (now) a nice round belly. Nellie is currently living with another dog but prefers her own space where she can spread out. She tolerates him, but can get overstimulated around him easily and isn't afraid to tell him to beat it if he's being annoying. Because of this, we think she'd be happiest as an only-pet or with another lower-key dog. Nellie loves her crate and you can sometimes find her curled up in it without being prompted. Nellie takes a little time to warm up to new people and can be anxious in new settings (like an unfamiliar car ride or during a vet visit) but settles in wonderfully and will be your very best friend if you offer her a treat. She loves being petted and scratched and will bonk her head into your leg or flip over on her back to let you know she'd like some lovin'. We really don't know anything about Nellie's past before entering the shelter its safe to say she's been through a lot. She doesn't require much - a quieter home where she isn't asked to go on tons of adventures but can get a nice stroll through the neighborhood and a comfy spot to sit in the sun would be a dream come true. MEET DUKE! Ever seen a cuter polar bear? This is Duke! Duke was found as a stray in Philadelphia and brought to the animal control shelter. Duke was timestamped for euthanasia due to overcrowding but he joined City of Elderly Love instead just in the nick of time. Duke came to the shelter completely emaciated but immediately started packing on the pounds with basic nutrition. It's clear he had been trying to fend for himself for some time. We immediately treated him for an upper respiratory infection and a urinary tract infection. In addition to the most ridiculous ears, Duke has a stunning white coat with just a couple splashes of brown. Duke has loved meeting everyone he's interacted with and tends to get smiles everywhere he goes. He's food motivated and a quick learner. He's an A+ snuggler and regularly checks in just to give you a kiss or two. Since Duke was a stray, we don't know his exact age but he's estimated to be around 8 years old. That means that he can easily keep up while you're out adventuring but he's also good for some hard napping during the day. Duke can still be a little mouthy or jumpy while roughhousing so we suggest he goes to a home without small children. He is currently living with a small dog and he has met and interacted with several new dogs of various sizes since joining the rescue. He loves to romp around, wrestle, and play "bitey face" with other dogs! Duke and foster family have worked through housebreaking and crate training though we expect every dog to have some accidents while adjusting to a new home. If you're looking for an easy-going but still energetic "semi-senior", Duke may be the guy for you! Duke is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love! We rescued Dale from a kill shelter in Georgia with intentions to rehome. He is heartworm positive and we have already begun treatment. Treatment should last no longer than 3 months. Unfortunately, our dog at home does not like Dale and is causing tension in the home which is not an okay space for Dale to heal in. Dale is extremely lovable. He loves cuddling, being pet, scratched and hugged. He wiggles and wags his tail in excitement at everyone. He is scared of steps and loud noises. He does not bark AT ALL. He is extremely quiet and potty trained. I am looking for a home that can take Dale in that can help him through recovery and give him all the love that he deserves. I think a home with low activity and without other animals is probably best for Dale at this time. Happy to provide more information and answer any questions.
