Introducing Joey, the charming canine with a stunning appearance that will make your heart skip a beat. With a mix of boxer and staffy, he exudes an irresistible charm that is hard to resist. But Joey is not just a pretty face, he's also a bundle of energy waiting to find his perfect match. If you're an active individual who loves staying on the move, then Joey just might be the perfect companion for you. He thrives on physical activities and is in search of an adopter who can match his energy. Whether it's going for a jog in the park or embarking on an adventure-filled hiking trip, Joey is ready to accompany you every step of the way. After a day at the park Joey enjoys watching tv on the couch. While he may take a little time to warm up to new furry friends, Joey loves the company of other dogs after a slow and patient introduction. Imagine the joy and excitement of watching him engage in playful antics with his newfound buddy. It's a match made in heaven! But that's not all that makes Joey's tail wag with excitement. Nothing brings him more joy than going on exhilarating car rides. Feel the wind in your hair as you hit the open road together, with Joey's infectious enthusiasm filling the air. It's an experience that will leave you both smiling from ear to ear. And when it comes to playtime, Joey has a favorite toy that he cherishes above all else – his beloved Blue Football. Watching him chase, pounce, and catch it with pure delight is a sight to behold. With Joey by your side, you'll never have a dull moment, as his playful spirit is simply contagious. Now, Joey is eagerly waiting for his forever family to step forward and give him the loving home he deserves. So, if you're ready to embark on a thrilling adventure filled with love, laughter, and lifelong memories, then Joey is the perfect furry companion for you. Don't miss out on the chance to make him a part of your family – he's just a wag away! Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future from a city that has an animal crisis. We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wondering our streets. So many have been dumped and cannot find their way home. Many never even had a home and were born on the streets. WE gave them a chance. Every animal deserves a chance. We know if adopted by you they will be loved and cared for . We believe in our local and out of state applicants. There is a reason we drive to the Pacific Northwest every 2 weeks. You are worth the drive. We have AMAZING adopters and we need more like them. No matter if you live here in Houston, the Pacific Northwest or Canada we welcome you! Thank you for considering to adopt and not shop.If we are in Houston, then how can you see our posts? Spring Branch Rescue has fosters all over the Pacific Northwest allowing us to post in specific cities. Yes our rescue is in Houston. Our available animals live with foster families. This is a win for you as the transition from our home to yours will be a much easier one. We do have foster homes in your area. This is why you are able to see our posts. Unfortunatelly Meet & Greets have been cancelled due to Covid Restrictions. Almost all our animals traveling have been adopted. We have been doing this since 2019 and very successful. Story
Hi, I'm Zeus! I'm a 5-year-old staffy. I've had some ups and downs, but I'm ready to find my forever home. I really need somebody that's going to give me a structured life, with rules and boundaries. I enjoy structured walks with time to play on the playground, and tug is definitely one of my favorites! I will play fetch for a while... pretty cool that I just learned to bring the ball back instead of just chewing on it. I don't mind cats, but with other dogs I need a slow intro. Mostly, I just want to share your snacks and cuddle on the sofa with you. Animal Profile: Zeus is an estimated 5-year-old, 60 lb neutered male American Staffordshire Terrier who is looking for a loving forever home to call his own. His former owners shared a rental home with his current caretaker and then just up and left. He has been taken care of (rather than surrendered to a shelter) by this good samaritan ever since, and we are helping to find him a new home. Zeus is now crate trained and house trained and has obedience training too! He is friendly with all people and has lived with older children without any issues. Zeus was previously leash reactive but now walks politely with training tools; he will need an adopter willing to use a training collar to manage his leash reactivity. Zeus currently lives with other dogs and does fine with that as long as toys are not in the picture; he is prone to resource guarding toys (with other dogs, not people) and so toys would need to be managed in a multi-dog home. Zeus does live with cats and is OK with them -- good boy! He is currently fostered in Vancouver, WA and ready to meet you! Adopter Profile: Bully breed experience preferred Securely fenced yard required Balanced dogs considered Cats OK Adoption Info: Zeus’s adoption fee is $550, which includes neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Training Info: Zeus has been fully trained with A Dog's Best Friend in Vancouver WA. Training for adopters will be included with his adoption.  Animal History: Zeus was owned by a couple who left him in a shared home; another resident (who is a dog trainer) kept him to help find a forever home versus bringing him to a shelter, and has fostered him since summer 2022. He is currently fostered in Vancouver WA and available for adoption.September 23, 2023, 10:42 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Nutmeg is an estimated 3 year old, 70 lb neutered male mixed breed listed as a lab mix but likely with some bully too -- -- who knows? He was rescued from the high kill Bakersfield Animal Shelter where he was assessed to be timid but friendly with people and respectful of other animals; Nutmeg is very affectionate once he has a chance to get to know you. He has a gentle mellow energy. Foster Update:  Nutmeg is one sweet boy! While he can be a little shy at first, once he warms up he loves to be social! He will need a slow introduction to any potential dog friends, but loves to run & play in doggy daycare once he is comfortable. He loves to play ball and could do it all day! Nutmeg has been working hard on his obedience, and will thrive in a home where his new structure & skills will be kept up on. While he loves to run and play, at the end of the day he would love to snuggle up with his person.  Nutmeg has been in foster care with the trainers at A Dogs Best Friend in Vancouver, WA. He is a board and train grad, and has wonderful manners. Nutmeg is house and crate trained, and knows commands sit, down, heel (on a loose leash), place, and come. He participates in doggy daycare and enjoys his time with his trainers, but Nutmeg would love a family to call his own. Adoption Info: Nutmegs adoption fee is $550 which includes neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, negative heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go to the care for all dogs in the rescue. Apply online at www.doggoneseattle.org Animal History: Nutmeg was rescued from Bakersfield Animal Shelter and arrived to foster care in the Seattle area on 6/19/22. He will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.September 23, 2023, 10:42 pm
