Meet the sweetest and most affectionate sisters, Honey and Tala. These social and loving beauties- Honey, age 9 and Tala, age 6, were adopted a few years ago as bonded sisters. Unfortunately, Honey and Tala’s mom recently passed away, so these two amazing and super friendly dogs are once again looking for their truly forever family. Honey and Tala are super gentle, very friendly and adore people. They will greet you like they do every person-with wagging butts and big smiles! Honey & Tala are the cutest clowns who enjoy life and love being a part of the family. They are anxious to have their new humans around more- and will listen to you and be loyal to you right away. The mid-sized stocky girls have been lacking in the exercise department and are looking forward to renewed walks and fetch-time. The pair is good with children and other dogs, but are content to hang out with each other in their backyard and chill. The girls are house trained and crate trained; but can be trusted to be free in the house all day when their dad is at work. They know their basic commands and are very good on the leash. Honey and Tala are over their puppy stages, so not chewers or diggers; nor are they barkers or jumpers. Honey and Tala have not been around cats.  They are vaccinated and spayed. They currently weigh 45-50lbs but with more exercise and low calorie food should weigh in about 40-45lbs This dynamic little duo is seeking a fun family with lots of love and affection. This sweet baby girl recently battled parvo and she won! She is now healthy and doing wonderful so she’s finally ready for her own, forever home. She is about 5mo old and weighs only 18lbs. We expect her to be 30-35lbs full grown so she is going to be a tiny pocket pibble! She is very affectionate so she must have a family that wants lots of cuddle time. She’s a smart as can be, playful girl, too, so lots of training games are a must. She loves people so she will thrive is a socially active home. Another adult dog in the home to help teach her manners and that will play with her would be ideal. Kitties are also ok. She must have a securely fenced yard. Boss is a 2 year old staffie who is a really sweet boy but still has puppy energy. He is very affectionate and loving. He loves belly rubs, and to be very close to you all the time. Boss was found in a park, but people called animal control upon seeing a pitbull roaming around. So he ended up in a very high kill shelter, from where he was rescued right before he was going to be euthanized for lack of space. He has been a sweetheart while he was in the shelter and now when he is out. Boss is currently about 50 lb and fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He is heartworm negative, and kept on heartworm and flea preventative. He is a very loving pup, with nothing but love in his heart. He followed his foster family home during one of their walks with their pups. Unfortunately, no family has shown up for him, so now he's looking for a new home! Duke is the sweetest little staffy you could ever meet. Not only is he adorably cute, with ears that resemble a rabbit. He just loves life, people, and everything in between. He gets along great with people of all ages, and has been exceptional with the children I'm his foster family. He is gentle, smart and sweet. He loves toys and food, and has taken well to their guidance and training. He's already familiar with sit, being crate trained, leash training and housebreaking. Duke also gets along with other dogs very well. He's done great with the 2 pups in his foster home. Adorable puppy Jason aka Jase Bear, was found cowering in the bushes in heavy thunderstorm, when a patron of our rescue who was walking her senior yorkie, spotted him. Jason is now 14 weeks old, and very calm puppy, who just wants to please his human. He loves to be around his humans and wants nothing but affection. He is a very loving and velcro pup, good with dogs, cats, kids, people. Jason is 15 lb and growing. He is current on his shots, will be neutered in a couple weeks, and microchipped. He is crate trained although he is not a fan of the crate, he is puppy pad trained, and is learning to be housebroken, and he is kept on heartworm and flea preventative as well as deworming schedule. He is very easy to train, as he is extremely intelligent and loves to hear "good boy". In the right home, he will turn into a lovely adult pup. Kobe was found with his brother in a car for an unknown amount of time. He was taken into Animal Control Custody which is where I decided to foster him. I believe Kobe is around 1 years old but that has not been confirmed. Kobe loves attention and will do anything to cuddle. He gets the zoomies here and there but for the most part he is just curious and loves to chew on his toys.

He is smart, gentle, snuggly, and playful. He is 65lbs. Apollo is up to date on all vaccinations and is neutered. He loves to sunbathe and be outside with his human. He has a hard time trusting males and struggles with change, so he will need a home that is stable (not moving a lot) and the male in the home needs to be there enough to build a relationship with him (not in and out traveling for work). Apollo does have anxiety and will need a lot of help with overcoming this especially with going to the vet and groomer. He has allergies in the fall/winter and eats Zignature kangaroo allergy friendly food. He loves to play with other dogs and has never had an incident while at doggie daycare, but he sometimes plays like a puppy and that can scare some bigger dogs. He’s patient and gentle with kids but would do best in a home with older kids because younger kids make him anxious. He is crate trained, house broken, and does great in his kennel. He is the most lovable guy who needs someone to help him with anxiety in an environment that is stable and calm. Hi, I'm Zeus! I'm a 5-year-old staffy. I've had some ups and downs, but I'm ready to find my forever home. I really need somebody that's going to give me a structured life, with rules and boundaries. I enjoy structured walks with time to play on the playground, and tug is definitely one of my favorites! I will play fetch for a while ... pretty cool that I just learned to bring the ball back instead of just chewing on it. I don't mind cats, but with other dogs I need a slow intro. Mostly, I just want to share your snacks and cuddle on the sofa with you. Animal Profile: Zeus is an estimated 5-year-old, 60 lb neutered male American Staffordshire Terrier who is looking for a loving forever home to call his own. His former owners shared a rental home with his current caretaker and then just up and left. He has been taken care of (rather than surrendered to a shelter) by this good Samaritan ever since, and we are helping to find him a new home. Zeus is now crate trained and house trained and has obedience training too! He is friendly with all people and has lived with older children without any issues. Zeus was previously leash reactive but now walks politely with training tools; he will need an adopter willing to use a training collar to manage his leash reactivity. Zeus currently lives with other dogs and does fine with that as long as toys are not in the picture; he is prone to resource guarding toys (with other dogs, not people) and so toys would need to be managed in a multi-dog home. Animal Profile: Nutmeg is an estimated 3-year-old, 70 lb neutered male mixed breed listed as a lab mix but likely with some bully too -- who knows? He was rescued from the high kill Bakersfield Animal Shelter where he was assessed to be timid but friendly with people and respectful of other animals; Nutmeg is very affectionate once he has a chance to get to know you. He has a gentle mellow energy. Foster Update: Nutmeg is one sweet boy!  He will need a proper introduction to any potential dog friends, but he enjoys to running and playing with his canine friends at doggy daycare. He lives to play ball and could do it all day. Nutmeg has been working hard on his obedience, and will thrive in a home where his skills will be kept up on. This energetic dude also has an off switch, and would be happy to snuggle up at the end of the day for a snooze. Animal Profile: Meet Ryder! He's an estimated 2-year-old, 55 lb neutered male bully mix. He came to the shelter as a stray and was a staff favorite. They described him as friendly, fun and adorable.   Foster Update: Ryder is a handsome and energetic dog who loves to play. He gets lots of compliments, in part because of his muscular physique -- he looks like he hits the gym every day! Ryder loves to be with his people and becomes quite cuddly when you hold him or rub his belly. He’s always ready to chase, tug on a rope or fetch, and with practice will now happily drop the ball so you can throw it again. Ryder doesn't typically bark at other dogs but he is strong and has a rough-and-tumble play style; in true pitty fashion, he loves to bump and go under/over other dogs. Ryder will need a tolerant and sturdy canine companion if he goes to a home with a resident dog. Ryder is crate trained and has good house manners -- he doesn't chew on off-limits items like furniture, shoes or socks. He's come a long way with his impulse control: He used to get very excited coming out of the crate or greeting guests but has shown willingness to respond to a firm "NO." It's helpful that he is quite food and praise motivated; belly rubs are the best! Ryder has shown he can be quite in tune with your mood: When you're excited he's ready to go! Meet Albie, a six-year-old Boxer/Husky mix with a heart full of love and a personality that's just as big! He's a quirky companion who loves to cuddle, making him the perfect buddy for movie nights and lazy Sundays. Albie enjoys the great outdoors and is always up for a hike, but he's also just as content spending his days lounging around the house, basking in the comfort of his family's company. With a keen mind, he loves to "have a job" to do, including learning new tricks. He is very well-behaved: listens very well, knows all basic commands, potty trained, crate trained, and loves showing off his tricks. While Albie is a bundle of joy and is a big teddy bear, he does have his unique needs. He prefers being the only pet in the household as he's uncomfortable around other dogs. He has made a lot of progress but will bark and lunge at dogs on walks if he gets within 10 feet of them. He has never bitten another dog, but is afraid of them. Welcome Salem to CCPAL Rescue. Salem is a 4.5-year-old beauty. She is a Boxer/Staffordshire Terrier that weighs about 60 pounds. She is a beautiful grey and tan coat that is shiny and she is not too big of a shedding dog. She is loyal and does get along with dogs. Her preference is smaller male dogs or smaller submissive females. She was adopted as a puppy and returned at 4 years old because she didn’t get along with the other female dog in the home. She loves people and loves kids. She is potty trained, good on a leash and good in a car. She is very affectionate and slept with her family in the bed at night. She was really nice to all the people she met today at the rescue. She loved cuddles and being petted. We could adopt her locally with other dogs and we can test the dogs out. If she goes outside the state of Texas she would make a great only dog. She would be a great companion dog for someone wanting an outdoor companion on your activities and a dog willing to cuddle when you want to chill and read a book. She is the best of both worlds. She is house trained and goes potty outside. They have worked with trainers so she is skilled as far as training goes and was following direction nicely at the Rescue. She could be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get this gorgeous dog to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast.
