Story
Hi, I'm Zeus! I'm a 5-year-old staffy. I've had some ups and downs, but I'm ready to find my forever home. I really need somebody that's going to give me a structured life, with rules and boundaries. I enjoy structured walks with time to play on the playground, and tug is definitely one of my favorites! I will play fetch for a while ... pretty cool that I just learned to bring the ball back instead of just chewing on it. I don't mind cats, but with other dogs I need a slow intro. Mostly, I just want to share your snacks and cuddle on the sofa with you. Animal Profile: Zeus is an estimated 5-year-old, 60 lb neutered male American Staffordshire Terrier who is looking for a loving forever home to call his own. His former owners shared a rental home with his current caretaker and then just up and left. He has been taken care of (rather than surrendered to a shelter) by this good Samaritan ever since, and we are helping to find him a new home. Zeus is now crate trained and house trained and has obedience training too! He is friendly with all people and has lived with older children without any issues. Zeus was previously leash reactive but now walks politely with training tools; he will need an adopter willing to use a training collar to manage his leash reactivity. Zeus currently lives with other dogs and does fine with that as long as toys are not in the picture; he is prone to resource guarding toys (with other dogs, not people) and so toys would need to be managed in a multi-dog home. Zeus does live with cats and is OK with them -- good boy! He is currently fostered in Vancouver, WA and ready to meet you! Adopter Profile: Bully breed experience preferred Securely fenced yard required Balanced dogs considered Cats OK Adoption Info: Zeus’s adoption fee is $550, which includes neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Training Info: Zeus has been fully trained with A Dog's Best Friend in Vancouver WA. Training for adopters will be included with his adoption.  Animal History: Zeus was owned by a couple who left him in a shared home; another resident (who is a dog trainer) kept him to help find a forever home versus bringing him to a shelter, and has fostered him since summer 2022. He is currently fostered in Vancouver WA and available for adoption.May 22, 2024, 1:46 am

Story
Animal Profile: Nutmeg is an estimated 3-year-old, 70 lb neutered male mixed breed listed as a lab mix but likely with some bully too -- who knows? He was rescued from the high kill Bakersfield Animal Shelter where he was assessed to be timid but friendly with people and respectful of other animals; Nutmeg is very affectionate once he has a chance to get to know you. He has a gentle mellow energy. Foster Update: Nutmeg is one sweet boy!  He will need a proper introduction to any potential dog friends, but he enjoys to running and playing with his canine friends at doggy daycare. He lives to play ball and could do it all day. Nutmeg has been working hard on his obedience, and will thrive in a home where his skills will be kept up on. This energetic dude also has an off switch, and would be happy to snuggle up at the end of the day for a snooze. Nutmeg has been in foster care with the trainers at A Dogs Best Friend in Vancouver, WA. He is a board and train grad, and has wonderful manners. Nutmeg is house and crate trained, and knows the commands sit, down, heel (on a loose leash), place and come. He participates in doggy daycare and enjoys his time with his trainers, but Nutmeg would love a family to call his own. Adoption Info: Nutmegs adoption fee is $550 which includes neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, negative heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go to the care for all dogs in the rescue. Apply online at www.doggoneseattle.org Animal History: Nutmeg was rescued from Bakersfield Animal Shelter and arrived to foster care in the Seattle area on 6/19/22. He will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.May 22, 2024, 1:46 am

Story
Animal Profile: Meet Ryder! He's an estimated 2-year-old, 55 lb neutered male bully mix. He came to the shelter as a stray and was a staff favorite. They described him as friendly, fun and adorable.   Foster Update: Ryder is a handsome and energetic dog who loves to play. He gets lots of compliments, in part because of his muscular physique -- he looks like he hits the gym every day! Ryder loves to be with his people and becomes quite cuddly when you hold him or rub his belly. He’s always ready to chase, tug on a rope or fetch, and with practice will now happily drop the ball so you can throw it again. Ryder doesn't typically bark at other dogs but he is strong and has a rough-and-tumble play style; in true pitty fashion, he loves to bump and go under/over other dogs. Ryder will need a tolerant and sturdy canine companion if he goes to a home with a resident dog. Ryder is crate trained and has good house manners -- he doesn't chew on off-limits items like furniture, shoes or socks. He's come a long way with his impulse control: He used to get very excited coming out of the crate or greeting guests but has shown willingness to respond to a firm "NO." It's helpful that he is quite food and praise motivated; belly rubs are the best! Ryder has shown he can be quite in tune with your mood: When you're excited he's ready to go! When you're calm, he's ready for snuggles. With all his training progress his new nickname is "Little Gentleman." This loving boy will make a beautiful addition to the right family -- pitbull breed experience preferred!  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current core vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, health certificate, heartworm test, transport from California to Seattle. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was rescued from euthanasia at Tulare high-kill shelter in California and arrived to foster care in Seattle on Thurs 7/20/23. He will be available for adoption after evaluated in foster care in the greater Seattle area.May 22, 2024, 1:46 am

I've got a very sweet and submissive demeanor that will make for me being a great family addition!! I love people both tall and small and I do great with the other foster pups here. I'm working on my house training skills and am doing really good with it, knowing how to use the doggie door when I need to go out. Story
Please note that we are a TX based rescue that transports our dogs once they are adopted. All our dogs reside in foster homes in TX. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org Bluebell - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Love (v), a very strong affection, intense feelings of devotion and compassion...see also American Staffy I was named after the Bluebell flower which symbolizes gratitude and humility. Wow that's a mighty big name to live up to, but I'm up for the challenge as I'd be forever grateful to know a loving home and I can be very modest about having all that love heaped on me. And of course, you also have Bluebell Ice Cream which is a cool delicious sweet treat. Oh my, yep, I'm definitely named after the ice cream!! Wow, pretty as a flower and sweet as ice cream. That is a mighty big win win! At around 3 years and coming in at around 63lbs, I'm a good size gal but don't worry that just means they is more of me to put a whole lot of lovins on you. I don't know about you but I find that a pretty good win for both of us too!! I am a very affectionate gal that loves loves loves my people.. both tall and small. I'm super laidback and calm, just going with the flow, enjoying my people time that includes lots of cuddles. I also do great with other pups and love my outings especially when I get to go visit all my friends (both 2 and 4 legged) at the doggie park or at doggie daycare. What can I say, I make friends with everyone, everywhere I go!!!! I love getting attention, sunbathing, car rides, going for walks, my spa days and to top it all off, I'm house trained too. Now that's another winning combination!! My breed are known for their affectionate, loving nature and are also low in grooming maintenance. Just a quick bath, brush and nail trim and I'm ready to go!! I would make great company for someone that works from home or who is retired. With my friendly nature and calm ways I'd even be a great first time pet parent pup!! Loving, housetrained, good with the kiddos, good with other dogs, cuddly... WOW! I'm all that wrapped up in one big package. The only thing missing is YOU, but we can fix that easily , just stop what you're doing and fill out my adoption application and I'll be happy to take it from there!!

Story
Animal Profile: Pretty piggy Paige! This sweet soul was seen wandering in Grays Harbor County for over a week. Lucky for her, she was scooped up by one of our wonderful foster families. Paige completed the mandatory stray hold and was transferred to the care of Dog Gone Seattle so we could get her proper vetting. She was in rough shape; has obviously had a litter (or few), and her skin needed some attention. Despite obvious neglect, this little girl is an absolute gem; everyone falls in love when they meet her. She might be the match you've been waiting for! Foster Update: Paige is quiet as a mouse in the house; she loves her crate and dog bed. You might not even know she's there aside from the occasional snores. She get's along well with the resident male and female dogs in her foster home, and enjoys car ride adventures. She is quick to make friends with every person she meets, those happy pitty piggy noises melt your heart! Paige deserves to know love and a warm space to curl up for the rest of her doggy days. We can't wait to find her family. Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED! Cody is a 5 - 6 year old Boxer mix who is looking for a loving, active and structured forever home! He is sweet but had a rough beginning so will need a rescue experienced home that will help him build trust, learn basic obedience and gain confidence. He will bond to his people and loves attention and affection. He loves treats and is glad to work for them! He has not had a lot of training so will need support with continued basic obedience. He is looking for a home that is adult only or with kids over the age of 16. He will thrive in a home where he can be active, he loves to run around, go for walks, and would make an excellent outdoor activity partner. Cody can do well with other dogs but it is always best to do proper introductions to make sure it is a good match and that all parties 'mesh'. Cody would do best in a home with a large fenced yard where he can run, roam and play. Cody is UTD on shots, has had a dental, is microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $400.

Story
Meet Sugar! True to her name, Sugar is a sweet, 1 year old, 55 lb. Boxer mix who loves people and is looking for her forever home! Sugar has a lot of spunky energy and would do great with a family that can take her on walks and adventures and commit to her obedience training. Sugar can be very excitable around other dogs and has a lot of playful energy which may be off putting to some dogs but has been playful with the dogs in our care. She has not been tested with kids or cats, but we are recommending no small children as she is bouncy and could easily knock them over. Sugar is up to date on her vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $500.
