Story
We adopted Maise when she was a puppy at the end of 2018. She is a very good dog but can be anxious and has some PTSD. When she was around a year old we tried to adopt one of her siblings which was a male dog. One day in the back yard out of no where he attacked Maise. Since then she has become anxious and has nipped a couple people (all male). We personally have had no issues with her. She has been a very good dog for us. She is very loving and loves attention. I took her through obedience training and she will follow commands. She has always been good with our grandchildren. We hate to give her up but our moving out of state and are not allowed to have animals where we are going. She loves walks and loves to play in the backyard. She has had another dog, Keeva, with her for 6 years. They are great friends. She is crate trained and is used to sleeping in her home at night and even likes to go in it during the day at times. She is located in Edwardsville, Illinois.

Story
From our Shelter Director - Bari is one of those dogs that makes me wish I could adopt them all. He takes time to get to know and figure out the best ways to support him, so he has had troubles in the two homes that he’s been in. But they really didn’t give him a chance. They gave up on him within 24 hours. Don’t get me wrong, he is A LOT at times but he is so sweet and awesome once you give him a chance. B LOVES to sniff and explore new things. Give him the space to do that and create some new games for him, and you’ll see him begin to relax and regulate. He reminds me so much of my pup at home and I just know someone will fall in love with him the way I have. He’s so worth it!! ❤️

Story
I adopted him from Humane Society in August 2025. He was 7 months old when I adopted him. He is very loyal and attached to the primary handler. He is super smart and can learn anything in minutes. Very food motivated, active. He can stay alone conformably at home for 8-10 hours. He doesn’t like strangers ( he is scared of them) He doesn’t know how to regulate his fear. He will benefit from less traffic home with no children. I personally think he will benefit from other dogs in the household. You should have the time to work with him through his fear. He can be walked and taken care of by only few people he trusts not by everyone. He will not like random people handling him like putting on and taking off the leash. He also have food guarding behavior and has to feed alone with no one touching him. He had incidents where he snapped at people while they touched him while eating. Will be happy to give more transparent details
