Story
Looking for an energetic and loyal companion to join your adventures? Meet Finn, the four-year-old Blue Heeler/Pomsky mix who's ready to steal your heart! Finn is the epitome of fun and love, always up for a run, bike ride, or a stroll by your side. Whether it's chasing a ball or cuddling up for snuggles, he’s always eager to please. However, Finn struggles with separation anxiety, so he's hoping to find a forever home where his humans can shower him with love and attention. He thrives on companionship and would do best in a household where someone is around most of the time. While Finn adores people, he's not quite suited for a home with children. He's happiest without the chaos that little ones can bring. We have cherished every single moment with Finn, but as we prepare to have our first child, we think he deserves a home without the added stress of a new baby. We're seeking a loving family or individual who can give him the time, attention & active lifestyle he craves!

Story
Bowie, the Big Snuggle Bug Are you ready to welcome boundless joy and endless cuddles into your life? Look no further than Bowie! This big-hearted canine companion is almost two years old, weighs around 52 pounds, and is on the hunt for a loving family to share his infectious enthusiasm and affection. Although his exact genealogy is unknown, Bowie looks like a mix of Heeler and Dalmatian. Let's dive into what makes Bowie the perfect addition to your home: Personality: Bowie is the epitome of joy on four legs! His larger-than-life personality is matched only by his love for cuddles. Whether he's romping around with his favorite toys or snuggled up beside you on the couch, Bowie's enthusiasm is contagious. He's a social butterfly who adores meeting new people and making both dog and people friends wherever he goes. He has a ball watching out the front window of his foster home and especially loves seeing the neighborhood squirrels in action. Bowie is food-motivated and will always lick his bowl clean. He has great self-esteem and his foster mom often catches him staring at himself in the mirror. Background: Bowie's journey to find his forever family hasn't been without its challenges, but he's faced them all with a wagging tail and a heart full of hope. Rescued from the euthanasia list at Lebanon Animal Control, Bowie is now ready to leave his past behind and embrace a future filled with love and laughter. His resilient spirit and unwavering affection make him a truly special companion. Ideal Home: Bowie would thrive in a home where he can be showered with love and attention. His affectionate nature makes him the perfect cuddle buddy for chilly evenings and lazy Sundays alike. Bowie enjoys both indoor and outdoor activities, so a home with a fenced yard for him to explore would be ideal. While he may enjoy the company of other furry friends, a meet-and-greet would ensure compatibility. Training: Bowie is a bright and eager learner who is ready to tackle basic training with enthusiasm. He already knows some commands like "sit" and is working on "stay." He's currently working on leash training and is already crate-trained and needs to be crated when his new family leaves the house. Positive reinforcement and consistency will help him become the well-mannered companion you've always dreamed of. Health: Bowie is in excellent health and is up-to-date on all vaccinations. He has been neutered and microchipped for added peace of mind. He is heartworm negative. Adoption Details: Don't miss out on the opportunity to make Bowie a permanent part of your family! If you're ready to open your heart and home to this big-hearted snuggle bug, reach out today to arrange a meeting. He is being fostered in the St. Louis County area. Adoption fees and requirements apply. Take the next step, and fill out an application at istodaymydayrescue.org. Bowie's adoption fee is $295. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
from foster parentTommy has been playing well with our female Labrador. We brought him along to a friend’s bonfire party last week. He played very well with the other male dog there and was sociable with all the people there. Typically he is reactive in the backyard, he barks a lot and wants to chase the birds. He was very afraid the one time we went to a pet store; there was too much going on for him, I think. He does not load easily into the car, but he is fine once placed in the car. He is easily very fearful and tucks his tail when new experiences are presented. He is mostly fine on walks, he is just curious to smell things. He is not a great leash walker, he can pull very hard if he wants to. I am unsure if he is really house broken. We have trained him to ring the bell to go outside, but that is always prompted by us being at the door and telling him to ring it if he wants to go out. He has had two accidents in the house, but we keep him on a regular bathroom schedule. He goes outside 5-6 times per day to play, and anytime he leaves his crate I put him outside first to try to bathroom train him. He seems perfectly crate trained. He never has accidents in his crate and he sleeps through the night in the crate. He is also fine in the crate while we are gone. He knows the command “Kennel” perfectly, he will run straight in. We’re also working on knowing to sit and wait for the “OK” command before he can leave his crate. The “Down” command is also partially known, it is still a work in progress. He has experienced loud noises like thunder and the vacuum running, and he doesn’t seem to have any fear of things like that. Tommy loves all the stuffed toys we have, but if he plays with them too long he will start to rip them and tear out the stuffing. I don’t think he swallows the stuffing or any part of the toy, but leaving stuffed toys in his crate alone with him should be monitored.Tommy is a very affectionate dog who really just wants pets and cuddles. He is somewhat food motivated. He also is a bit mischievous. Counter surfing and jumping up on people are the biggest issues we can’t seem to break him of. I hope he finds a home that will enroll him in obedience training formally to help break these habits and for him to learn more/become more comfortable being out and about.Email Foster@hsmo.org to meet him!
