Story
MEET BLU! Blu arrived on our doorstep as a stray, but we have gathered very valuable information about how he does in a home from time he spent in foster. He can be trusted when left alone, he is fully potty trained in a home, and he is friendly with all humans and even older children! He is extremely intellegent and food motivated, and picks up new skills before you even put them down! He loves to hang out outdoors and would make an excellent hiking or running partner to encourage his owner to get outside. He would even love to participate in a competitive dog sport like agility! He is friendly with other dogs, but does best with young active dogs who have a similar play style to him. His fosters have done a great job with crate training him and teaching him to walk respectfully on a leash. Despite his breed he would do well in a variety of environments, including apartments as long as he gets the excercise and stimulation he needs.Blu is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been neutered, microchipped and been seen by our vet team. For more information on Blu or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. Story
Donny was brought to us by the person who had no place to keep him in. He was very traumatised and scared because the guy kept him in the crate during the day and in the car during the night. We adopted him, went to the doctor three times, did all the shots and neutered the puppy. He is extremely smart, extremely intelligent and very much attached to us both and our old dog Max. He shows some signs of aggression only in car. He starts barking immediately, if he sees a dog, or someone walking fast or biking. Otherwise he is the best creature in the world. But our condo does not allow us to keep 2 dogs. We got a letter where they warned us: we have to pay 100$ a day and in a month they sue us. We are trying to sell our condo now, but it s stuck. Our old dog Max lives in our friend s house, but they also can’t keep him for more than 2- 3 weeks. With a hard heart I decided to find a good loving and experienced family for my beloved one. :

Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: Yes, with proper introsGood with cats: UnknownGood with kids: Yes, 13+Crate trained: YesHouse trained: YesGrizzly James is a really good boy who loves to snuggle and hang out with his humans. In fact, he thinks he is a lapdog despite his size!Grizzly James has yet to meet a toy he doesn’t like, but he is an expert at surgically deconstructing stuffed toys, so he is better suited for tougher toys like bones, Kongs, rubber rings, etc. When he is not entertaining himself with toys he likes to make very silly noises to get your attention and remind you that he is nearby in case you have the sudden urge to give him belly rubs.Grizzly James is extremely smart and considers himself to be a mischievous mastermind. His fosters have noted he sometimes buries his food bowl under his blanket to try and fool his humans into thinking he hasn’t received dinner yet and should be fed again. He is a lovable goofball and is looking for someone that will enjoy his antics!Grizzly James is crate trained and house trained. He also knows ‘sit’, ‘stay’, and is currently working on mastering ‘down’. He loves car rides and will try to rest his snoot on your shoulder despite being in the backseat and buckled into his car harness.Grizzly James has shown lots of improvement when walking on a leash over the last few months. He is not a ‘puller’, but will try to chase after cars (or those pesky squirrels) from time to time and uses all his body weight to lunge into the move. He is deceptively strong for such a compact fellow, so a firm hand on the leash is a must when waddling him about town. His current foster walks him on a transitional lead and has found this to be a key to success when walking him on a leash.Grizzly James is so excited to find his forever family! Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website. If you cannot find a particular dog on our website, he/she may be on a temporary foster hold. All dogs are otherwise posted until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application.April 18, 2024, 3:48 pm

She is a curious and shy pup who is learning to break out of her shell each day. Inez’s ideal home would include an active, patient family who is committed to continuing her training and helping her build her confidence.Inez gets along well with dogs and may need some extra space and time to get to know them. She is learning her manners and taking cues from others. Once she makes friends, Inez loves to play with other dogs and would thrive in a mentally-stimulating environment or agility classes. Inez would do just fine with cats and dog-savvy children in the home. She is crate trained and housetrained. Inez goes into the crate with no issue and sleeps in their overnight without a peep. She has worked really hard on her potty training and is accident-free on a regular routine and schedule. Inez is doing great on her leash and continuing to navigate the world more confidently each day. Inez has so much love to give and would make a great addition to any family! Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website.
