Huey is young and therefore has a lot of energy. He loves attention and to be kept busy. Huey is active, smart, and loves kids and other dogs. He sees every new face as a potential playmate. He would do best in a home with another play mate or an active family. At the facility he has staff and volunteers that have spent extra time with him in training, teaching commands and helping him take out all his pent-up energy. Huey is always ready for a walk, run, hike or a training session. Extremely treat motivated and very focused of what`s being asked of him to do. Huey still needs more training, but he is an amazing dog. He loves to please his person and would love to have a job. His perfect home would be one with one or two people that are very active and super involved in his training or a family that has the time to take him on walks and keep his mind and body active. He won`t do well in a house that wants a couch potato dog or calm dog. He needs stimulation to be calm afterwards. He was born in Jan 2020 and is located at the rescue. Meet Max 🐾 Max is a handsome 5-year-old Australian Shepherd/Kelpie mix with a heart as big as his smile. We originally adopted Max out as a puppy, and for the first four years of his life he served as an emotional support companion for a teenager. When his family lost their home due to landlord issues, they were heartbreakingly forced to surrender him. His next owner loved him for a year and invested in both intermediate and advanced training classes, making Max a well-mannered, well-rounded companion. House & Crate trained--Knows basic commands---Completed intermediate and advanced training classes---Great with other dogs, including the many Chihuahuas in his foster home Max weighs about 60 pounds and still has plenty of great years ahead of him. He loves being with his people and wherever the other dogs are, that's where you'll find Max too. Most nights he sleeps on a pillow beside his foster mom's bed, although every now and then he sneaks into the bed for extra cuddles. Max is also the perfect road-trip buddy. He absolutely loves riding shotgun and has become his foster moms favorite driving companion.
