Story

Kiwi is an amazing pup! We are needing to find her a new home due to incompatibility with an elderly member of our home and by no real fault of her own. Kiwi is a fast learner and will adapt to a new home quickly. We love her very much and are committed to finding her a good home. She sleeps well out-of-crate, on a dog bed in our personal room but may want a crate if not kept close by. We have not tried keeping her crated as there has been no need to. She is house-trained and almost fully trained on chewing only toys/bones of her own. Loves running, great exercise partner.Has not yet been spayed. We will send her to her new home with all toys, bones, harness and food that she has available

Huey

Australian Kelpie Bull Terrier

Male, 6 yrs 9 mos

Justin, TX

Size

(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)

Details

Story

Huey is young and therefore has a lot of energy. He loves attention and to be kept busy. Huey is active, smart, and loves kids and other dogs. He sees every new face as a potential playmate. He would do best in a home with another play mate or an active family. At the facility he has staff and volunteers that have spent extra time with him in training, teaching commands and helping him take out all his pent-up energy. Huey is always ready for a walk, run, hike or a training session. Extremely treat motivated and very focused of what`s being asked of him to do. Huey still needs more training, but he is an amazing dog. He loves to please his person and would love to have a job. His perfect home would be one with one or two people that are very active and super involved in his training or a family that has the time to take him on walks and keep his mind and body active. He won`t do well in a house that wants a couch potato dog or calm dog. He needs stimulation to be calm afterwards. He was born in Jan 2020 and is located at the rescue. Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heart-worm preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided. Story

Meet Kira! Kira's story has not been an easy one, but she is ready for a new beginning. She was found off Steger Towne Crossing in Rockwall on 8/12/26 and never reclaimed. Kira is an approximately 9 month old female Kelpie/Basenji mix weighing approx. 36 pounds who is now looking for a patient, understanding home where she can finally feel safe and secure. Kira is shy at first but has a very sweet nature once she begins to warm up. She is still learning how to navigate the world and will need an experienced dog owner who can provide guidance, structure, and patience in order to build her confidence and learn how to simply be a dog again. She will benefit from continued leash training and positive reinforcement to help her thrive. Kira does well with other tolerant dogs and is not recommended with children under the age of 16. If you currently have another pet in the home, a meet and greet is suggested prior to adoption to help ensure a good fit for everyone. Her adoption fee is $125. She is spayed, microchipped, current on her rabies vaccine, boosters to date, and heartworm negative. If you are ready to give Kira the time, patience, and care she deserves, please apply online: https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. October 30, 2026, 4:12 am
