Story
Hi, I'm Penny! Don't you think I'm a cutie? I may have had a rough start, but thanks to my rescuers, life is looking up! Now, all I need is a loving family to call my own. I'm a happy, healthy girl who's eager to learn and grow. Very Treat Motivated. With a little guidance, I'll be the best companion you could ask for. I love to play, ride in the car, and I'm great with kids. While I haven't met any cats yet, I'm open to new friends! As for other dogs, I get along with most, but it's always best to meet beforehand. Plus, I'm a pro on the leash and can't wait to explore the world with you on walks!

Story
Introducing Royse, a 2-year-old, 40lb male cattle dog with a heart of gold. Royse is a walking companion extraordinaire, excelling on the leash, and he's great with both dogs and kids. However, he politely requests a cat-free zone. When it's cuddle time, Royse is all in, happily lounging in your lap for affection. But don't worry, he's just as content to lie nearby when petting time is over. Plus, he's a pro at sitting on command and taking treats gently from your hand. Royse is ready to bring joy and companionship to his forever home.

Story
Are you a homebody (or two) looking for a companion who is easy to exercise without leaving your fenced yard and a wonderfully entertaining friend? That’s ME! I’m Sydney Skittle-butt. I’m a small girl (27 lbs), a bit over a year old, spayed, vaccinated BC/Mini Aussie mix. I promise to make you smile many times a day. I get my exercise needs playing fetch with tennis balls, so going on endless walks or playing on agility equipment is not required (though it sounds like fun!). I’m a good fit for older adults who have a pretty settled routine! I like training exercises (treats!) and learn fast! I sleep deeply through the night in my comfy crate and don’t mind spending a bit of time there during the day if you have to run errands (like getting me new tennis balls!) I have a busy mind which results in a bit of generalized anxiety (but NOT separation anxiety!) that is currently being managed with medication once a day. With time and a calm environment, I may be able to reduce or eliminate the medication. As of now I’m a happier, calmer dog on the medication. Because of this generalized anxiety, I can be unpredictable with dogs and would not be an appropriate pet for children or apartment living. I am smart and sensitive, will follow you everywhere, look to you for guidance and comfort (and tennis balls). I truly want to please you but within the boundaries of my particular need to stay calm. I am expressive, have the cutest wiggle butt you’ve EVER seen, and if you love to laugh out loud, I’m your girl! I am currently in the DFW area and ready to be adopted! Apply for me at bcrrt.com.

Story
Andi was rescued  from her birth home in Devine, TX. She is now July 2023) almost 6 months old. We believe she was born approximately January 4, 2023. Her mom was a remarkably smart, loyal and loving Red Heeler. We believe her dad is an Australian Shepherd. Andi was 3 months old when we brought her home. Andi is sweet and full of love! However she is a high-energy girl, and would benefit from someone willing to give her the exercise, activities, and playtimes she needs to keep her active mind and body from seeking her own games!  She adores playing fetch, loves rubber balls and 'critter skins”, and  is incredibly affectionate; she loves to cuddle next to us on the couch. Andi is GREAT with other dogs and people. She loves to play with our Chiweenie. She has not been around any small children yet, but I cannot imagine she would not be as wonderful. She is great on walks and sleeps like a baby in her crate. She is 99% house-broken and well crate trained. She will come to her new home with  her crate, bedding and food. If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Andi is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.May 1, 2024, 7:05 pm

Story
Hello I'm Radar! Everyone always talks about my ears! I am a young adult and have some puppy energy. I love to chew on toys and I may need some help learning what is okay to gnaw on. I love to play with dogs and I love people! I would do best in a home with other dog friends to play with. I have spent most of my puppy life in a shelter so I am working on house training. I enjoy my crate and love to snack on some frozen kongs while you are out. Story
Vienna is a gentle, sweet and loving blue heeler mix. She loves to snuggle at your feet and look lovingly into your eyes. She is great with other dogs but doesn’t want to play with them; if a dog is being too energetic in her face she does let them know with a nice little rumble. She is appropriately 6 years old. When found, Vienna had been living on the streets in rural Louisiana for over a year. Despite that difficult life, she is good with (older) children, though we’re unsure how she’ll respond to cats. She likes to go on short walks in the park and really enjoys watching other dogs play, even though she has no interest in joining them! Story
Hiya! My name is Callie and I am a 4-year-old Aussie/Lab mix. I've got lots going for me and can't wait to find a family I can adore fur-ever!! My foster momma is doing a great job loving me and I'll make.a fabulous addition to my new family!! I cam to the shelter after I'd been found laying in the street after getting struck by a car. Fortunately, I wasn't injured too severely and after a couple weeks to recoup, I've been good as new! My foster momma says I am laid back, happy and friendly. I love air conditioning, puppies, and treats. I am house and crate trained to boot! I am a little selective with my female adult doggie friends but so far, I haven't met a puppy or male dog I haven't liked. Oh... maybe I should tell you one last thing about me. The reason I probably got hit by a car is that I didn't know it was coming. My eyesight works great but my hearing doesn't I am deaf and since I didn't hear the car coming from behind me, I wasn't able to get out of the way in time. But that sure doesn't stop me from loving life! Contact the shelter and they'll put you in touch with my foster mom and she'll tell you how awesome I am!!
