Mario (aka Snickers) is ready for his forever home! This boy is the sweetest! In addition to being so handsome, He LOVES to snuggle and give affection. He gets along with all of the people that he meets. He adores his dog friends and is more submissive so will let someone else be in charge. He's a good boy with some basic training. He has already mastered the doggie door at his foster home and catches on to new routines and tricks quickly. Smart and handsome! We also found out that his original name was Snickers so he answers to Snickers and Mario. He's the dog with many names! He weighs 42 lbs and is about 1.5 years old. The potential adopter needs to be dedicated to their care and training for life. Understand that sharing your life with a dog can be a commitment of 15+ years. This would include feeding, exercise, training, vetting, and providing a loving home. Ask yourself, "Am I ready for this type of commitment?" If you are ready, we are here to help. We do have some requirements to help us find the perfect placement of our babies. WE ARE A FOSTER BASED RESCUE ONLY. WE DO NOT HAVE A PHYSICAL BUILDING 1. Apply online at https://www.foreverhomedogrescueil.org We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family (including other dogs) to approve an adoption. Only a final approval for adoption can take place after a successful meet and greet. This is done by appointments only. We will not proceed with the adoption if everyone has not met the dog. This will allow others the opportunity to adopt the dog. 2. Adopters MUST be 25 years old. Information on all adults/members living in the home is required We REQUIRE you to provide proof and vet reference that all current and past pets have been kept up to date on all routine medical. 3. Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spayed/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, 4. If you do not own your home, you must provide landlord contact information on the application and a copy of your lease that outlines the rules for dog ownership in your residence. Large breed dogs will not be adopted into apartment settings or where there are breed/ size restrictions. Puppies have special needs and require a home where someone is available to care for, socialize, and give basic training. If you are gone for more than a couple hours at a time, please consider adopting a teen or older dog. 5. Adoption fees are $425.00. We accept Zelle, Cash or Checks. (Prices are subject to change without notice). 6. All dogs and puppies adopted through Forever Home are fully vetted with age appropriate vaccines. Keep in mind once you take possession of your newly adopted dog, any and all future medical costs or care is YOUR responsibility. 7. First time puppy/dog adopters will be required to sign up for and pay in advance a basic training class. A deposit of an extra 50.00 will be required until a class has been completed, it will then be returned. 8. WE DO NOT DO OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS Medical included is as follows: Spay/Neuter (age appropriate) *Forever Home uses Fox Valley Animal Welfare League in Aurora, IL Age appropriate core vaccines Fecal testing and deworming Flea and tick preventative Microchipping Forever Home Dog Rescue reserves the right to deny any applicant.

Dottie’s story has become the norm. Her owner went to a nursing home and Dottie was left homeless. Her owner loved her a lot…with food, so Dottie is currently on a weight loss journey. She has gone through a lot in a short period of time, but she hasn’t let it get her down. This 4 yr old is past the puppy stage and is potty and crate trained, but would really enjoy sleeping in bed with her new family. Story
Barney is a 3yr old border collie mix, he came to us on October 18th from a shelter in KY. He spent the last 8 months in the shelter and supposedly hasn't seen sun or grass in those 8 months. When he arrived there he was feral and no one could touch him because he was so shut down and scared. After gaining trust with one of the volunteers, he slowly came around and has blossomed into an incredible boy. He is a very friendly and loving dog. He loves going on walks and exploring. He is a little cautious when approaching new surroundings. He will slowly investigate and determine a course of action. He is the same when meeting new people. He loves to play with tugs and acts as if he is still a puppy. Barney needs work with basic commands but knows "no" and "leave it". He doesn't know "heal", but he is a dream on a leash, and doesn't pull or lunge. He loves to play with people or other dogs. He has been on walks and encountered deer, cats, dogs and has had no reactions. Saw a squirrel and did want to chase it, but did not pull. He would be a perfect companion for a house with or without dogs as long as there was plenty of time for him to be with people. Barney is up to date on vaccines, microchipped and neutered. He is currently being treated for hookworms, lyme and ehrlichia. Get your application in on this guy ASAP as you will not want to miss out on such a sweet boy! Buddy is a very very sweet and shy boy. He is settling in extremely well in his foster home on a small horse farm. He especially likes Daisy, a recently adopted MWBCR dog. He is also getting along extremely well with with the foster family's two other dogs, Rambo (German Shepherd) and Jana (BC). When family members visited recently for two full days/nights his family found that Buddy LOVES kids!!! This was HUGE for him to undergo such a big change, travel, large family and KIDS in just a few days. Buddy spent all day with the family on the farm on Monday and Tuesday and was outside both days at the barn while his family rode horses. donkeys and visited the ducks several times. He absolutely loved it and stood right by side on the long lunge leash. He is AMAZING on the leash and is already trained to sleep in the crate at night.
