Story
We acquired Bailey in 2019 through a friend who could not take care of her. I am unclear on her exact age but I was told when we got her that she was 1.5 so she would be about 8.5 years old now. I think she would thrive best in a home where she is the only pet. I would recommend no kids too. She needs someone who is able to care for her special diet and get her groomed regularly. This new home must also be patient as she takes awhile to warm up to others. I would describe Bailey as sweet and loving with a side of spice. She craves attention and comfort but she can be aggressive at times. She is little but she is loud!

Story
Meet Wish! Wish is a beautiful little mini Australian Shepherd who weighs 28lbs. She likes to be close to her person and she loves taking a nap on your lap. She sleeps all night in a kennel without a peep. She rides well in a car. At this point she doesn't understand the concept of a leash so we are working on that. Very sweet girl that is ready for a home of her own! Basics: She is a spayed female guessed to be around 2 yrs old and she weighs close to 28lbs. She is currently in a foster home in North Kansas City, MO Adoption Process: - Please fill out our adoption application: https://www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application - One of our team members will get back to you via phone. - Our dogs can be seen by appointment only. We do not have a facility at this time. Dogs are in foster homes or boarding - Adoption fee is $480. It helps to cover transport costs, spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, fecal, initial worming, and microchip. -We do not place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt. NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available. About Us: Day of the Dogs is a 501c3 nonprofit. Since 2015 we have been dedicated to helping shelters increase live release. We coordinate 2 - 4 transports per month from TX, OK and AR to NW Indiana/Chicagoland and the Kansas City area. We do direct adoptions ourselves out of Kansas City and NW Indiana areas. We also partner with other rescues and shelters in IN, IL, KS and MO that are willing to help southern pets in need. We rely on donations to help fund our ongoing transports. Please donate if you can. Every dollar adds up and we are grateful for any help we can get: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/DayoftheDogs

Story
Josie was adopted over a year ago at Wayside Waifs, she is a 2 year old Australian shepherd mix (possibly blue heeler). She is a very sweet girl who’s really affectionate/ outgoing and loves people. She loves to burn off energy by going on walks and doing enrichment activities, unfortunately we are not able to home as much to give her all the attention and care she needs and are looking to find her a loving home and that can give her the best life possible!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Virginia (virginiak@tarasdream.org) for more information about this pet. Please visit our web site at https://tarasdream.org/adopt to fill out an adoption application for this pet and for more info about our adoption process.  Marty McFly is a loving bundle of puppy playfulness. He is a "tri-pawed" puppy, due to an accident when he was a baby, but it doesn't slow him down. He loves to play with other dogs, and he is curious about cats, though he doesn't try to engage with them often. He loves squeaky toys and chew toys, and he loves to be where the action is (even if the "action" is sleeping). Marty is almost completely potty trained, but might still need supervision in that area because he is still very young. He may need some leash training, but he's a very smart boy, and will pick up desired behaviors quickly. He likes to be where his people are; he enjoys Thursday night television, food, and moonlit romps in the backyard. Approximate Birthdate:   Dec 2025 Adoption Fee: $300 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL. Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.  Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines:  Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg) X-Large 101 lbs (46 kg) or more For more information please fill out an application.   CONTACT INFO The Animal Rescue Alliance (TARA) Web site: tarasdream.org Adoption Information & Applications: https://tarasdream.org/adopt Upcoming Adoption Events: https://tarasdream.org/events Email: email@tarasdream.orgMarch 11, 2026, 2:40 pm
