Story
Marcus was born April 29, 2024. Both of his siblings came out with bright blue eyes like his. He is Labrador Retriever, Australian Shepherd, Pit Bull Terrier. He weighs 50lbs, and is about knee height. A bit of a shorty, but lean, dense and very athletic with a touch of clumsiness (but he doesn’t like to be laughed at).We adopted him from a foster on July 19, 2024. He came potty trained at 3 months old…He’s spunky, energetic, and loves attention. Very protective of his person. He has attitude and can be ornery, but he is wicked smart and learns quickly. Someone who is consistent, experienced, and maintains good boundaries; offers love as reward would be perfect. He gets along very well woth other dogs, and we always thought that he’d do really well with a furry friend at home. He’s never been exposed to cats, but we bet he’d adapt. He has a sensitive tummy and can be gassy. He has never had much human food. Lovable dog; the epitome of tough onthe outside, soft on the inside.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Virginia (virginiak@tarasdream.org) for more information about this pet. Please visit our web site at https://tarasdream.org/adopt to fill out an adoption application for this pet and for more info about our adoption process.    Mango has been in her foster home for a short time and the reports are glowing!  She is the perfect mix in many ways - perfect mix of chill and energy, perfect mix of independence and affectionate and then, of course, the perfect mix of breed!  Mango gets along with the resident dogs and cats in her foster home and that makes her an easy intro into many homes.  She is truly an all-around great dog.   Since many folks are interested in back stories, Mango came to TARA after being found as a stray at an area shelter.   Staff realized that she’d stayed there previously and, upon contacting the adopter, learned that she’d been given away.  TARA stepped in to find her forever family.  With regard to her unique eye, Mango has scar tissue in anterior chamber behind the cornea of her right eye, likely due to an old trauma. At this time there is no recommended treatment. Her vision is impaired and could be blind in that eye. Her family would just need to be aware that she needs to be set up for success with her limited sight and know she is a bit head shy.   Mango is well behaved in the house and sleeps in a kennel through the night without a peep.  She walks well on a leash but may pull if she sees a squirrel or another dog.  She would love a fenced yard to explore and another playful dog in the home, but as easy going Mango truly is, these are just nice to haves.  She will fit in anywhere and be your best friend!  Please contact TARA today if you would like to meet Mango. Approximate Birthdate:  Sept 2020 Adoption Fee: $200 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL. Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.  Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines:  Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg) X-Large 101 lbs (46 kg) or more For more information please fill out an application.   CONTACT INFO The Animal Rescue Alliance (TARA) Web site: tarasdream.org Adoption Information & Applications: https://tarasdream.org/adopt Upcoming Adoption Events: https://tarasdream.org/events Email: email@tarasdream.org August 11, 2026, 9:46 am

Story
Meet Dumaine! Dumaine is a 4-year-old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix with a resilient spirit and so much love to give. When we found him, he was living in an overgrown outdoor pen with almost no shelter from the summer heat except for a crumbling dog house. He had no water until a kind neighbor noticed his situation and brought him some. Sadly, the neglect was only part of his story. Dumaine was also caught in the middle of a dangerous domestic situation where the dogs were paying the price for the chaos around them. There was no way to know how much longer he would have been safe, so we stepped in as quickly as we could. Today, Dumaine is finally safe—and his true personality is beginning to shine. Because of everything he's been through, he may be a little shy when meeting new people. Give him a little patience, though, and you'll quickly discover a sweet, affectionate dog who is thrilled to be your best friend. He loves spending time with his people, is eager to please, and is learning new things every day. Dumaine is doing well on leash, enjoys playing with other dogs, and is already picking up basic commands. Like many Border Collie and Australian Shepherd mixes, he's intelligent and benefits from continued training and mental enrichment. One important thing to know about Dumaine is that he's an accomplished escape artist. His new family will need to supervise him closely anytime he's outdoors and keep him on a leash. Dumaine also has a beautiful long, double coat that will require regular brushing and routine grooming to keep him healthy and comfortable. After everything he's endured, Dumaine deserves a family that will provide the love, stability, and security he's been missing. In return, he'll reward them with unwavering loyalty, endless affection, and a lifelong best friend. Could that be you?

Story
After years exhausting every resource, our sons allergies cannot handle dog dander in our home. We are heart broken to be looking for a home for Koa. He is the sweetest boy and the ultimate guest greeter. He is well socialized and has spent many days over the years in doggy daycare, receiving extra human attention and a small amount of training skills. If you love a cuddler, he's your boy. He has spent 4 years with our 14yr old golden girl as his mama dog. He absolutely loves children and knows how to be gentle.Koa loves all animals/genders. He is protective with large male dogs when on a leash in a confined area. Such as during daycare drop off in the small entry space. Walking on a leash outside - zero issues. While Koa is an amazing family animal, we do feel he would thrive better with more direct attention than we are able to give being a busy household and on the move with children. Please know we love this boy and finding the right home means everything to us.
