Story
This is one of the hardest posts I have ever had to make. Due to circumstances with an upcoming move, I’m heartbroken to share that I need to rehome my sweet dog, Charlotte (Charlie). Charlie is 2 (almost 3) years old and full of spunk, personality, and love. She is crate and kennel trained, knows several commands, and is very food motivated. She is also loyal to her core& her favorite place is right next to you, whether it is snuggling on the couch or following you around the house. Charlie is playful (fetch and tug-of-war are her favorites), cuddly, and always up for an adventure. She has been around other dogs, cats, and people, but she thrives most when she is your one and only.

Story
Odin is a 5 year olds, neutered male black bi Australian Shepherd. He is 37 pounds, housebroke, good with cats, and likes people but is bit nervous around strangers. He does pull on leash some, is well mannered in the house and can sit, down and shake. Odin is currently living in a foster with 6 other dogs with no issues. Odin was a transfer from a shelter in Iowa due to the fact that he has issues with body handling and needs some work in cooperative care to get him comfortable with grooming and vet visits. His foster is working on muzzle training and desensitizing him to brushing. Odin is very treat motivated and loves his training sessions on the grooming table. Scroll down on our facebook to see a live session on cooperative care using Odin as a demo. In that video I mention that Odin is headed to a new home. We took him there but the resident dog and Odin decided very quickly that they did not want to share a home and he came back to his foster the same day. The details: Needs fence: no, but unsure how he is off leash Good with dogs: yes, actively avoids conflict in house with 6 other dogs. Good with cats: yes Good with kids: likely not due to issues with bodily handling. Older kids would be fine. All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com. All dogs have an adoption fee of $400 plus MN sales tax. We pride ourselves on matches that are awesome for both the dog and your family. Story
Eunice is a 1 year old, spayed female, Aussie mix. With her short legs and big ears I would not be surprised if there was some Corgi in there but we don't know what mix she is. Eunice was turned into a local animal control and transferred to ARM. Eunice is friendly with people, exhuberant and likes attention. She does jump up on people and needs some work on walking on a leash without pulling. She can be bit dog selective ( a bit of a guarder and defensive while in a foster home with 6 other dogs). She has been doing better with a single dog in her current foster home. Eunice needs some work on her manners but she is a nice girl that will settle into life as a great companian for someone. Her current foster home says: She can jump over the back of the couch, begs for attention a lot, can be sweet as pie, isn't signalling to go outside so needs training on that, destroys plush toys... Sounds like this girl needs an active home that will keep her mind busy and tired! The details: Needs fence: No, but we haven't tested her off leash either. Good with dogs: Mostly, can be obnoxious so needs tolerant other dog or to be an only dog. Good with cats: a little intense but did ok with cats that don't run. We would say no cats or managed well. (she is chasing the cat in her new foster home). Good with kids: Seems to be All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. Story
Meet Marti! Marti is a 5 year old, neutered, double merle, male, who came to us almost completely feral. He is a slightly pudgy 40 pounds, crate trained, house broke (but still leaks a little urine when sleeping although we haven't tried medication for that yet as it has been improving). As he is double merle he has some vision issues as well. Marti will need a very special owner that is willing to give him plenty of time to learn to trust. At his foster home Marti gets along with other dogs, is great with cats, and walks off leash in a rural setting. Marti is that lower energy aussie everyone's looking for and would like a quiet home. Marti will need more training in cooperative Care which his foster is working on and is easy to implement. The details: Needs Fence: Depends on setting (needs to gain trust to be leashed, fence necessary in busier area) Good With Dogs: Yes Good With People: Needs patience Good with cats: Yes All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. Story
Nebula, a truly beautiful dog. While her past holds some hardship – she was found living on the streets with her seven puppies – her spirit shines through. Nebula is a sweet and beautiful girl, possessing a gentle nature that will blossom with the right amount of patience and understanding. Nebula's intelligence is evident in her quick grasp of commands. She's already house-trained and crate-trained, demonstrating a willingness to learn and adapt. She enjoys walks immensely, exhibiting a calm and easy-going temperament. What Nebula truly desires is a loving home where she can finally feel safe and secure. While her street life has made her initially cautious around new people, once she builds trust, her playful puppy-like energy resurfaces. It's a beautiful transformation to witness. We believe Nebula would thrive in a quiet and patient home, ideally with someone experienced in working with dogs who have experienced trauma. With the right care, she'll become the most loyal and loving companion imaginable. If you're interested in learning more about Nebula and potentially offering her a loving forever home, please don't hesitate to contact us. $200 In State Adoption Fee (in Texas) $400 Out of State Fee (includes Transportation to your area) $50 Temporary fuel surcharge.

Story
This 3–4-year-old Border Collie is a sweet and well-behaved girl! At 53 pounds, she’s the perfect fit for an active family to share their adventures with. Mya is fully potty-trained and settled in nicely after just a week or two of adjustment. While Mya does experience a bit of separation anxiety — likely tied to being separated from a past companion — she does okay being alone for a few hours. She’s not a fan of crates, but she’s so well-mannered that she doesn’t really need one. She's happy just being part of the family routine.Mya is all about her people. She has a gentle, sweet nature and gets along well with kids and adults alike. Although she barks at smaller dogs when she's out and about, we believe she would be a good fit for a home with another dog. She has not been tested with feline friends yet. This girl has plenty of energy to burn! She’s happiest when she’s outside running, going for long walks, or playing. You’ll know just how excited she is to go outside when you see her jumping for joy! She would do great in a home with access to a fenced yard or dog run. Mya will need a family that can commit to giving her the exercise she craves. If you're looking for a playful, energetic pup, Mya just might be the perfect match! If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Snapshot of Gordy: Size? Medium-Large (48 lbs) Activity Level? High -he is a border collie mix, after all! ;) Noise Level? Low Good with Dogs? Yes Good with Cats? Yes Good with Kids? Likely, but no children in foster home. Good with Strangers? Yes Potty Trained? Yes, with appropriate supervision and a schedule. Crate Trained? Yes Shedding? Medium About Gordy: Hi, my name is Gordy! I also respond to Gordo, Gordito, Sir Gordon, and Cheesy Gordita Crunch. I am an adorable border collie/lab mix who wants nothing more than a home to call my own--and, preferably, a ball to call my own as well. I LOVE to chase balls, and if no balls are around, I'll make do with chasing anything you throw for me--stuffies, sticks, ropes... the options are endless. My foster mom says that I'm amazingly well adjusted given my relatively rough history. I was 1 of 16 (!!) dogs rescued from a local home, and I haven't had the best care before now. For example, you might notice that I have a bit of a limp due to a wonky front foot. The vet says that this is likely caused by a ruptured tendon that didn't heal right. Fortunately, it doesn't slow me down at all! I also recently had 8 front teeth removed, including 3 of my canines, which were all fractured, likely from biting at the bars of a crate. Still, nothing can bring down my happy-go-lucky personality (except, of course, when my foster mom puts away my ball for the night). Something else you should know about me is that I tested positive for two tick-borne diseases, Anaplasmosis and Lyme. I received treatment and I don’t have any signs of chronic Lyme infection - which is AMAZING news! I will likely continue to test positive for both of these for the rest of my life due to chronic antibodies. It is possible that I could develop side effects from Lyme later in my life but for now I’m a happy and healthy boy! Here's a bit more from my foster mom: An ideal home for Gordy would be one that can give him lots of mental and physical stimulation. He really enjoys chewing on bones and bully sticks, playing tug with toys, and playing fetch. He's also a smart boy and has picked up on sit, lay down, and crate up very quickly. We're working on some new commands for him to show off! I think he'd do great with someone who enjoys having a dog that can be a companion to them on a variety of adventures! Gordy is fixed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations for his age. Story
Breezy is in a temporary foster home, and her foster mom is unable to continue fostering. So we are looking for either someone to foster Breezy with intent to adopt her, or an adopter. Please read all about her. Are you looking for a SUPER SMART dog? Well, we have one. Breezy is looking for her forever home after being an unclaimed stray in a southern shelter. She is a 2 year old, 56# female Standard Poodle / Australian Shepherd mix with a ton of personality and intelligence. In the first 12 hours of her being at her foster home, she learned three talking buttons (outside, toy, and puzzle) - We had to put the puzzle away because she pressed it continuously for more treats! She has mastered four doggy puzzles so far and has learned several new tricks. Breezy has a lot of energy and would play all day long - she needs a home with another playful dog about her size and someone who is home much of the time or able to take her to work – she gets bored without stimulation. You need to accept the challenge of staying one step ahead of her ! She does well with all-sized dogs and children (foster’s children are ages 4 & 10). She is perfectly potty trained and has had no accidents in her foster home (which has hundreds of dog smells, so very tempting). Foster has a dog door and she loves to be outside and find outside treasures. She will need a fenced yard with a secure fence that is at least 5 ft. high. From her foster Mom: Breezy LOVES to chew. At her former foster home she was chewing things that didn’t belong to her, but at my house has only chewed dog things. I give her lots of options and make sure she is learning what is hers and what isn’t. She responds well to “no” and will drop something right away. She was hesitant to go on car rides because she lacked confidence, but now she jumps right in. She doesn’t have recall skills yet and needs to be on leash if not in a fenced area. She loves to run and go on walks, and walks on a leash pretty well. I am confident she would learn VERY quickly and is incredibly smart & train-able. She HATES being crated or gated. We don’t have kennels at my house but in her past, she has chewed through them. If she is gated away from her people, she will bark and be very anxious. We leave her with run of the house along with the resident dogs when we are gone and she is completely fine. She likes to look out the window and giving her a chew bone or kong full of food and peanut butter will help keep her busy. She doesn’t shed very much unless she is nervous and will need occasional grooming. Breezy is very entertaining and loves to sit in your lap or really on any part of you that she is allowed to. She sleeps on her back with feet sticking straight in the air and her tongue out. She loves to be in our bed at night, but is trainable and would sleep in a dog bed if taught to do so. Recap: Highlights: very smart, trainable, loving, playful, good with other dogs and kids, 100% house broken, minimal shedding, loves her person and is BEAUTIFUL. Things to work on: chewing and loving “nibbles”, occasional jumping, anxiety on being gated/crated. Needs: High-energy, needs stimulation, exercise, and someone to work with her and keep her engaged, best with another dog in the home to play with and someone who is home much of the time. She will make a WONDERFUL companion for the right active person who wants to work with a SUPER smart dog. A dog trainer would especially be impressed with her intelligence and ease of training. Breezy is spayed, up to date on Vaccines, and the Tick Panel was negative. Her heartworm test was positive, and she was treated in October of last year. She'll need a blood recheck between April-July of this year - this is mandatory to be certain that this test is negative for the heartworm antigen. Second Chance will cover the cost of this follow-up test. Her adoption fee is $400. Call 651-771-5662 if you are interested in meeting her. Considering this pet for adoption?
