Story
** Elliot is currently in a foster home, please call us at 715-268-7387 to set up an appointment to meet him** This handsome, unique, super smart guy is Elliot, a roughly 5 year old Border Collie mix who's about 60 pounds of gentle love. While we're not sure of his full story prior to arriving with us, it is apparent that Elliot had a rough start to his life, particularly with human interactions. He adores other dogs and animals; always ready to perk up and play at a moments notice - especially if there's toys. He warms up to the people he trusts and recognizes, but, due to his past we believe, he is cautious of men. Elliot is an absolute sweetheart and a beautiful man inside and out, he just needs to find the right home that can accommodate his particular needs. We believe a home with other dogs would be a necessity to ensure he warms up to his new home and also has some friends to keep him busy and happy. A home without men would likely be best as well, otherwise, slow, gentle, and consistent introductions would be essential to help him warm up to a new man in the house. A gentle, slow approach in general is a great way to get Elliot to be your new sidekick!Elliot overall is an amazing guy who unfortunately didn't get off to the best start in life. But now it's time to give him that life he's always deserved! His adoption fee has also been sponsored, as all we want is for him to find the home of his dreams. If you think you'd be a good match for Elliot, or have any questions about him, please stop in the shelter or give us a call at 715-268-7387. Thank you for considering giving this beautiful soul a second chance! ** Elliot is currently in a foster home, please call us at 715-268-7387 to set up an appointment to meet him**

Snapshot of Marvey: Size? Large Activity Level? Very active with periods of rest and naps Noise Level? Barks when feeling playful -and he's big so they are loud:) Good with Dogs? Yes I love playing! Good with Cats? Not sure but probably ok with a dog savvy cat Good with Kids? We recommend older kids only. Very friendly with respectful kids but can accidentally knock the small ones over Good with Strangers? Good with strangers but working on jumping up Potty Trained? Yes Crate Trained? Marvey has trouble being confined in a crate, so no crates please! Shedding? Seasonally About Marvey: Hi I'm Marvey! I'm an young adult male Collie/Pyrenees/German Shepherd?? mix. I love being active and enjoy learning new tricks and going on walks and runs. I get along great with other dogs and I love asking other dogs to play with me. I don't have any cats in my life, and I'm friendly with kids but I tend to knock them over because I'm excited to get to know them. I'm very friendly and love greeting my humans when they get home and love meeting new people. My sworn enemy is hardwood floors because I'm afraid I'll slip on them. I love learning and will work hard on getting a treat as long as the treat is something I'm into, because I reserve the right to be picky. I'm very well potty trained and I will ask to be let out if I need to go. I need lots of activity. If I don't get enough during the day, I'll ask you to play with me. I know sit, lay down, and shake, but I'm still working on getting these every time I'm prompted. I prefer to not be in a crate because it makes me nervous. I am able to free roam at night and when my humans are away without issues. The best kind of home for me is a home that can give me the active days I need, either through lots of outside time or through lots of challenging learning. I love being with other dogs and meeting new people and a home that can give me both would be ideal. Marvey is fixed, microchipped, and current on vaccinations appropriate for his age. Marvey was treated for Heartworm before coming into rescue and will need to be retested at 6 months and 1 year from treatment to make sure the treatment was effective. He will need year-round heart-worm preventatives for his lifetime. Size? Medium-Large (48 lbs) Activity Level? Medium-high Noise Level? Low Good with Dogs? Yes Good with Cats? Yes Good with Kids? Yes Good with Strangers? Yes Potty Trained? Yes Crate Trained? Yes Shedding? Medium About Gordy: Hi, my name is Gordy! I also respond to Gordo, Gordito, Sir Gordon, and Cheesy Gordita Crunch. I am an adorable border collie/lab mix who wants nothing more than a home to call my own--and, preferably, a ball to call my own as well. I LOVE to chase balls, and if no balls are around, I'll make do with chasing anything you throw for me--stuffies, sticks, ropes... the options are endless. I also love going on car rides, sit politely in the back seat, and walk well on a leash. My foster mom says that I'm amazingly well adjusted given my rough history. I was 1 of 16 (!!) dogs rescued from a local home, and I haven't had the best care before now. For example, you might notice that I have a bit of a limp due to a wonky front foot. The vet says that this is likely caused by a ruptured tendon that didn't heal right. Fortunately, it doesn't slow me down at all! I also recently had 8 front teeth removed. Still, nothing can bring down my happy-go-lucky personality (except, of course, when my foster mom puts away my ball for the night). Here's a bit more from my foster mom: An ideal home for Gordy would be one that can give him lots of mental and physical stimulation. He really enjoys chewing on bones and bully sticks, playing tug with toys, and playing fetch. He's also a smart boy and has picked up on sit, lay down, and crate up very quickly. We're working on some new commands for him to show off! I think he'd do great with someone who enjoys having a dog that can be a companion to them on a variety of adventures! Gordy is fixed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations for his age. Story
Check little Sienna out! This little border collie blend was found out in the cold on the streets of Ada, MN. She was held with the Ada Police Department for a weekend, and brought into NWMNAR first thing the following Monday morning at daybreak. Little Sienna stayed on stray hold for a week, has been spayed, brought up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and now looking for her furever home! This little gal is spirited and definitely holds her own. Her personality is bigger in size than she is with a bit of a dominant personality and is a quick learner. She has been around other dogs while vacationing here at the rescue and is brushing up on her social skills. Sienna was adopted, and yet returned as she wasn't working out with active lifestyle. She would prefer a calm quiet home where she can be loved. Sienna is available for adoption, and is also currently seeking a foster home! Fine Print: All dogs of NWMNAR are screened at the headquarters in Ada, Mn until they are vetted. They are then transferred to foster homes throughout MN and some into ND so they can get used to lifestyles with a family in a home. Adoption fee for an adult dog is $300 + Mn tax. Adoption fee for a dog over 3 years of age is $300 + Mn tax., pup/dog1 year to 3 years is $400 + Mn tax. Under 1 year of age $500 + Mn tax. Free adoption applications can be found on our website at: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/NMA/Dog. Because NWMNAR is not a public shelter, meet and greets do not take place until an application has been approved and a home visit has been completed in person or virtually. Meet and greets will take place in a public setting along with the adoption if compatible. Dogs can be met in Ada, MN weekday and weekends, or in our alternate office location in Maple Grove, MN on weekends only. Once we receive your submission, our application review team will be in touch with you. Please have patience while they look over your application.

APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. Whitney a possibly a Border Collie mixed with Red Heeler. DOB 2/1/26; currently about 30# and will probably get to be 45-50#s, best guess. She is the most adorable puppy EVER! She is enthusiastic & confident; curious & playful; and very smart. She has almost mastered walking on a leash and she is good in her crate. She loves car rides. She is mostly quiet in the kennel, except when she needs to do her business! She loves people and dogs of All sizes and ages. Because she is young, we don’t recommend very young children be around her. In her puppy playfulness, she would probably knock the little ones down. Curious, interested in cats but not aggressive. Loves treats so she will be easy to train. She plays with the rope toy or stick with you, but she does not return it yet. She definitely acts goofy when she plays but also loves to snuggle in your lap. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You will receive the dog's folder with all the printouts proving the medical treatments received. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you will have the opportunity to find out more from their foster family or the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at shaynerescue@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog.
