Meet Kai! Kai is a 3-month-old, 17-Ib Australian Shepherd puppy who wants nothing more than to be as close to you as possible. The adoration in his puppy dog eyes when he gets even a little bit of attention will melt your heart. Kai is ready to be your best friend - no, like your BEST friend. He will follow you around the house, wiggling his butt and jumping up to give you gentle leg hugs and paw pats. Kai loves other dogs, peanut-butter-filled kongs, stuffed animal toys, bones and most importantly: attention. He has puppy energy and loves hopping around like a rabbit after his stuffed animal toys. Once he's done playing, he wants nothing more but to cuddle up next to you as close as possible and snooze. Kai quickly learned how to sit and to do his business on the pee pads. He sleeps through the night in his crate or play pen and though he cries a little bit when you first put him in, he settles quickly. He can be slightly shy when you first meet him but opens his heart to you quickly. If you want a cuddly, adoring dog who will happily follow you around all day every day, Kai is the one for you! Kai is currently being fostered in Jersey City. His adoption fee is $800. Kai is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
