Story
Harrison is a friendly and funny dog with a lot of love to give! Look at that smile!!! This smart and athletic dog is about 6 years old and weighs 70 pounds. He loves the water, car rides, and making new friends. Harrison loves head scratches and will soak up as much affection as he can receive and will gladly return it with a little bit of over-the-top energy. We are working on that! He is super smart and learns a routine quickly. Also, he's very treat motivated and would love a family that can keep him active and engaged. He's a loyal companion and would be a great addition to your family. Harrison loves his foster family but is fine when they have to leave the house and when you return, he acts like you have been gone for years. He's a great welcoming committee! Harrison is not much of a barker but certainly has a deep bark that would deter someone from entering uninvited. His energy might be a bit much for some dogs, but he does love to play with other dogs so if you are looking for another playmate for your dogs, he probably could hang. Harrison loves tennis balls, plush toys, loves ice cubes and will self sooth before bedtime. He would love to cuddle up with you at night for bedtime but is fine to not be next to you at night. We are thinking a home more rural would be best for him as cars that go by overexcites him so he wouldn't do well in a big city environment. That's not his vibe! Lots of love seething from this big boy! If you're interested in adopting Harrison, email STORKWOODS@COMCAST.NET to request an adoption application.

Story
Calling all dog lovers! Come meet Rocko! Rocko is a loving and playful neutered male, medium mixed breed - likely Australian shepherd in his mix. 3-4 years old. He has a beautiful color and coat. This handsome boy is also a very smart dog! He will aim to please and listens to commands! Some commands Rocko is really good at are Sit, Down, Lay down, Give paw, Wait, stay, and Up When he sees the leash he springs up high into the air with joy! Rocko has big energy and would be great in a home where he receives a lot of attention and love and plenty of walks or time to run in the yard. He would return that love in abundance. Rocko loves to cuddle and gives free kisses!! He has strong recall and responds well to training with treats. He responds well to a strong No or Leave it if he gets rambunctious. He is playful and well behaved with other dogs. He needs an owner who will properly introduce him to other dogs. It could take few minutes of correction and patience depending on the dog he's meeting. He has been in a foster home with several other dogs and fits right into the pack once introduced. Rocko loves his crate and easily goes in it to sleep. He is housebroken and can be left at home while you're out of the house or at work all day. He is not destructive when he is left out of the crate. Rocko is currently being fostered in southwestern CT. Rocko is a dream dog for someone who is looking for a sweet and active companion to go on adventures with. Rocko is fully vetted, neutered, micro chipped, and ready to go home with YOU! If you can open your heart & home to dear Rocko, please contact Brittany with Pound_Puppy_Refuge IG: @Pound_Puppy_Refuge call/text: 203-520-7572 Apply to adopt Rocko at AmsterDog.org/application. Story
**Located in Korea** Rescue Story: Prince Hans is a remarkable dog with an even more remarkable story. Rescued from deplorable conditions at a gas station, he endured a life of neglect, tied up and surviving on coffee and food scraps. His life took a turn for the better when a compassionate resident, who had cared for him and another dog named Sleeping Beauty, stepped in to save them from an uncertain and bleak future. Physical Description: Prince Hans is a medium-sized mixed-breed dog with striking features. His coat is a handsome blend of caramel and white, with soulful brown eyes that speak volumes of his resilience and longing for a loving home. Personality: Energy Level: Prince Hans is a calm and gentle soul, scoring a 4 on the energy scale. He enjoys a leisurely pace and appreciates a peaceful environment. Barking: You'll hardly hear a peep from Prince Hans. He's a quiet and composed companion who prefers to listen and observe. Leash Manners: After three months of dedicated training, Prince Hans has transformed from a strong leash-puller into a well-behaved walker. He now strolls calmly by your side, making walks a pleasure for both of you. Appetite: Prince Hans has a hearty appetite and eagerly devours his meals. He's not a picky eater and enjoys a well-balanced diet. Bathing: While he may not particularly enjoy bath time, Prince Hans patiently stands still. He's a cooperative dog who understands that some things are part of the grooming routine. Treats and Walks: Prince Hans lights up when it's treat time or time for a leisurely walk. These are some of his favorite activities, and you'll see his excitement shine through during these moments. Otherwise, he's content to lounge quietly and relax. Training: Prince Hans already knows commands like "Sit" and "Stay," which is a testament to his intelligence and eagerness to please. He's a quick learner and is ready to embark on further training adventures with his new family. Ideal Home: Prince Hans would thrive in a calm and loving home where he can continue to heal from his past experiences. He's a perfect fit for individuals or families seeking a loyal and low-energy companion who appreciates the simple pleasures in life. He would do well in a home with a secure yard for leisurely strolls and playtime. Adoption Notes: Prince Hans has come a long way from the gas station where he was found. He's a survivor with a heart of gold, and all he's looking for now is a forever home filled with love, patience, and understanding. If you're ready to open your heart to this resilient and gentle soul, Prince Hans will reward you with unwavering loyalty and a lifetime of companionship. Adopt Prince Hans and give him the loving family he so deserves. ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States. ##1839561##

Story
Meet Malachai! 5-Year-Old • Male • Mini Australian Shepherd • 28 lbs Calling all Aussie lovers! Malachai is a total heartthrob with movie-star looks and a personality to match. This confident, playful, and outgoing guy is full of life—and fluff! A high-energy supermodel with serious herding instincts and a passion for fetch, Malachai would thrive with an active person or family who can keep up with his zest for life. He’s the ultimate workout buddy—whether it’s running, hiking, or agility training, Malachai is ready to be your energetic sidekick. He’s whip-smart, eager to please, and learns quickly with consistent guidance and structure. That said, Malachai is a classic Aussie: he needs a job and plenty of structured, daily exercise to be his best self. Without it, he’ll let you know—he can get vocal and excited on walks, especially when the leash comes out, so he’s still working on polite leash manners. Malachai currently lives with three other high-energy dogs, but he prefers to be the center of attention. He would do best as the “one and only,” though he might do well with a single, energetic female dog who matches his drive and doesn’t mind sharing the spotlight. No cats, please. He’s good with kids, but due to his herding tendencies, a home with older children (12+) or adults only would be ideal. Malachai is looking for a home in the suburbs or countryside with a securely fenced yard and, most importantly, someone who understands the Australian Shepherd mindset: intelligent, driven, and full of heart. With the right person by his side, Malachai is ready to shine. If you're an active, breed-savvy person who’s ready for an adventure partner and cuddle bug all in one, Malachai just might be your perfect match. Story
Eeyore - 4 months & 14lbs (as of 5/23), Aussie/Husky Mix, NeuteredEstimated Full Grown Size Around 50lbs  This puppy is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. Level of dog ownership experience needed:INTERMEDIATE: As an adult, this dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Relevant puppy care experience is a huge plus, but bare minimum the adopter must have TONS of time and patience. Raising a puppy can be a lot of fun, but it’s also  tremendous work. Puppies’ personalities and exercise/stimulation requirements change dramatically between now and when they’re a year old as their bodies and brains develop, so an active lifestyle and the ability to adapt to a pup’s evolving needs are a must. We strongly urge professional dog training with a rewards based trainer from the get go. Adults only or kids ages 8 and up – all puppies go through a mouthy, rambunctious phase and often accidentally hurt children when playing. PLEASE DO YOUR OWN BREED RESEARCH to make sure you have a better understanding of the kind of temperament and exercise requirements this dog may have as an adult. Energy levelMEDIUM: Very young puppies sleep and nap a lot, but their energy level skyrockets when they become teens (4 months to around a year). As an adult, this dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day at a minimum. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Potty trained?Working on this skill. Puppies under 12 weeks old are often on track with their wee pad skills, but they’re too young to walk outside in public NYC areas yet because they haven’t finished their puppy vaccine series. Puppies older than 12 weeks are usually learning to do their business outside. Potty training takes a lot of patience, consistency, and clean up.  Crate trained?Nope. None of our new puppies have been formally trained, but many of our foster parents/adopters choose to crate train. It can be a great way to keep puppies safe and teach them independence. Social with dogs?Yes. Some puppies are shy, others are bold, but all have the potential to be taught healthy socializing skills. It’s a huge part of raising a puppy and must be done carefully. How they interact with other dogs depends largely on how their humans help them learn to.  Social with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)Yes… but most puppies are not a great match for a home with kids under age 8 because they go through intense mouthy play and rambunctious phases and often accidentally hurt young kids while playing. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age respectfully.   Social with cats?Yes. Almost all puppies have the potential to be friends with a cat. It’s on the adopter to know their cat’s temperament and preferences and to teach their puppy respectful manners.  Mouthy play: High! All puppies go through phases where they chew your stuff and grab your hands, arms, feet… puppies naturally explore the world, play, and test boundaries with their mouths. (It also happens when they’re teething.) Their teeth are super sharp though, so it can be a very painful phase for humans and other animals in the home. Proper training, outlets, and socialization are key. Leash manners:None. :) Will need to learn this skill.   Separation anxiety:MEDIUM: Most puppies have some level of separation anxiety as they learn to self soothe. Often they cry the first 10+ minutes when they are left home alone or in a crate. Consistent training and alone time is crucial. Medical status:Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP and Bordetella vaccines (for dogs under 4 months old, adopters will need to finish the DHPP vaccine series and administer the Rabies vaccine at 16 weeks of age), spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee or St. Thomas. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes.
