Story
Meet Rocky! If you have kids of any age that love dogs and want to play, "Rockstar" is your boy!!! He is a 9 month old precious goober that is longing for his FURever home! He came into rescue at just 1 week old! His entire litter has been adopted and he was in a foster to adopt home when we discovered he needed surgery to correct an injury he had when we got him. He has now had that surgery and is 100% healed but his original home realized they were not ready or able to care for a dog after going through his medical process. He is AMAZING with children but wants to chase chickens so probably would chase cats too (he has not been officially tested but we want to be safe). He is 95% potty trained, super playful, loves kids and dogs and will do well in almost any environment. He is still a puppy so has puppy energy. Rocky is fostered in the Huntsville, AL area and could be available for transport but transport fees are in addition to his adoption fee. Rocky is up to date on all his vaccinations, chipped, on HW prevention and neutered. If you are interested in meeting Rocky please apply at our website forrescue.net.

Story
Loyal and loving companionMeet Piper – Sweet, Smart & Ready for Her Forever Home Piper is a loving, 4-year-old mixed-breed girl weighing 50 pounds, and she's looking for her forever family. Rescued after being abandoned at a dog park in poor condition, Piper has come a long way—blossoming into a loyal, affectionate, and incredibly smart companion. Piper has completed basic obedience training and we are now working on leash training. She knows all the essentials: sit, stay, lay down, leave it, and she has excellent recall. She's also fully potty trained and patiently sits while you place her food bowl down waits for a release command before eating—what a good girl! While Piper can be a little shy at first, she warms up quickly to new people in a home setting. Piper is a mix bread girl but with a personality of an Australian Shepherd or Cattle Dog smart, loyal, and full of heart. Piper would do best in a home without cats, she has done well with older kids. If you're looking for a devoted adventure buddy and a snuggle partner who will reward your patience with endless affection, Piper is your girl.  Check out Piper's videos: https://youtu.be/bcT5b2m90ek https://youtu.be/GwoQpSCIRSI For more videos and photos for Piper check out her social media on TikTok, YouTube and instagram @PawsNthegarden Age: 3 years old     Weight: 50 lbs   Temperament: Good with dogs and kids.   Training: Crate-trained, house trained, knows commands Vetting: Spayed, up to date on vaccines, HW negative For questions about Piper, please email: morgan7728@gmail.com  &#226&#128&#139 To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself.   July 11, 2025, 4:36 pm

Story
In Ewing: Casper is a 2 year old super sweet big ball of fluff. He’s almost 60 pounds. He’s fully vetted and has been neutered. He is great with other dogs and plays with my other foster for hours. He is sweet with my 3 yr old granddaughter and plays well with the standard female. He is NOT good with cats or other small creatures like raccoons and opossums. He has had a rough start in life. His original owner is in hospice. The hospice coordinator took him to her parents but dad is in a wheelchair and he got loose and hit by a car. They paid for his leg to be fixed but knew they weren’t the right placement. Casper can run like the wind as you would expect a 2 yr old Aussie to do and needs a family to keep up with his energy. A fenced in yard is preferred. If you think Casper is perfect for your family, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additioal $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family.

Story
We have no idea why anyone would abandon this sweet pup in a crate in the woods, but Brandy most certainly didn’t deserve to be discarded. Luckily, she was taken in by ASF and is now ready to start her new – and much better – life! Brandy is a super sweet and loving, 40lb mini Red Merle Aussie. She is completely housebroken, trustworthy in her foster home, and already knows commands like “sit”, “down”, “come”, and “give paw”. She loves going for car rides and sticking her face out the window. She is also very happy to go for walks and chase squirrels, but her excitement means she could use some work on leash pulling. She has medium energy, enjoying walks and playtime, but her favorite thing to do is be with her people. She is super affectionate and loves to snuggle. She isn’t demanding – she just wants to follow you around, lay next to you in bed or on the couch, or find a cozy spot to watch out a window. She has gotten very attached to the teen boy in her foster home and sticks to him like glue. She does very well with older kids, but hasn’t had an opportunity to meet any young children yet, so we’re not sure how she would do with all of the noise and energy. Brandy has “stranger danger”, so it takes her a bit to warm up to new people and dogs. She prefers if new people don’t approach her, but rather give her the time to work up to making the first move. But once she does, that first sniff is usually all she needs to become your next best friend. It also takes her a bit of time to get comfortable with other dogs, so slow introductions are required. She would do best with dogs that have calm, neutral energy so as not to overwhelm or scare her. Once she realizes the other dog isn’t going to hurt her, she warms up and can be friendly and playful with other well-behaved pups. Given her initial “stranger danger,” new adopters will need to be patient with her at that first meet-and-greet. Interested adopters have the option of doing an overnight with her so they can start to see the absolute sweetheart underneath the timidity once she starts to settle in. Brandy has no separation anxiety and has been left alone in her foster home for several hours without a problem. She prefers to stay out of the crate (probably given that she was abandoned in one), but she has free range of her foster home and is totally reliable. Brandy is sweet, loving, super affectionate and easy to have around. She is looking for a home that will provide her with some targeted training, be patient with her as she opens up, and give her lots of love and snuggles. Brandy is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. She is being fostered in Flemington NJ. If Brandy sounds perfect for you, please fill out our adoption application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to her new furever family.
