Say hello to Theo, a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd mix with the softest ears and at the sweetest personality. Theo is happiest when hes getting lots of attention, lots of activity, and lots of treats. Theo is afraid of other dogs, so he would thrive in a quieter, rural or suburban home with a fenced yard and few canine neighbors, where he can relax, explore, and not run into dogs around every corner. Hes a classic herding dog wants to be by your side and wants to join you in the garden in the summer and in the garage in the winter. He would do well with an experienced dog owner, and even better with someone who has experience with and love for herding dogs. He is good with all humans, whether friends or strangers, but he is shy at first. Once hes comfortable, Theos true personality shines: *Eager to pleaseand loves to learn*Loves a good stuffed boneor an antlerand isnt a counter surfer*Housebrokenand doesnt see the point of a crate *Enjoys hikesand keeping the yard free of chipmunks*Favorite phrase:Lets go! Theo is currently in Jersey City, NJ, but city life isnt his thing, as close encounters with other dogs make him anxious. When he feels overwhelmed, he will bark or lunge, so in the city he wears a basket muzzle on walks as a precaution to prevent an inadvertent bite from his reactivity or redirection. He has lived with another dog before and might do well with the right match, but hed be perfectly happy as an only pet in a consistent home where he can just be himself. Theo has not been cat tested. Meet MOCHA She is currently 3 months old and will be available for adoption at the end of January. She is from an accidental litter (mama will be getting spayed) so we know she is an Australian Shepherd/pittie mix. She is extremely active and looking for an active home that will fulfill her! She is socializing with people and dogs in her foster home. She is a cuddler and much more affectionate than her sisters. She would do well with a confident male dog sibling.

This sweet Australian shepherd mix may be heartworm positive, but don’t let that scare you away. Heartworm is treatable, and with proper care, love, and a little patience, dogs like Ranger go on to live long, happy, tail-wagging lives. While not much is known about Ranger since he was a stray pickup, what I have learned during his time in foster is that he is a kind and gentle soul, a true gem of an Australian shepherd. He is calmer than most but enjoys a good walk. He is housetrained, learning commands and in his foster home he lives with cats and another dog. He will come to you for pets and fully enjoys having his ears scratched. He is crate trained and sleeps in his all night with no issues. He rarely barks. On walks he has been exposed to traffic, other dogs, random loud noises, charging dogs, ducks, geese and people. He just walks on with no concern. He does like to approach people and sit for pets though. The vet feels he is not yet two years old, and he weighs in at 51 pounds. He will be neutered soon and has all his vaccines. Ranger is available for foster to adopt while he goes through his heartworm treatment.

Marmaduke is a big goofy lovebug! He adores children and other dogs. He is very curious about cats and chickens and is probably best in a home without those (or where he can be separated from them). He is only about 1 year old and has been in rescue all his life. He had a medical issue as a puppy that required surgery and he is completely healed from that. He will do best in a home with a secure fenced yard, another dog or dogs to play with that are not tiny since he's so big, and respectful animal-loving children that will love him as much as he loves them. He would do best with a good owner who understands herding breeds and can provide a safe and loving home. In certain situations, he will nip at legs indoors, which is consistent herding behavior.
