Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.(YOU MUST BE WITHIN A TWO HOUR DRIVE OF GRANTVILLE PA TO BE CONSIDERED FOR AN ADOPTER.) Posted 7/21/2023 Honey was aquired from another rescue.  She is extremely shy but does warm up but she will need a lot of one on one work.  I believe with the amount of progress she has made so far she just needs confidence and help to be as great as I know she can be.  Because she is so spooky she requires a fenced yard.  She has been perfectly housetrained here and wonderful in the crate.  Since she is a bit backward she will not eat or drink on front of people, and she will stay by a door knowing that is her way to bolt.  She is NOT snappy,  but will allow you to hug her.  I will not place her with any children since she does need work and she needs to be the center of attention to get her over the hump.  She has had a dental and bloodwork.  She is about 4-5 years old does require grooming  and her adoption fee is $350.  All the dogs are Spayed or Neutered, Heartworm/Lyme tested, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas and overall Vet checked. We offer a 30 day money back guarantee along with an adoption kit . Application REQUIRED. Adoption fee required. If interested contact Denise @ (717) 469-7325 Email: Doggieden@aol.com The FIRST STEP to be considered for adopting a pet is to fill out the adoption application COMPLETELY . OR  thedogsden.rescuegroups.org Click on Adoption at left margin of pageVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 19, 2024, 1:14 am

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 1/11/24 Smiley is one of our newest intakes! He started at Paws in Prison yesterday and will graduate from the program in about 8 weeks. Smiley and his friend, Wiggles, were found by some kind folks deep in the woods while camping. Smiley and Wiggles were emaciated, hungry, thirsty, covered in ticks, and desperately seeking help and love! Luckily they were saved. Both are males and very social boys, eager to please their human and easy to train with their love for training treats, too. Commands they have mastered include SIT, WAIT, OFF, ON ALL FOURS and working on more. They are about 10 months to a year old and weigh 30 to 32 pounds. About Mr. Smiley -- Smiley has a beautiful medium to long glossy black coat, with white puffs of hair on his underside. He is probably an Australian Shepherd mix, making him quite agreeable to obedience training. Can you spell S-M-A-R-T? The name “Smiley” comes from the cute little quirk of showing teeth when he greets you. This sweet smile is a sign of contentment and is a way of communicating with his human friends to convey how happy he truly is. Like his “brother” Wiggles, Smiley is affectionate, a cuddle bug, very good with other dogs, good with kids, and enjoys a playful romp from time to time. He also enjoys belly rubs and is also very treat driven. Smiley is crate trained, house trained, leash trained. UTD on vaccinations, neutered, and started on heartworm/flea/tick prevention. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. Harrisburg, PA 2am Fridays Port Jervis, NJ 5am Fridays Southington, CT 8am Fridays East Hartford, CT 11am Fridays To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $125-$140 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. For more info regarding adopting, email apps.aasr@gmail.com. Thank you for considering one of our rescue babies! February 24, 2024, 1:08 pm

Story
****NO ADOPTION FEE!!!!**** There is absolutely nothing wrong with Nellie Kate, but due to the fact that we need to make room for new fosters, adoptions are slow at the moment and Nellie Kate has been here a little longer than some, WE ARE NOT CHARGING AN ADOPTION FEE ON HER! You will still have to fill out an application and be approved though and if you live in the northern states that we adopt to, you will have to pay the $135 transport fee. NELLIE KATE – LAB/AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD MIX – Email fogcarescue@gmail.com for more info and/or an application. This GORGEOUS girl will be a WONDERFUL family dog for some lucky family! She is a super sweet, friendly and happy girl. She loves people and she is especially fond of kids and seems to enjoy any personal attention that wish to lavish her with. She is great with other dogs and like most youngsters, she loves to run and play with them. I would say that her energy level is medium and she is playful, but she’s not so active that you can’t love on her. She’s a real love bug…she’ll even climb in your lap if you let her. She does pretty well on a leash and enjoys going on walks/hikes. Nellie Kate is looking for a great new family that will love her and include her in their everyday comings and goings. She is 1 ½ years old (dob 5/13/22) and weighs 48 pounds at the time of this posting 1/16/24. She has been spayed, 4DX heartworm tested, microchipped, fecal tested and is current on all vaccinations, worming and on heartworm and flea prevention. Nellie Kate is being fostered in Tennessee. Once adopted she will be transported to her pickup location by a professional dog transport company. Our rescue ships to the Northeast area every week and her fee includes transportation. Due to state laws, we cannot accept applications from residents of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Maine since we can’t adopt directly to residents of those states.

Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Boyertown, PA Sweet Pea is a 5 year old Toy Australian Shepherd and weighs 11 lbs. He is neutered and microchipped, but isn’t up to date on shots (except for rabies and DHLPP) or on heartworm prevention. Sweet Pea is fearful of strangers. He is good with older children, but hasn’t been tested around smaller children. No cats or dogs, due to his reactivity! Sweet Pea bit a neighbor who was walking by. The current owner is surrendering him because their landlord wants him gone. He needs to find a new furever home as soon as possible! If you think you can provide a great home for Sweet Pea, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Sweet Pea. Owner’s Contact Information: Valerie Schott at (610) 507-6910 or vals_us@yahoo.com.
