Story
Gunner is a 3-month-old Heeler mix. He's very sweet & loves to cuddle! Since heelers are herding dogs he'll need plenty of exercise and like all pups, ongoing training. He LOVES outdoors so housebreaking should be a snap! He's dewormed & utd on age-appropriate vaccines. According to the weight calculator, he'll be about a 50lb adult. He's being fostered with dogs of all sizes as well as cats & is doing well. He'll do great with any child who has respectful dog manners.DATCP#483538

Story
Ok, everyone, I need your help!🙌 I'm 👑Charles III👑, a 2+ year old, 55 lb guy who is just about perfect in every way but one - I'm just not a fan of strangers!! But read on, and I'll tell you why you shouldn't pass me by👀I'm completely house trained, crate trained but trusted loose while my people are away, I love walks (an old back leg injury does not slow me down) once I get comfortable with you, although you'll have to remind me not to bark at passersby, and well behaved on car rides. I only chew on my dog toys (hard toys only please!), have no issues sharing toys, food and treats with humans and doggy friends. And I LOVE my dog friends!! I'm very good at reading what those friends are like and adjusting my play style to what works best for them. I always come running when called, am 100% devoted to my family, and will do anything to please them.So - about this stranger thing. I have a hard time trusting new people at first. I bark and growl and try to scare them away! I find one person right away and bond to them quickly, then need more time to adjust to others in the home. But if you're patient and have a few days (note: this can take up to a week plus!), I'll warm up to you and lavish all my love on you! And I remember every person I've let into my circle - I saw a volunteer I met weeks ago, and treated her like a long lost bestie. Besides needing patience, I also ➡️NEED⬅️ a confident doggy playmate to take the lead that will show me new people are okay. When I see my dog friend getting affection, my craving for love will be overcome and soon I'll be right there asking for pets! Because of my herding tendencies, dog-savvy kids over 10 are best. And I recently visited a house with a cat who's used to dogs, she let me know she wasn't interested and I listened. My foster mom says I'm a 🪄Goldilocks🪄 kind of guy, I need a home that's *just right*. But if you think that's you, get your application in so we can start our happily everDATCP# 483538

Story
Meet Princess Leia - the 1.5-year-old, 25lb little fox with a heart of gold. Coming from a hoarding situation where she never felt safe or truly cared for, Leia has already overcome so much. Now, it's her time to shine, to be spoiled, & to experience the warmth of a loving home.In her foster home, Leia was reserved at first, but came out of her shell very quickly. Leia is the epitome of "chill" & loves to lounge for the majority of the day. Her favorite place to sleep is on top of all of the couch pillows. She has blossomed into a playful pup, eager to explore & play chase with her foster sibs. When she is excited, she wiggles her butt like there is no tomorrow! She is currently being fostered with both dogs & cats & enjoys everyone! Leia has not met many children, so kids will be determined on a case-by-case basis.Leia enjoys meeting new people but needs to move at her own pace. Finding her forever home means finding a family who will be patient & gentle, & who will offer her the time & space she needs to grow & flourish. For the lucky soul who opens their heart to Leia, the reward is immeasurable – a lifetime of love, sweetness, & the quiet resilience of a little fox who has finally found her place to call home.DATCP# 483538

Story
Oh my goodness!!! It's possible you may have not ever seen a cute puppy on the planet. NeverMind his stunning eyes! Rocky is just a little guy, 6 weeks currently but will be 8 weeks before he leaves us ! He's super sociable. Currently he's in a foster home in Memphis Tn with Michele and her family. And LOTS of other dogs of all sizes and ages. His mom is a stunning black lab, Raven. We use a transport company called Rescue Vet Transport to get our pets from Memphis, Tn to the northeast. They travel each weekend, leaving Memphis, Tennessee, Friday mornings around 6 AM. Once they leave Memphis, they start a group chat with the two drivers and everyone who has A Pet on board. They make stuffs along the route as far north as West Greenwich, Rhode Island meeting newly adoptive parents. (transport is an additional $185) once an application has been submitted and approved, Michele would be happy to speak with you about Little Rocky, send you videos, photos answer any questions you might have about him. You will find that our volunteer team is very responsive. Please make sure your vet has permission to speak with us. also, please make sure you're ready to adopt a pet before submitting an adoption application. As always, thank you for adopting your new family member!. We have included the link to our adoption application for your convenience. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

Story
About Me: Name: Maeve and Mauve Breed (or best guess): Mini Aussie and Heeler mix Approximate Age: 9 weeks Gender: Female Approximate Weight: 4 lb Adoption Fee: $600 each Requirements: willingness to train an active breed puppy Why In Rescue: breeder surrender Profile:  Maeve and Mauve are each now looking for homes of their own.  An active family would be best for one of these cute girls.  They haven't lived in a home yet, and are babies, so will need work on housetraining, walking on a leash, and all the other puppy things.  In return you will get a lifetime of love!  Apply now for one of these girls, and we will set up an appointment for you to meet them. We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If considering adopting a former breeding dog, the following article is good to read to help you understand the special needs these dogs may have.  http://nowisconsinpuppymills.com/mill-survivors.html If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $450 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $75 (up to $230 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $75 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS April 22, 2024, 11:29 pm
