Story
𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑴𝒖𝒕𝒕: ❤️Dexter ❤️🐾 Dexter is getting a second chance at life thanks to the Dog Is My CoPilot/Petco-sponsored flight, in partnership with Fort Bend County Health & Human Services—and he’s ready to land in Wisconsin straight into someone’s heart 💙🐶 Currently in a foster home, Dexter is still searching for his perfect ADOPTER to make his fresh start complete! Dexter’s Bio 🐾 Breed: Australian Shepherd / Border Collie Mix (with Great Pyrenees looks!) Age: 2 Years Old Gender: Neutered Male Size: Large (70 lbs) Spayed/Neutered: Yes Heartworm Status: Negative Potty Trained: Most Likely Crate Trained: Yes Leash Manners: Good, with a bit of guidance Good with other dogs: Yes Good with cats: Unknown Good with kids: Yes Say hello to Dexter – a fluffy, happy boy with a heart as big as his paws! This handsome pup has the soft, majestic look of a Great Pyrenees, with the brains and personality of a herding mix. He's super friendly, gentle with treats, and lives for attention (especially back scratches!). 🐾 Dexter can get a little bouncy with excitement, but don’t worry—he settles in beautifully after burning off a bit of that playful energy. With his medium energy level, he’s perfectly suited for a home that enjoys both active time and snuggles. Dexter would thrive with a family that will let him be part of the action—and most of all, let him love and be loved. She is so smart and sweet that our Texas rescue partners were called to save her. Star is beautiful and so unique, she is fairly petite and looking forward to being a beloved family member!  Adoption Fee: $450We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433   ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs once they're at least 6 months old. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months, they will need to be spayed/neutered by your veterinarian when they are between 6 to 8 months old. Proof that the spay/neuter has been completed will need to be submitted to Tailwaggers911. Once proof of the spay/neuter has been received, we will refund $100 of your adoption fee via Venmo, PayPal or have a check in the mail within 15 days. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as ADOPTION IN PROCESS, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out. April 27, 2025, 2:05 pm
